Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Regaining my composure, I turned to the handsome captain. “It seems the regiment’s reputation has significantly improved.”

“We’re still only halfway there. But we’re making progress,” Captain Jilboa said happily.

Being acknowledged by society can profoundly change a person. In the narrow world of adventurers, the Sword Fangs Legion had some recognition, but in broader society, they were either feared or treated as handy tools by nobles. But now, they were being recognized by the city’s citizens. Cheers greeted them for their battles and achievements. Being part of that group filled them with pride. This experience greatly transformed the consciousness of the members. When one is praised as proud and elite, they strive to live up to that reputation. Lately, even in training and combat, it’s said the members’ demeanor has changed.

“Your advice was helpful. I appreciate it,” Jilboa said.

“No, it’s your efforts. I couldn’t have achieved results this quickly,” I replied. That was my honest feeling. Jilboa’s initiative and leadership were truly remarkable. He listened to everyone’s opinions, and if he thought it was good, he took action immediately. It might not have been his personal bravery but rather his attitude and proactive approach that made him a legendary figure.

After a brief chat, I steered the conversation back to the original reason for my visit. “I’ve completed a pair of shoes for adventurers. I’d like to hear your opinion as a top-tier clan,” I said, presenting the sample adventurer shoes I had brought along. It took me a month of hard work to produce the prototype for mass production.

“They’re sturdy but plain, aren’t they? Are they something like a cross between boots and shoes? And the soles are thick. They have laces, too. Quite an unusual shoe,” remarked Swiberry upon seeing the shoes.

“Also, the inner lining is thick, and the toe is reinforced. What kind of leather is this?” Jilboa seemed curious about the materials and construction.

“Swiberry, could you try wearing these shoes? I’d like to hear your opinion,” I asked.

I actually wanted the captain to try them on, but getting feedback from the vice-captain, who oversees the operational units, would provide valuable input for development.

Trying to get him to wear the shoes was quite a challenge at first, as the locals here don’t usually wear socks unless they’re in cold climates. However, I insisted on him wearing socks to improve the fit of the shoes. After getting him to put on the shoes, I tied the shoelaces.

“Even though they’re shoes, the mechanism feels oddly like sandals,” Swiberry commented on the insole. “It’s like there’s carpet inside the shoes.”

When I asked him to walk in the shoes, Swiberry’s expression changed.

“Hey, these are amazing. It feels like walking on a top-quality carpet, even though I’m walking on a hard floor,” he exclaimed.

Jilboa’s eyes also lit up. “How about their durability? Will they hold up during battle?” he inquired.

“They’re perfectly secure, thanks to the ankle-high design. They fit snugly and securely with the laces tightened. It feels like the shoe and foot are bonded with glue,” I added. “As for the toes, they’re made with special leather. They should withstand getting stepped on or hit by weapon handles without causing injuries,” I explained further.

“I see! So kicking with these won’t hurt at all. Despite being leather shoes, the toes are like greaves,” Swiberry said enthusiastically as he tapped the floor with his toes. He doesn’t seem to care if the floor gets damaged.

“In addition, the shoes have different shapes for left and right. They’re wider around the toes to prevent discomfort when swordsmen brace themselves,” I continued.

“Ah, I see! They do provide good bracing!” Swiberry exclaimed. “Wait here a moment,” he said and ran out of the office while still wearing the shoes.
