Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 264
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
I think about various things, but I can’t immediately increase production. Lowering the quality to increase production would be counterproductive. Therefore, we need alternative measures besides increasing production.
“If we can’t keep up with the increased production, we have to extend the delivery time. The production will increase each month, so we can only buy time.”
When I suggest this, Sara interjects with a question. “But the people pushed back will be dissatisfied, right?”
“That’s why we will offer favorable prices to the inter-city merchants who are willing to wait for the delivery. Specifically, the later they are in line, the cheaper it will be.”
If they can wait for the delivery, we will lower the price. This is something that is actually done in my original world.
Either way, if we increase the production of shoes, the supply in the market will rise, and the prices of the shoes will drop. It’s perfectly fine to finalize transactions here with the expectation of lower prices.
“If it’s cheaper, there might be some people who will accept it.”
“Moreover, producing the guardian shoes takes less time than delivering the high-end pioneer shoes for the clergy. There are also fewer size variations. The production quantity should increase compared to now.”
“That’s true.” After nodding, Sara realizes something and adds, “But we also have to make pioneer shoes for the wealthy in this town, right? Anne will surely be eager to take orders.”
“Yeah. However, since those are luxury items, there’s no need to produce them in bulk. Rather, knowing Anne, she will likely limit the production quantity to drive up the price.”
“…I can kind of imagine that.” Sara agrees with the image I paint.
◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇
From that day onward, in addition to checking the production status of the shoes for the clergy, I become incredibly busy with tasks such as purchasing land for increased production, hiring new craftsmen, and arranging shoe workshops to outsource repairs.
If Sara hadn’t taken over the factory management duties, I would probably collapse for real.
“It’s strange. The more I work, the more work I get.” I mutter this while looking at the mountain of parchment piled on my office desk with bleary eyes from lack of sleep.
Even if I entrust the procedure for purchasing the neighboring workshop to the church, I can’t immediately utilize that building as a workshop.
If we don’t design the workflow to make it easier for the craftsmen to work and deliver, a spacious workshop might end up reducing productivity.
We need to renovate the existing building, knock down the wall between the two workshops, and put up pillars to maintain strength. I have to request the design for that, supervise it, and place orders. Also, I need to arrange personnel to move out unnecessary equipment and furniture from the purchased workshop and clean it up. Furthermore, I must prepare alternative housing so that the craftsmen who sell the workshop don’t lose their citizenship… all of these tasks are simultaneously being thrown at me.
“It kind of reminds me of when we started the company,” Sara says while making tea.
If I remember correctly, at that time, we rolled into Gorgoro’s workshop relying only on prototype shoes and a guarantee from Jilboa.
Even though it is just about a year ago, it feels like a long time ago.
Compared to then, I now have many companions, customers, funding, connections, and achievements.
Thinking of it this way, I want to say that this level of work is nothing, but I can’t help but wish that some companions would show up to help me deal with this mountain of paperwork.
