Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 15
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
There’s a reason why I’m particular about shoes.
For adventurers, walking is their livelihood. They walk to the requested location, fight monsters, and walk back. If they can’t walk anymore, they can no longer be adventurers. That’s why I had to quit being an adventurer after taking an arrow to my knee.
“The quality of shoes directly affects an adventurer’s life.”
It’s not just my intuition. I discovered this while looking at the notes recorded during the tour guide. According to the data, 40% of injuries among novice adventurers occur while traveling to their destinations. These are people who have only walked rural roads or city streets, stepping into caves or rocky areas with cheap sandals and injuring their feet.
Injured feet make movement difficult, let alone fighting. If one person in a party of 3-5 beginners injures their foot, it significantly reduces the party’s combat capability. They might also step into deep undergrowth and cut the top of their foot on grass, or get bitten by a snake.
Experienced ranger scouts wouldn’t face such issues, but most of these beginners were recently farming on farmland. They haven’t experienced the true dangers of living in the wild, where monsters roam. By the time they do, they’re stuck, unable to move forward with festering wounds or incapacitated comrades. Pushing damaged and festering feet too hard can lead to illness or permanent disability.
I want to reduce these unfortunate accidents. Coming from the countryside with hopes high, only to sprain their ankle and die on their first job—that kind of ending is just too tragic.
Those poor, budding novice adventurers may be foolish, but I want to give them a chance to live more robustly and die heroically. As I accompanied them on their shopping trips, it seems I’ve developed a soft spot for them. They may be rough and dirty and lacking education, but they deserve the right to start their careers under better conditions.
