In heroic-style comics, the savior arrives upon a plea.
In shonen-style comics, our allies arrive upon a plea.
In shoujo-style comics, the Prince Charming arrives upon a plea.
In bizarre-style comics, when a plea is made… no one arrives.
(by Lufulus)

My name is Tapfer, and I am a Level 9 Hero.

Last time, although I only eliminated some Trolls and a Troll King, it seems that Rei and the others managed to defeat some high-level boss, which caused my level to rise significantly.

“I was planning to defeat the king of Ape Wing Mountain, then head north to the guild for a rest… but that now seems impossible!”

Hearing Rei say that, I’m even more convinced that she didn’t lose her way and intentionally brought us on this path!

Since it was already late, we decided to spend the night in a village at the mountain’s base and continue north in the morning.

It was a very small village with only about a dozen people. Strangely, there were scarcely any fields and the livestock seemed insufficient to support the entire village population.

“Was there a village here before?” Haitang asked suddenly. “I remember this place was just a stretch of open land.”

“Whether it’s scenery or people… everything in the world is constantly changing. You wouldn’t be such a fool if you didn’t spend so much time holed up in the guild!”

Whoa, Rei is picking on Fool again… oops, I mean, Rei is picking on Haitang again!

Just after we entered the village, a short figure was already approaching us from ahead.

Ah, she looks so cute, I wish I could… add her to the team!

In short, the one who came to greet us looked like a semi-mature lolita around fourteen years old.

To describe her in more detail, she had bright, shiny blonde hair (as dazzling and beautiful as mine) tied in a single ponytail on the left, with the ends gently resting on her shoulder. Compared to her delicate features, the heavy armor she wore appeared even more burdensome, with the only piece that wasn’t heavy armor being the short skirt!

Golden hair, red eyes, coupled with armor all in red, it was hard not to draw attention. Moreover, she was as cute as me, leaving me momentarily stunned.

That said, her allure does not overwhelm me as much as the Demon King’s, at least I can still breathe easily in her presence.”Welcome to Velur Village, my name is Lufulus Xeochi.”

“A surname…” Rei muttered quietly.

“Hmm?” Lufulus Xeochi seemed to hear the whisper and asked, “What’s the matter with having a surname?”

“It’s nothing. Usually, only descendants of noble families inherit surnames. I was just wondering… why would someone like you be willing to stay in such a small village?”

“Oh?” Lufulus Xeochi showed an indescribable smile. “That’s quite a strange question!”

She elaborated, “If I were still part of a noble family, I ought to share in the hardships of the common folk; if I am no longer of noble descent, then it’s not impossible that I’ve settled here for a long stay, is it?”

“Ah… that makes sense.”

Is it just my imagination, or is Rei a bit overly suspicious today?

It seems she harbors a bit of hostility towards Lufulus.

“I am the leader of this village, something like the village chief! But please don’t call me ‘village chief’, it feels so old.”

“Then we’ll call you…”

“Lufu-chan!” Lufulus suddenly shouted, interrupting Tapfer’s words.

Uh… isn’t that a bit too intimate?

Even though I do want some “close contact” with her, this is a bit too forward, isn’t it?

“Hey, please call me Lufu-chan, okay?” She looked at the three of us expectantly.

Faced with the adorable semi-mature lolita, Tapfer responded to her expectation, a bit shyly addressing her as “Lufu-chan.”

In return, Lufulus promised to let the three spend the night in the village’s finest guest room.

♀ ♀ ♀

That night.

We moved into Velur Village’s finest guest room, which was well-ventilated and pleasing in view—a somewhat rundown wooden cabin where I could almost feel the cold wind blowing in from outside!

But the sensation of cold only lasted a few minutes, because after catching sight of a certain scene, I was engulfed in a dizzying heat…

“Why are you half-naked, Haitang?!”

I yelled aloud, pointing at the bluish-green-haired lolita wearing just a pair of tights.

Just as I tried to steady myself, I noticed the faint blue and white striped underwear showing through the tights… Haitang, are you testing my willpower?!”□□, emptiness is form… Calm down, Tapfer! Calm down!” I kept convincing myself not to act like a perverted old man.

“I… my equipment got damaged, so I just asked Rei to see if anyone in the village could fix it for me!”

Haitang mumbled innocently.

Logically, it shouldn’t be possible to have only one set of equipment. With today’s advanced storage technology, a palm-sized backpack (can that even be called a backpack?) can hold around fifty items.

Huh? You’re asking how that’s possible?

