“From now on, your name shall be Tapfer.”

A gentle yet authoritative female voice declared this.

Who? Whose voice is it?

“Inherit my name and become Tapfer ■■■.”

As she spoke, the gentle voice began to distort, the words pouring out as if mixed with something.

It was blood.

The viscosity of the blood interfered with the voice, making it sound so murky.

“Is it because of this reason that you have slain me?”

A bloody smile curled up at her lips.

There was no anger, no resentment, just a smile watching the daughter holding a weapon.

“Then follow what you desire, my daughter!”

She raised her weak hand to stroke the daughter’s soft blonde hair, a mother’s final act of tenderness.

The rest… was only blood red. This is a Role-Playing Game world, simply put, an RPG.

My name is Tapfer, and I am the hero of this world, but…

“Why do I have to run errands everywhere!?”

A simple village, with a few dozen wooden houses, mainly focused on farming, this village is called Olerjuna Village.

Surrounded by several wooden houses, a three-story building echoed with the protest above.

This building’s design is slightly different from the ordinary houses, designed in a Rococo style. If compared, it would be like a crane standing among chickens! It’s not a residence of some high-ranking official, nor a central city building (besides, this is just a small village), but a kind of reading room and library.

The sound coming from the library is a slightly low female voice, yet it carries a hint of childishness.

A girl dressed in a predominantly blue sailor outfit, with her long golden hair split into two parts at the back. Although she is already seventeen years old, she often gets mistaken for a child due to her baby face. She looks younger than her actual age, but her appearance isn’t particularly striking. If there’s any distinctive feature, it would be the two strands of hair on her head that resemble cockroach antennae!

The bald uncle, who forced the package into the girl’s hands, didn’t notice her simmering discontent and kept urging, “Hurry and deliver this to Old Wang in the next village,” or something along those lines.

As soon as he finished speaking, she protested immediately, “Why should I deliver the package for you? If you want to send something, go find a mailman!”

Having lived in this library for many years, the girl would casually peruse books when free, thus gaining knowledge beyond the basics.

“There is no mailman in this village. Just stop complaining. I’ll give you 10 EXP (experience points) when it’s done, okay?”

Having knowledge doesn’t equate to understanding current affairs. She rarely stepped out of the library and was unaware there was no mailman in her own village.

The bald uncle, digging his nose, spoke as if it were the most natural thing.

“That’s too little! The next village is far! Only 10 experience points?” The blonde girl was clearly dissatisfied with the reward.

According to the map, the distance to the neighboring village is, considering my pace, at least half a day one way, meaning a full day for a round trip. Spending a day battling monsters in the wild would earn far more than the 10 EXP offered!– Even though I’ve never actually fought a monster…

No matter how she thought about it, the girl felt it wasn’t worth it.

“The system’s settings are just like that, complaining to me is useless!” The bald uncle put on an innocent face, but not one that garners sympathy; instead, it exudes a sense of nausea.

“Alright, fine, I’ll do it!”

Sighing, she resigned herself to asking for the detailed task instructions. “Who am I delivering it to? If I remember correctly, it’s to someone named ‘Old Bastard’?”

“It’s Old Wang! When did I ever say it was Old Bastard?!”

The uncle was so exasperated he nearly flicked a booger onto her. How could a hero not even clearly hear the task details?

“You were just urging me continuously, ‘Hurry and take this to the next village for Old Bastard!’ How dare you say no?”

“You definitely misheard! Forget it, I’m not going to argue with you. Hurry up and deliver it! Old Wang needs to receive this by this afternoon; it’s urgent!”

He waved his hand, signaling the girl to get moving, or there would be no reward, though, she wasn’t particularly keen on those 10 experience points anyway.

Wait a minute, by this afternoon? It’s almost noon now, and you expect it to be delivered by the afternoon? Does he think I can fly or teleport?

The girl silently complained in her heart.

The uncle, as if hearing her silent complaints, said in a reprimanding tone, “Who told you not to put points into agility?”

“How do you even know what I’m thinking?”

“Because getting there would take half a day, delivering by this afternoon is simply impossible.”

“Are you messing with me? You knew it was impossible, yet you still want it by this afternoon!”

She nearly hurled the package directly at the bald uncle’s head but held back at the last moment, as heroes shouldn’t attack NPCs willy-nilly.

