- Chapter 26 - The Sword Fang Corps's Battle Tactics
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
To begin with, the Sword Fang Corps was founded twelve years ago.
At that time, their young leader, Chef Jilboa, was in his early 20s and was a feared mercenary renowned for his powerful magic sword and swordsmanship, keeping the vicinity free of enemies.
Those who admired him, mercenaries and adventurers alike, gathered around him. During wartime, they operated as a mercenary group, and during peacetime, they established themselves as adventurers, repeatedly accomplishing difficult missions. In no time, they grew into the top clan in the city.
The battle tactics of the noble are thoroughly orthodox and cohesive. One might even call it an unconventional approach for adventurers.
Infantry armed with magically blessed sword shields and armor form the vanguard, while the rear guard wields powerful crossbows from a distance, turning the enemy into a hedgehog.
In case of close-quarters combat, while the vanguard holds off the enemy, the middle guard armed with polearms and battle axes shatter or hook the opponent’s shields or scales. The rear guard reloads their crossbows with heavy quarrels and divides to support the vanguard from both sides. It’s as if thirty individuals fight like a single organism.
Chef Jilboa always stands at the forefront, inspiring his comrades. They are trained and equipped to maintain their effectiveness whether in groups of five, ten, or twenty—a testament to their opulent and refined combat style.
I was left in awe.
