Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 14
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Sarah looked at her feet and asked rudely, “Are you sick or something?”
“You idiot! It’s your shoes! Your shoes!”
“Come to think of it, you’ve always worn those weird clunky shoes.”
While Sarah wore lace-up sandals in the city, she switched to wooden clogs on rainy days. In the First Class District, nearly every road was paved with cobblestones, but in our Third Class District, side roads were often muddy and exposed. When going on adventures, the basic choice was lace-up sandals. Long distances were tough without lightweight footwear, and most people from rural backgrounds had walked barefoot as children, so sandals were comfortable for walking on roads.
Furthermore, the wooden clogs in this world were incredibly uncomfortable. There was no distinction between left and right, causing pain if your toes hit the front. The only difference was whether the toe was stylishly pointed or bluntly round. On top of that, there was no concept of shoelaces. When wooden clogs didn’t fit, people stuffed cloth scraps in them to make it fit. If they were still too loose, you had to tie the whole shoe with a rope. Since there was no concept of arch support, walking long distances was exhausting.
In other words, during adventures, you could easily become fatigued from long-distance travel, step on sharp rocks and pierce through sandals, or slip and sprain your ankle wearing wooden clogs. If these happened while you were moving, it was manageable. But what if it happened while you were trying to dodge goblin attacks?
During my time as an adventurer in my original party, despite being looked at strangely by my companions, I was particular about my shoes and had them custom-made by a shoemaker. In this world, I’m the only one wearing shoes resembling modern military boots. I want to popularize these outdoor shoes among new novice adventurers.
