I Became Famous After I Became a Parrot in the Movie Star's House - Chapter 133
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
The nosebleed comes on suddenly, and by the time Bai Gaoxing covers his nose, his shirt is already drenched with blood.
Bai Gaoxing stands in the center of the living room, bewildered, with deep and shallow circles of blood on his chest, and his snow-white fingers stained red, making him look utterly miserable at first glance.
It isn’t until Li Pu pulls him onto the sofa that he dizzily snaps back to reality.
What is going on?
In his eighteen years of life, plus an additional year as a bird, Bai Gaoxing has never had a nosebleed before…!
Recalling what he learned in elementary school—that when you have a nosebleed, you should tilt your head back—Bai Gaoxing dumbly lifts his head. But within two seconds, Li Pu presses down on the top of his head and gently urges, “Sit up properly.”
He is positioned slightly forward, and Li Pu’s fingers are still pinching his nose. Bai Gaoxing asks in a muffled voice, “When will it stop?”
Li Pu examines the tissue, noticing that the bleeding hasn’t spread further, and after pinching for a while longer, he carefully loosens his grip. “…It’s stopped.”
Bai Gaoxing touches his nose again. It isn’t bleeding anymore.
However, the strange, lingering heat inside him still hasn’t gone away.
Li Pu places the back of his hand on Bai Gaoxing’s face, then presses it to his forehead. “Do you feel unwell?”
Bai Gaoxing shakes his head, embarrassed. He remembers that the nosebleed started when he was looking at Li Pu, and he hesitates before speaking. “I… I don’t know what happened…”
How could he lose control to this extent…?
Li Pu thinks for a moment, then, considering the recent warm spring weather, says, “Maybe it’s because the air is too dry lately.”
Bai Gaoxing nods vigorously. “Yeah, yeah, it must be because of that.”
Saying that, he bolts to the bathroom as if fleeing, hastily washing away the blood in front of the mirror.
It doesn’t take long to return to normal. Bai Gaoxing looks at himself in the mirror, watching the droplets fall from his nose, and brushes his wet hair aside. Everything seems like nothing happened.
Except his face is a little red.
Bai Gaoxing leans closer to the mirror, pinches his face, leaving a noticeable red mark.
He smacks his lips. He has always blushed easily, but getting a nosebleed in front of Li Pu? That is beyond embarrassing!
Bai Gaoxing leans against the sink, quietly waiting for the redness to fade. The earlier restlessness inside him gradually subsides, as though it had been a mere illusion.
All better now.
Bai Gaoxing lightly slaps his face and turns his attention away from the incident.
But then, it starts happening more and more frequently.
The strange, restless feeling keeps coming in waves, disappearing just as soon as he tries to figure it out. It makes it hard for him to settle down all day. He thinks he might not be able to sleep at night, but surprisingly, only at night does he feel a bit of relief.
Especially when lying in bed, wrapped in Li Pu’s scent.
Bai Gaoxing buries his face in the covers, breathing deeply, then feels it isn’t enough. He flips over, wraps his arms around Li Pu’s back, and exhales contentedly.
…
Excitement.
One morning, Bai Gaoxing feels inexplicably excited for no reason.
It is as if something is about to burst out of his body. He wants to let it out, but he has no idea how.
If he has to describe this feeling in words, it would be… wanting to step on someone.
Bai Gaoxing freezes for a moment, feeling distressed by his strange thoughts, then concludes that this must be because of the pressure from his exams combined with too much energy, and he needs to release it.
So, when Li Pu returns from his morning run, Bai Gaoxing suddenly jumps onto him like a koala.
“…What’s wrong?” Li Pu steadies himself, looking down at the boy clinging to his leg.
“I don’t know!” Bai Gaoxing’s voice is unusually bright, his face flushed. “I’m gonna run two laps!”
Li Pu frowns. “Wait—”
Before he can finish, Bai Gaoxing has already dashed out the door, leaving him standing there in confusion.
…
This is the first time Bai Gaoxing has returned to the small garden since regaining his human form.
The familiar greenery has sprouted new buds, and a patch of wildflowers has bloomed in the grass. The days are getting longer, and more people are out in the morning. From a distance, the fitness equipment area bustles with activity.
Bai Gaoxing runs two quick laps around the flower bed. The restlessness inside him gradually shifts to the heat of exercise, and then, with his hands on his hips, his pace slows as he makes his way back down the path.
Turning his head, Bai Gaoxing spots a familiar figure.
The elderly man with graying hair, Mr. Ren, is sitting comfortably on a bench, his hands resting on a cane. At his feet is a thick paper bag, and next to him are two birdcages.
Both cages contain starlings.
Bai Gaoxing immediately recognizes one of the birds as the foul-mouthed, irritable starling, and the other, smaller in size, is likely its offspring.
“……” He still remembers the fear of being bombarded with curse words.