First, this is a fantasy novel—four-dimensional storage is common knowledge. Additionally, this is an RPG, so having a backpack that can hold many tools and equipment is quite normal.

She should have some equipment for wearing during downtime or other clothing to change into… Could she be intentionally teasing me?

In any case, I should ask first.

“Don’t you have a change of clothes in your backpack? Most people have at least two or three sets of clothes to change into!”

“!”

Hey, what’s with that sudden look of realization? Don’t tell me you forgot!

“Oh right, I forgot there are clothes in my bag!”

“…”

As expected, she actually said that… Where do I even start with this?

She began rummaging through her backpack and soon pulled out a white front-buttoned short dress that looked very similar to the previous set she wore—no, it was exactly the same.

“I really like this outfit—Hawthorn White Robe.”

Hawthorn, I’ve seen that name in books before. It’s apparently another name for Papaya Haitang.

I see, she likes it because it shares her name?

“Rei is so slow…” Haitang said as she looked out the window.Actually, there was no need to look out the window; the house was so run-down that you could see outside directly through the wooden walls!

“You should sleep first. I’ll go out and look for Rei.”

“No, it’s late. It’s not suitable for a child to go out. I should go instead!”

Tapfer stopped Haitang, instructing her to stay inside and sleep. Besides, if Haitang didn’t go to bed by nine o’clock, she would be sluggish the next day.

After coaxing her to sleep, Tapfer left the wooden house.

♀ ♀ ♀

……

Can’t sleep.

Since Rei went out with the useless hero sister, I haven’t closed my eyes.

Listening quietly to the sound of the wind blowing in from outside, suddenly, mixed in with the wind, was the sound of heavy yet faint footsteps.

“Rei?” I called out towards the door, but there was no response.

Did I hear it wrong?

Thinking this, I got up from the bedding laid out on the floor and walked toward the door.

Just as I reached out to open the door, my vision was filled with a blood-red color.

——!

What happened?

At that moment, I couldn’t comprehend the situation, even when I saw my once outstretched… now severed right hand lying by the door. I couldn’t understand.

Was that blood just now spilling from the severed part of my right hand?

It seemed the pain reached its peak, and my nerves were already numb, unexpectedly leaving me without any sensation of pain.

Instead, I felt fear.

“My hand… my hand…!?”

The blood-red appeared a second time.

A long sword pierced through the door panel and stabbed into my right shoulder.

Finally, I understood that whoever was outside the door was not a friendly visitor, and I tried to cast a spell to retaliate.”The blazing seraphim, the one who commands heat from the divine throne… Ugh, ahhh—!”

Before I could finish the incantation, a sweeping strike from the opponent knocked me to the ground.

Lying prone, I could only see crimson armored boots.

Could it be…?

“Hey, hey, that was unexpectedly easy, huh?”

“Lufu…lus…?”

“Just look at you, like a bug. What’s wrong? Hurry and counterattack, use ‘Fairy Magic Elemental Water’! Wenger!”

As she spoke, she kicked me viciously in the abdomen, sending me flying three feet away and causing me to spit out a lot of blood.

I can’t… With my current magic power, there’s no way to unleash that level of Fairy Magic, and there’s no time to chant a higher-level spell.

The only thing I can do now is—

“‘Unicorn Thrust’!”

A low-level spell requiring no chant.

A magic circle appeared above Lufulus’ head, and before she could react, a triangular prism descended from the circle like a unicorn’s horn.

Even as a low-level spell, a direct hit to the head would likely cause significant damage, wouldn’t it?

Yet, unbelievably, the result was otherwise — merely a light injury… It was incredible; she stood there completely unscathed.

“How… is that possible?”

Sensing danger, I retreated until my back hit the wall, unable to move further, and launched another spell — a fireball spell.

It descended from above, targeting the vulnerable spot — right atop her head, yet as the fireball approached her head closely, it shattered into fragments, spreading light and heat like an umbrella.

“!?”

The shock and the post-spell rigidity left me momentarily frozen. Of course, a low-level spell’s rigidity lasted less than half a second, but the real reason was the former.

In that gap, a thrust aimed at me.

As the sword neared my body, I released a spell to deflect it, but the proximity caused me to fall back to the ground.

She then kicked me over while I sat on the ground, planting a foot on my chest, making it hard to breathe.”Ugh… ah…”

As if savoring my pathetic state, she slightly raised the corners of her mouth.

“Oh my, how adorable.”

She lifted the sword high in her hand, the tip aimed downward.

Her face displayed a malevolent grin.