“But you’re a hero, right? Nothing should be too difficult for you, correct?” he said matter-of-factly.

“I’m a hero, not some mechanical cat! I’m not about to pull out an Anywhere Door!”

“The original term for Anywhere Door is ‘どこでもドア,’ with a product number of MD401-E, priced at 640,000 yen.”

“That’s not the point! Even if you tell me, I’m not going to buy it!”

♀ ♀ ♀

Unable to tolerate the bald man’s incessant nonsense any longer, the girl set off on her parcel delivery journey, while internally questioning whether she’s a hero or a postal courier. Could it be that heroes are naturally destined to be delivery runners?Hmm… although research indicates that as many as eighty percent of heroes start out as errand runners.

If anyone asked, “How does a girl who’s stayed in a library for years qualify as a ‘hero’?”, Tapfer would unhesitatingly respond, “Because everyone keeps sending me on errands!”

Aside from the name, that’s really the only qualifying factor.

Along the way, Tapfer filled the air with her self-talking complaints. If transcribed, they might span thousands of words—just hearing them would make one thirsty for her.

Upon leaving the outskirts of the village, a stream connecting Olerjuna Village with the neighboring one came into view—a crystal-clear river, adorned with flowers along the banks, giving the impression of stepping into a paradise.

Completely captivated, Tapfer was left speechless; something she couldn’t experience from a book.

As her gaze followed the river into the distance, a sight appeared that rendered her even more speechless. No, it wasn’t the scenery, but rather a silver-haired girl.

The girl gazed deeply at the shimmering water with her dark red eyes, a look of either waiting or loneliness on her face. Her knee-length hair swayed with the breeze, reflecting the water’s glow on the silver strands, creating an indescribable ethereal beauty.

Yet, it felt somewhat like a surreal dream.

“You…”

Noticing Tapfer, the girl slowly turned around, “Who are you?”

At that moment, Tapfer was captivated by her surroundings. From seeing the girl’s profile, she was already at a loss for words; now, locking eyes, facing each other directly, left her breathless.

Time seemed to stop, resuming only ten minutes later. The silver-haired girl was the first to move, bringing her face closer to Tapfer’s, having to stand on tiptoe due to a significant height difference.

This scene seemed almost like they were about to kiss!

To be honest, Tapfer’s instincts wanted to just kiss her, and if her body weren’t already immobilized, things might have taken an adult turn.

“Answer me, who are you?”

She questioned again, with a demanding tone.

It felt like a king questioning a subject, a command so authoritative that even if the subject was speechless, they had to speak.

Tapfer’s breathing slowly steadied as she shook her head, trying to gather her thoughts.

After nearly five minutes, she finally regained her composure enough to face the silver-haired girl without panic and was able to meet her gaze.

“I…”Swallowing hard, Tapfer took a deep breath, gathered her energy, and then…

“I like you! Be with me!”

A shout that had absolutely nothing to do with the question.

Moreover, it was an exceedingly shameless outburst. Someone, please call the police and take this sexual harassment offender away!

Faced with Tapfer’s outrageous remark, the silver-haired girl simply asked calmly, “Are you a hero?”

“I am a hero, yes. How did you know?”

“These days, it seems most heroes are perverts!”

“……”

Where should Tapfer even begin to complain about this? Just how much do you misunderstand and prejudge heroes? It’s not like it’s some work about Sengoku Rance, or Muv-Luv! Regular heroes are pure, kind, and virtuous!

Let me show you my friendliness, and you’ll soon want to join the hero’s team… I mean, hero’s party!

“Could you tell me if there’s any task you’d like to request?”

A professional smile, a perfect question, full marks!

See that? This is my professionalism as a hero! Compared to accepting requests from old men, I much prefer accepting tasks from girls and young women. And if the reward for the task included knocking them over, that would be even better!

Wahahaha! Please call me the “Unrestrained Perverted Yuri Hero”… No, wait! Why am I ruining my image here?

“Nope, Yui isn’t here to give a task. Yui is the Demon King—Lupamoroy.”

Saying this, the girl tilted her head back, arms crossed, looking very pleased with herself.

Demon King, huh…

Tapfer scrutinized her. The old, tattered crimson cloak hanging behind her did give off a slight aura of a Demon King, but besides that, there was absolutely nothing that made one believe she was the Demon King.

