Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 23
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
The Sword Fang Corps
A top clan known to all adventurers in this town.
It has about 30 members. They might even join wars if requested.
I’ve heard they prioritize combat over exploration.
Becoming their vice-captain gives one a significant status among adventurers.
Indeed, Sarah’s eyes were like those of a fan facing an idol.
However, the skinny man in front of her, Swiberry, didn’t have the slightest bit of the sweet aura of an idol.
Sharp green eyes, a slash on the left cheek, and trimmed short brown hair marked his features, accompanied by a palpable aura of danger. The sword at his waist appeared to be magical, its sheath adorned with exquisite grass patterns.
I’ve been wondering about the shoes other people are wearing lately, so I looked and saw that he was wearing lace-up sandals, but they seemed to be the type that covered the top of the foot with some kind of leather—so flimsy and uncomfortable.
“So you’re Kenji. I hear you’ve been up to something interesting lately. I’ve been hearing various things from our rookies. I’m Swiberry of The noble. I’m the vice-captain.”
Interesting things, huh? I hope it’s good rumors.
“I’m Kenji. I give business advice to adventurers. The shoe-making I’m currently working on is part of that.”
After the handshake, he looked like he didn’t want to talk in public, so I rented out a corner of a nearby bar to listen to what he had to say. I guess an office might be necessary after all.
I sat down, moistened my lips with a little sake, and got straight to the point.
“So, what does the vice-captain of the top clan The noble need?”
Swiberry seemed unexpectedly hesitant as he slowly began.
“There has been significant turmoil within our group recently. It feels like things aren’t going smoothly. Two of our members sustained serious injuries in the last battle, with one now retiring. He was a valuable soldier. Lately, our approach to accepting requests has been somewhat reckless, and we haven’t been conducting adequate research beforehand. That said, it’s not like we’re not making any money from it. Our leader, Chef, has started saying he wants to retire soon, which might be causing some of the younger guys to act out. There are also rumors of people being poached. Well, we’re not educated, but I know we can’t continue like this indefinitely. I’m just not sure what exactly is going wrong. Sarah mentioned that you’re highly educated, so I thought I’d listen to your perspective…”
As the organization expands, the issues become more complicated. It seems that for the first time in a while, I’ll need to get serious about advising an adventurer party on their business. More importantly, if I can effectively manage to support The noble, I might be able to get my business on the right track.
“All right, why don’t you give me the details at your place?”
With Swiberry guiding me, I decided to head to the Clan’s office.
