Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 16
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Making shoes for adventurers. Popularizing them.
On paper, it’s only that, but it’s an immense task. Novice adventurers are poor because they lack knowledge. Shoes are undeniably useful once you try them on, but given the same amount of money, they’d choose to improve their weapons instead. And then they get injured on the rocks, slip on the mud during battle, and die.
It’s a stupid thing to say, but the moment they stop being stupid is when they graduate from being novices. In other words, all beginners are fools. Sarah seems to agree with that opinion.
“I’m an archer and hunter, so I understand what you’re saying. Bushes and snakes are scary, and if there were good shoes available, I’d want to wear them. But your shoes must be expensive, right?”
“Yeah. My shoes cost two large copper coins.”
After all, I had to start with making a mold of my foot. Then, I sandwiched the inner leather and wooden insole with glue, attached the outer leather, and added a wooden heel with embedded iron spikes. The shoe molds are separate for left and right feet, with holes and laces covering up to the ankles. It’s a product of complete over-technology in this world.
Thanks to these shoes, I could handle long-distance missions and never slip in the rain during sword battles. I could step confidently even in caves and rocky areas. They’ve been my reliable partner supporting my short adventurer’s life.
“I see… You were indeed petite for a frontline fighter, but you had good footwork and could walk lightly even on long missions. There’s a secret in those shoes of yours. But… I can’t afford two large copper coins,” Sarah sighed.