“Dabai.” Suddenly, someone lightly taps his shoulder. Turning around, he sees Li Pu standing behind him.
Bai Gaoxing is surprised. “How did you get here?”
“I came to find you,” Li Pu says as he takes a couple of steps forward and notices Mr. Ren sitting in the shade.
Mr. Ren also sees them and immediately smiles, waving at them. “Isn’t this Little Li? Finally found time to come out, huh? Come over here.”
Bai Gaoxing and Li Pu walk over.
Mr. Ren, who already knows Li Pu is an actor, sighs as he sees him and says nostalgically, “Feels like it’s been almost half a year since I last saw you.” He then looks at Bai Gaoxing. “And this is…?”
Bai Gaoxing answers first, smiling with his eyes squinted. “I’m Teacher Li’s assistant.”
“Oh~” Mr. Ren nods in realization. “You’re so young, are you still in college?”
Bai Gaoxing chuckles awkwardly. “No, I’m planning to take the exams this year.”
“Really?” Mr. Ren seems to brighten up. “Where are you planning to take the exams?”
Bai Gaoxing glances at Li Pu. “Jiangcheng University.”
At that, Mr. Ren beams. “Jiangcheng University is excellent! We welcome talented young men like you.”
…Huh?
Bai Gaoxing is a bit confused, but Mr. Ren continues chatting with Li Pu. Unable to join the conversation, he turns his attention to the two birdcages.
“Do you like starlings? Go ahead and have a look.” The elderly man’s kind voice rings out from behind.
Bai Gaoxing turns around in surprise and sees him nodding in his direction.
Well, if he insists… Bai Gaoxing won’t be polite!
Excitedly, Bai Gaoxing sneaks over to the cages, unaware of the sympathy and regret in Mr. Ren’s eyes.
Li Pu sees it, though, but remains silent.
The young man, with his snow-white hair, is often assumed to be sickly.
People often assume something is wrong with Bai Gaoxing because of his snow-white hair. Some ask out of curiosity, while others—like Mr. Ren—make polite assumptions in their heads.
There is no need to explain anything… After all, in human genetics, albinism is indeed considered a mutation.
Li Pu sighs and continues chatting with Mr. Ren.
Meanwhile, Bai Gaoxing squats down in front of the cages.
He sighs dramatically. “Times have changed, people have changed…” Meaning, I’ve turned into a human, and you guys are still birds.
Bai Gaoxing looks at the black-feathered starling, Xiao Guai, who is eyeing him warily. To his surprise, the bird suddenly shouts a curse, “F*** you!”
Ah, as expected, it’s still the same old bird.
Bai Gaoxing can’t help but feel nostalgic, then turns his attention to the other cage. This bird’s face is soft, and its eyes are still clear.
He reaches out and taps the cage, only to hear Xiao Guai call out, “F***, don’t touch my stupid son!”
What a ruthless bird. It even curses its own kid when angry!
Bai Gaoxing is stunned. He falls silent for a moment before attempting to whistle a tune: Do you still recognize me?
Now that he’s human, he can still understand bird language, but he hasn’t yet practiced speaking it. He assumed that no matter how well a human imitates birdsong, actual communication would be unlikely. But now…
Seeing Xiao Guai’s wide-eyed reaction, Bai Gaoxing realizes—this might actually work.
“Who are you?” Xiao Guai asks, very cautious.
Bai Gaoxing teases, “Guess?”
Xiao Guai leans forward a little. “Dabai?”
Bai Gaoxing is shocked. How did it recognize me!?
“How did you figure it out?”
“I dunno,” Xiao Guai says impatiently. “You sound weird. It’s annoying to listen to.”
Bai Gaoxing: “…”
Alright, so whistling only works a little.
“Where’s your wife?” he teases, poking at the cage holding the ‘stupid son.’
Xiao Guai proudly replies, “She’s at home, incubating eggs, eight of them!”
Bai Gaoxing grins. “Ohhh~~ So you’re really something, huh?”
After chatting for a while, Bai Gaoxing notices Li Pu is about to leave, so he stands up to follow. Just as he takes two steps, he hears Xiao Guai’s voice from behind.
“Hey!”
Turning around, Bai Gaoxing meets the starling’s suspicious gaze.
“How did you become a human?”
Bai Gaoxing touches his chin. “I’m not telling you.”
Xiao Guai: “F*ck.”
At that moment, Li Pu has just turned down Mr. Ren’s enthusiastic offer of “I’ll give you a little starling” and waves Bai Gaoxing over. As soon as he arrives, Li Pu politely says his goodbyes to Mr. Ren.
“Come visit again next time, and bring your Dabai with you,” Mr. Ren says with a warm smile. Then, turning to Bai Gaoxing, he asks, “Have you decided on your major? Are you interested in mathematics? Math is fun!”
Bai Gaoxing looks at him, puzzled.
