Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 12
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
“Occupying a corner of the inn that day, I was writing amidst guiding tours when Sarah walked in.
“Hey, I brought the reservation forms! Wait, what’s this? A spellbook!?”
“No, it’s a record ledger for guides and memo notes.”
“Hmm… How many sheets are there? Parchment is expensive, isn’t it?”
It’s true that parchment is useless for an adventurer living day to day. They generally rely on memory, which is surprisingly good among the people of this world, partly due to low literacy rates.
“Well, it’s not that expensive compared to plant paper. It’s just a habit. I was curious, so I’ve been compiling data.”
“What are you curious about?”
“Well, a lot of things. Like how many adventurers we guide in a day, how many of them return safely, and how many of those returning have used our services again…”
“Why do you care about such things?”
“Well, it measures the satisfaction of our current business. And also, it’s for considering a new business.”
“A new business? Despite this one being so popular?”
Sarah widened her eyes in surprise. It was a reasonable reaction.
“What bothers me is this: It’s about those who don’t come back safely. What happens to them? Most have minor injuries, but there are many who suffer major wounds or receive poor treatment and end up losing limbs. They live the rest of their lives as disabled. I want to do something for them,” I said.
Sarah looked at me with a gaze that seemed to be seeing something unexpected.
