Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 35
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
“Ah, and one more thing,” I added. “It would be wise to hire someone of noble birth. There are always younger sons without a place to go. Train them, integrate them into your ranks, and use them as hostages against the nobility. Even if they can’t be used on the front lines, you’ll need scribes who can write and understand noble scripts and documents for dealings with remote nobles. Captain Jilboa needs to be able to read and comprehend them too.”
“…Kenji, just who are you,” Jilboa asked in a chilling tone, sending a shiver down my spine.
Damn. Maybe I got a bit carried away.
But it turned out my worries were unfounded.
“In other words, you want to turn the Sword Fang Legion into a knight order, right?” Jilboa is really good at getting to the heart of things. If this person had been born into the noble class, he would have been fit to command a front-line army.
Therefore, we must not settle for treating this mercenary captain of a town in such a poor manner.
“That’s right. You are knights specialized in dealing with monsters in peacetime. Even when there is no war, you are warriors with special skills who always stand on the battlefield. Present it in this way and make the nobles accept you. Training, deployment procedures, uniform equipment, and victory celebrations should all be done like a knight order. Create a reputation to use as a shield so you won’t be treated as mere mercenaries by the nobles.”
Jilboa seemed to be silent for a moment, lost in thought.
It’s not certain that all of the proposals I spoke about in one go had reached him. Still, there shouldn’t have been any impractical measures.
I believe the Sword Fang Legion can reach even higher, can go even further, and I spoke with the intention of choosing realistic measures that would assist with that, in a way that wouldn’t require much in the way of a budget.
Now, I can only wait to see how Captain Jilboa evaluates the future of the Sword Fang Legion that I presented.