On the way back, the question lingers in his mind. Unable to shake it off, he glances over his shoulder—only to see that, at some point, two young people have approached Mr. Ren. Their voices are faint, but he catches a snippet of conversation.
“Professor Ren—”
Professor?
Did he hear that right?
…
When they get home, Li Pu sees Bai Gaoxing’s face flushed again. Along with the private message from that day and Mr. Ren’s mention of “nesting,” a thought crosses his mind, but because he isn’t entirely sure, he suppresses it.
Time passes slowly.
Another week goes by, and Bai Gaoxing spends his days rushing through his studies, feeling increasingly restless in the heat.
During this time, Li Pu also has work commitments and is frequently out.
It’s getting unbearable.
Bai Gaoxing’s writing slows down, and he finally gives up, lying flat on the desk, pressing his face against the cool surface, hoping to ease his discomfort.
Restless.
Very restless.
Bai Gaoxing knows that in this state, his study efficiency will never improve, but he can’t understand why he feels so agitated. His blood seems to boil, clamoring for relief.
His thoughts grow sluggish, and he finds himself drawn to the bedroom closet. He collapses onto Li Pu’s clothes, breathing them in deeply, then carelessly tosses them one by one onto the bed, forming a circle.
By the time he realizes what he has done, Li Pu’s closet looks like it has been ransacked, and the bed is piled high with clothes.
And Bai Gaoxing is sitting right in the middle of it.
He holds up a piece of clothing, his eyes unfocused, his cheeks and the corners of his eyes tinted with a deep flush.
When Li Pu returns, this is the scene he finds.
If he hadn’t been sure before, this is enough to confirm his suspicions—the young man is in heat.
He has heard Bai Gaoxing mention before that he can still understand bird language or that he’s hungrier than usual, but he never imagined the human body could be affected by parrot instincts to this extent.
However, in such a moment…
Li Pu’s hand tightens as he pulls Bai Gaoxing out of the pile of clothes, only to hear him protest, “Don’t mess with my nest!”
Clearly, Bai Gaoxing has already lost his clarity of mind.
Li Pu adjusts Bai Gaoxing in his lap, carefully fixing his position before tidying up the clothes strewn across the room. Once he clears a space, he moves Bai Gaoxing onto the bed and continues organizing the rest.
Bai Gaoxing leans against the headboard in a daze, watching Li Pu busy himself. After a long pause, he murmurs, “What are you doing?”
Before Li Pu can answer, Bai Gaoxing asks again, “What’s wrong with me?”
Li Pu has already cleaned up most of the clothes. With a sigh, he comes over to Bai Gaoxing, touching his forehead. “It’s nothing.” He pauses before continuing, “It’s spring. Your body might be affected.”
Oh… Bai Gaoxing’s mind is still in a haze, the only word that sticks with him is spring.
Bai Gaoxing feels worse than ever. The restlessness inside him is unbearable. His heartbeat feels erratic, his throat dry—so dry. But he hasn’t eaten anything strange, and the weather isn’t hot enough for heatstroke…
Watching Li Pu still working, Bai Gaoxing can no longer hold back and grabs his hand. “What do I do…?” His voice is shaky. “I feel awful…”
He looks at Li Pu with pleading eyes, his black pupils wet with distress.
Li Pu, seeing the boy curled up at the head of the bed, feels his breath hitch. His voice drops, slightly hoarse. “Maybe… you’re in heat.”
In… heat?
Perhaps because he’s never encountered it before, the words don’t immediately register. He is first shocked, then incredulous, but the next moment, another wave of heat overwhelms him.
His mind becomes a mess. He grabs onto Li Pu with urgency, his speech almost incoherent. “Then hurry… help me…”
In that moment, nothing is more urgent than easing the discomfort. Bai Gaoxing pulls Li Pu closer, his voice trembling with suppressed cries. “Don’t you… want to?”
Li Pu does want to.
He has thought about it—many times. Every interaction with Bai Gaoxing lately has stirred something in him. But he has held back, worried about interfering with the boy’s studies. He planned to wait until after the exam.
He didn’t expect this to happen instead.
Feeling the burning heat of Bai Gaoxing’s skin against his arm, Li Pu’s pulse quickens. In an instant, his mind sorts through the things he has prepared in advance, considering what needs to be done to avoid hurting Dabai.
But even those few seconds feel like an eternity for Bai Gaoxing.
The frustration of unrelieved tension, built up layer by layer, finally reaches its breaking point. The unbearable sensation crashes over him like a tidal wave, drowning out reason. His last shreds of patience snap.
Bai Gaoxing’s body trembles with heat, his breaths shallow and ragged. His flushed eyes—somewhere between a plea and defiance—look up at Li Pu.
Like a drenched, ruffled bird.
Weak, but still baring its claws.
“Li Pu…” Bai Gaoxing’s voice is low, almost growling.
“Are you not able to?”