“What… are you doing? No, no, no—!”

A sudden discomfort enveloped my abdomen, the cold sensation of the sword piercing into my body was unmistakable.

Most of my organs, especially my intestines, must have been punctured, right?

Blood mixed with intestinal fluids formed a viscous liquid, splattering everywhere as she withdrew the sword.

Within mere seconds of withdrawing it, she stabbed the sword in again. Over and over, my abdomen was riddled with countless bloodied holes of varying sizes.

My vision… was gradually blurring…

“…Help me… Someone… please save me…”

The only response to my plea was a fiendish smile.

At the same time, in the same place.

After dealing with the Shrine Maiden Mage, I arrived at the temporary lodging of the Swordfighter and another Mage.

Ah, I’m truly eager to find out what their blood will taste like. Could it be even more delicious than that of the Shrine Maiden just now?

“Rei?”

I barely reached the doorway when I heard someone inquire from inside.

Hmph, this one is quite sharp, isn’t she? Even though I deliberately suppressed my voice. However, this was fine—I began to think so after hearing footsteps approaching the door.

I swung my sword through the door in one fluid motion.

A brilliant scarlet color.

Amazing! Truly beautiful!

So beautiful that I couldn’t help myself. Yes! It should be like this; more, more blood!

Attack after attack, I finally brought my opponent to the ground. Lying there, she resembled a pitiful insect.

“Hey, hey, surprisingly fragile, aren’t you?”

“Louve… Luth…?”

“Look at you, in the form of an insect. What’s the matter? Quick, counterattack and use ‘Fairy Magic, Elemental Water,’ Wenger!”

There was no mistaking it, she was indeed the fairy I had encountered at Ape Wing Mountain back then.

As I spoke, I delivered a powerful kick to her abdomen, sending her flying three feet away, coughing up an impressive amount of crimson blood.

“Unicorn Thrust!”

Magic—!?

I was too careless; if that had hit directly, even I could have been injured.

No! My Qi Gate Armor isn’t that fragile, but magic is different from sword skills. If it strikes me through the gaps in the armor…

Unexpectedly, those were needless worries.

The magic fell directly above me. Perhaps, being a “human” is the greatest weakness, yet for me, it was the best point of defense.Indeed, even without any armor for protection, harming me from above, through my head and shoulders, is nearly impossible.

“How… could this be?”

She retreated until her back was against the wall, then unleashed another spell.

Unfortunately, that person was even more inflexible than I anticipated; she released the magic vertically from directly overhead once more.

“?!”

The inevitable outcome was that I wasn’t at all harmed.

Taking advantage of her momentary daze, I lunged straight in her direction.

As the sword was about to make contact with her body, it was forcibly deflected by magic, but because of the close proximity of the attack, she fell to the ground.

Truly disappointing.

Kicking down the young girl with blue hair seated on the ground, I stepped on her chest.

I had thought you would be stronger.

Useless being, whether human or fairy, they are all just boring existences.

I am the strongest! Yes, I am the most powerful race in the world!

“Ha, hahaha—!”

I relentlessly stomped on this weakling.

Honestly, compared to this flat creature, it was more entertaining to trample the shrine maiden earlier, but ultimately, humans can’t endure such torment for long, and it ended quickly.

“Ugh… ah…”

However, this one had an advantage over that shrine maiden; her cries were unexpectedly pleasant.

“Oh, how adorable.”

Her voice further aroused my instincts, so I raised the sword in my hand high, then…

“What are you… going to do? …Ah, ahhhh—!”

I forcefully thrust it into her abdomen, and a sticky mixture of blood and entrails sprayed everywhere.Ah, truly beautiful.

Just like pounding rice cakes, the intestines were mashed beyond recognition, and it was impossible to tell blood from flesh at this point.

“…Help me… someone… please help me…”

Even after reaching such a state, she can still speak?

As expected of a fairy, much more enduring than a human!

“It’s about time for the Game Over.”

I spoke to the unconscious weakling, but really, it didn’t matter if I said anything or not, as her head would soon be severed.

“…Is this how it ends?”

The final strike was stopped, not by anyone else, but by myself.

If someone were to save this girl now, who could it be?

A hero? A prince? Or perhaps the swordswoman who was her companion? Speaking of which, where did that blonde swordswoman go?

According to the typical dramatic turn of events, shouldn’t she show up to save the day at the last moment?

“Ah, I see now.”

This is a world where no one is saved.

There is no hero, no prince, not even a so-called companion.

So, just go quietly to your death, fairy mage.
