Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

I’ll do something about the disabled.

After hearing my decision, Sarah timidly spoke up.

“Um… does that mean donating to the church?”

The church provided meals for the disabled and the poor, operated clinics for treating the injured, and generally supported the needy. It was customary in this world for those who became moderately wealthy or held influential positions to donate a portion of their income to the church. So, Sarah’s question was a natural response.

But my view was different.

“Why should I donate to those fat priests?”

The church managed church registers, overseeing births, marriages, and funerals in their parish. Adventurers were outsiders to this system, which naturally led to strained relations.

Back when I was an adventurer, I had my share of unpleasant experiences. As long as I’m alive, there’s no way I’m going to donate to the church.

Besides, even if I did donate, most of it would vanish into the priests’ pig costumes or into their pockets as bribes. It would be considered generous if even 5% of the donations went towards actual charitable works.

“I’m thinking about prevention. It’s better if they don’t get injured in the first place.”

“Well, that makes sense, but… are you thinking of getting into armor trading? I think you should reconsider…”

Sarah’s concern was valid.

Armor manufacturing was a major privilege with strong connections to both the Blacksmiths’ Guild and the Leatherworkers’ Guild. Additionally, armor management was closely tied to military affairs. If a drifter like me started meddling in armor trading without permission, it wouldn’t end well.

“I know. I won’t get involved in armor. This is what I’m thinking of doing.”

Saying that, I pointed at her feet.
