Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 56
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
In the captain’s quarters, after exchanging greetings and sitting across from each other at the desk, a young lady brewed tea for us.
“Here you go.”
“Thank you,” I began to say, but then turned away in surprise. Why would a young woman be here in this shabby office? I glanced at Swiberry, questioning him with my eyes.
“Oh, these girls are daughters of nearby shopkeepers. They help out with cleaning here in their free time,” Swiberry explained.
“Well, the members of the Sword Fangs Legion are working hard for the town, aren’t they? We want to contribute too,” the admirable girl said, though her eyes seemed to say, ‘The captain is so cool.’
Well, it can’t be helped, since handsome men always attract admirers. Still, the transformation in just thirty days was remarkable. I had advised increasing the Sword Fangs Legion’s exposure, but I hadn’t expected such a rapid and significant change in such a short time.
“So, Captain Jilboa, what exactly did you do?”
“Well, just what Kenji said,” Jilboa replied casually.
To start with, he began with songs. He gathered about ten bards, offered rewards, and had them compete in front of the members. Upon early selection of a song, he made the bard the exclusive entertainer of the regiment, having them sing during marches and training sessions. Afterwards, he leveraged his connections from his mercenary days to bring in an expert from the ceremonial office, teaching him the protocols for knightly departure ceremonies. Then, he hired a theater director to streamline the marching and refine the dialogue and movements, aiming to appeal more to the refined citizens.
Here’s the corrected version:
Thus, they began hosting marching and triumphal ceremonies about ten days ago. These events have garnered a strong reputation among the city’s entertainment-starved citizens. The impact stands in stark contrast to the occasional formal ceremonies conducted by aristocrats’ private soldiers or knights. The difference lies in the theatrical direction. After all, a cart bearing the head of a colossal monster was paraded through town. The weapons and armor of the regiment’s warriors bore authentic medals of honor, testament to their intense battles. The handsome leader then delivered a polished, charismatic speech. The members responded by pounding their swords against their shields and stomping their feet. The city’s citizens were completely enthralled by the Sword Fangs Legion’s martial and stylish appeal.
As a result, city girls ended up helping out at the office. When women enter male-dominated organizations, the atmosphere can change dramatically. While I had been the catalyst, seeing the actual scene left me with a strange feeling. It wasn’t that I was jealous of the good-looking man or anything.
