Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 44
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
After a while, Sarah descended from the second floor, still groggy-eyed.
“Good morning. You’re up early,” she said.
“I’m just normal. It’s you who’s slow for an adventurer,” I replied.
“Well, I haven’t had that much ale in a while…”
Well, I suppose there are various things to deal with when you’re a woman adventuring alone. Having the opportunity to drink safely and comfortably in town is undoubtedly valuable from both a financial and security standpoint. The fact that she stayed over in my room also speaks volumes about how much she trusted me, at least enough not to worry about her valuables being stolen.
“Oh, tea!” Sarah exclaimed, eagerly requesting some. I informed the innkeeper, who promptly brought us hot water in cups. We talked while sipping tea.
“So, have you decided what to do about the offer from the Sword Fang Corps?” Sarah asked.
“Yeah, I’ve decided not to join them,” I replied. Sarah nodded happily.
“I won’t join their ranks, but I’ll take their requests. As long as they’re in town, I’ll support them. They’ll probably base themselves here for another couple of years. During that time, I need to build other local connections.”
I had declared my intention to work hard and expand my business in this town, but Sarah responded with an indifferent reply: “I don’t really get it, but if that’s your decision, it’s fine, right?” I couldn’t tell if she trusted me or not.
“First, I’ll get the shoe-making business on track. I’m going to inspect things a bit, so you can come along. Since we don’t have any requests today, I’ll treat you to breakfast.”
“Ugh… We’re going to Leather Street… It smells there. Also, you’re paying for lunch and the hot bath to clean up,” Sarah negotiated.
“Fine. I’ll even treat you to a sauna bath. Those folks there can be rough, so having a woman like you around might help,” I said.
“Well, if you put it that way, I guess I have no choice. I’ll come along,” Sarah agreed. She promptly ordered more ale and barley porridge.