Is this girl cosplaying? Or is she just here to cause trouble?Furthermore, rather than being a Demon King, Tapfer thought the girl resembled more of a succubus type of entity. And it wasn’t without reason—she wore a white top with three rows of buttons, a skirt made of sheer black fabric, and mismatched garter stockings, too mature for her age.

Wasn’t she just tempting people to push her over?

The young girl thought, shaking her head vigorously, trying to dispel such impure thoughts. She then seriously asked the girl the reason for seeking her out.

“So, Yui…”

Just as she began to inquire, the girl immediately interrupted and protested, “It’s ‘Lupamoroy’!”

She puffed up her cheeks, placing her hands on her hips—looking exactly like a stubborn little child.

“But that name is quite long…”

“It’s the Demon King’s title!” she explained, “The name ‘Lupamoroy’ is composed of the initials of Lucifer (the Christian Demon King), Pazuzu (the Babylonian Demon King), Mara (the Buddhist Demon King), Ravana (the Hindu Demon King), and Iblis (the Islamic Demon King). It signifies the supreme Demon King!”

She puffed out her small chest, seemingly very proud of the title. However, the young girl couldn’t remember anything she had just said—never mind the origins, not even a single word.

“This name is just a title, right? So your real name is Yui, correct?”

“How do you know my real name!?” the girl suddenly shouted, appearing very surprised.

Weren’t you the one who mentioned it just now…? Could she be naturally dense?

The young girl silently mocked in her heart again.

Yui carefully replayed the previous conversation, realizing she hadn’t actually introduced herself by name to the girl: “Yui never told you my name!”

“Aren’t you saying it now?” There’s no way to even respond to this.

“…!”

The Demon King suffered 32 points of damage—not physical damage, but a blow to her childish, foolish heart.

The spiritually attacked Demon King went to one side and started drawing circles in the sand.

The hero’s side won and lived happily ever after… just kidding!

“Hey, come on, cheer up a bit! What kind of Demon King gets so shut down they draw circles on the ground!” The hero used encouragement on the Demon King!”You don’t understand! Dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy, dummy! All heroes are just big dummies! I hate you the most!”

Why did she suddenly become so unreasonable? Ah, now she’s crying!

“There, there, it’s okay. Don’t cry!” said the girl soothingly as she gently patted her head.

“Boohoo, stupid hero! Go away!”

While Yui said that, she neither pushed the girl’s hand away nor stopped her from patting her.

“My name is Tapfer. Now that we’ve both shared our names, we’re even, right?”

“Is your name also made up of something?” Yui wiped her tears with her fingers and asked, “Like, maybe the last parts of ‘egg tart’ and ‘cream puff’?”

“No, it’s not! What kind of overly sweet combination is that?” Tapfer exclaimed, explaining, “My name is German for ‘hero’.”

“Somehow…” Demon King Yui suddenly muttered to herself, “I feel like I’ve heard it somewhere before.”

“Hmm? Did you say something just now?”

“It’s nothing, nothing,” Yui said as she shifted her gaze to the package. “What’s that?”

“Huh?”

Tapfer also glanced at where Yui was looking, at the package she held in her right hand. Right! The package! What time is it now? Tapfer checked the menu and saw it was already 12 o’clock!

Although she didn’t care much about that bald uncle’s request, she really hated failing. Since she had accepted the task, she didn’t intend to end in failure.

“Yu…” Ah, she almost said her name again.

For now, she tried asking the Demon King for help: “Lupamoroy, can you do teleportation, spatial transfer, or something like that?”

“Of course! I’m the Demon King, after all!”

She agreed so readily, is there really such an agreeable Demon King?”But why should Yui help you?”

I was wrong. The Demon King isn’t so easy to persuade.

“Uh… just think about it, don’t heroes always receive help on their journeys?”

“But I’m a Demon King, and I’ve never heard of a Demon King helping a hero.”

…

Yui, you’re really not being sweet!

Arrgh, how am I supposed to convince the Demon King? Can someone quickly get me a strategy guide to reference?

…

Think, think… I couldn’t come up with anything.

Well, how could I possibly know how to win someone over on our first meeting? It’s not like I’m the main character in a harem story. What? You say even harem protagonists wouldn’t know these things, just being like a blockhead? Hmm… now that I think about it, that’s probably true.

Since I couldn’t think of a strategy and didn’t have the “Top Secret! Demon King Strategy Guide” on hand, I just stared blankly at the Demon King’s face.

Huh?

I think I’ve found the strategy guide, right above the top of the Demon King’s head—it’s the cat hair accessory used to tie her single ponytail on the left!

“Hey, I have a super large cat plush toy. I originally thought of giving it to you, but I left it in the neighboring village… Ahem, wouldn’t it be great if there were a teleportation spell to get it instantly?”

“Nyaa!?”

A reaction, there’s a reaction! It seems this trick is very effective!

Hehe, Demon King, you cat lover, you’re so easy to sway! Maybe I really do have a hidden skill, “Abduction LV.3.”

“You…”The Demon King, blushing, leaned closer: “Did you just say ‘cat plush toy’?”

“Yes, exactly! It’s really huge!”

Upon hearing my words, the Demon King looked so excited, nearly ecstatic—wait, what kind of expression is that to use? What I meant was… the Demon King seemed super high-spirited.

Great, we’re just one step away.

“Lord Lupamoroy, can you use teleportation or spatial transfer magic or something like that?”

“Yui, Yui wouldn’t be easily tricked by you into doing that! It’s not because of the cat plush toy at all! It just so happens that I need to go to the neighboring village, don’t misunderstand!”

“Yes, yes, you tsundere.”

“What? What’s a tsundere? Yui’s a Demon King!”

As she spoke, a teleportation magic circle appeared around her.

“Although it’s not for the cat plush toy, the teleportation fee will be the cat plush toy, so make sure Yui gets it! Definitely, okay?”

Coming back to my senses, we were suddenly in the neighboring village, coincidentally landing directly in front of Old Wang.

Although it’s not very important, I should mention that Old Wang is also a bald uncle, seemingly sharing the same character model as another. If there’s any difference, it would be his waist-length beard.

“Amazing, to travel such a great distance in an instant…!”

“Hehehe, this is only a small task for Yui!”

She lifted her chin proudly, looking very self-satisfied.

With her head up and eyes closed, it was so tempting to try and steal a kiss! No, I would never do such a thing! Besides, I’m not really into little girls, I just so happen to like young-looking girls!

Just as I shook off my silly thoughts, she stared daggers at me.

“Your expression looks perverted!”

She criticized me straightforwardly! No, no, no, I’m not a perverted hero! Being criticized by a Demon King, I have no face to show now!

“No!”I’m not thinking of anything improper or lewd!” said the hero, lying.

“But Yui can read minds, you know!” The lie failed as the Demon King used mind-reading.

“Then… what was I just thinking?” Tapfer asked, appearing a bit nervous.

“Ah, ah, so cute, I really want to seize the chance for a kiss!” The Demon King perfectly revealed the hero’s inner thoughts.

“Just as I hoped! Since you’re willing, I won’t hold back!”

The Demon King fell into the trap, and the hero stole a kiss from the Demon King! The Demon King lost her first kiss and fell into a state of panic.

Old Wang, witnessing this scene from the side, was blinded (dazzled by the brightness) and took 52 points of damage.

“Wahhh! Nosebleed! Nosebleed! Quick, give me some tissues!”

Old Wang will lose 10 HP every turn.

Remarkably, the hero ignored Old Wang and continued kissing the Demon King.

“Mmm… so sweet, Yui, Yui…”

Their lips intertwined.

Their hearts resonated.

Something seemed to be mixed with the saliva, flowing into my body.

Ah, this is…

▁▂▃ (Resonance).

My head began to feel dizzy, followed by an excruciating pain, but I had no intention of stopping. On the contrary, I wanted even more to absorb everything from Yui.

▁▂▃▄ (Resonance).Something flowed into my body along with the bodily fluids, stimulating my nerves as if it were an electric current.

“!”

A sudden jolt brought me back to reality, where in front of me was Yui, crying and repeatedly calling me an “idiot”. With a voice almost choked with tears, she said, “You- you have to take responsibility for Yui!”

Why is she saying such lines as if she had been wronged?

But it doesn’t matter, this is fine too.

“I understand. I will take full responsibility for you, Yui. Marry me!”

In response to my promise, she was stunned, but only for a few seconds before recovering, then…

“You idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot, idiot! I hate heroes the most!”

She called me an idiot several times in one breath. Doesn’t she even need to breathe?

Just as I was about to make a sarcastic remark, Yui completely disappeared from my sight.

The bond of fate between us was thus… tied.
