Chapter 5: A Dark Moonlit Night! The Killers on a Rainy Night!

The three men directly scaled the bamboo fence surrounding the courtyard, heading towards Su Hao’s room. In one of the rooms of the small courtyard, Su Hao lay on his bed, asleep. However, the thunder accompanying the rain of the night made it hard to sleep soundly. Suddenly, his ears perked up as he heard a faint sound amidst the rain—someone was opening the window and climbing into the room!

Inside the room, there was an additional figure, a man soaked to the skin. He removed the bolt from the door, and the other two men skillfully opened the door, clearly not their first time doing this.

“Who are you?”

Su Hao awoke, sat up in bed, his body tense, and shouted in a low voice.

On such a thunderous, stormy night, the sudden intrusion of more than one person into his room undoubtedly raised alarm and fear! He was well aware that the world outside was extremely chaotic, with homicides occurring frequently, and people going missing!

“It’s me.”

Among the three, the young man was slightly surprised that Su Hao was so alert as to wake up from such a minimal sound. However, he spoke slowly, showing no signs of panic.

“Is that you, Sun Feng?”

With the faint light from outside, Su Hao recognized the young man’s face and immediately frowned.

Sun Feng was someone Su Hao knew; he was also a member of the Zhao Family Blacksmith Shop and had recently become a prospective blacksmith. However, the two men beside him—the scar-faced man and the bald, muscular man—appeared unfamiliar to Su Hao, and all three were armed, holding short sticks and carrying daggers, indicating that their intentions were not friendly.

“Brother Sun… is there something you need at this late hour? If you need money… I have two or three taels of silver that I can give you.”

Su Hao’s heart raced with caution, but he forced a smile on his face, pretending to be scared, trying to figure out the purpose of their visit.

“What do you think we came for?””You brat, you’re quite handsome, and those wealthy young masters with peculiar tastes love that. Plus, you can forge and you’re a vulnerable orphan—there are people willing to pay a hefty price for you!” Sun Feng said, with a smirk that was both mocking and insinuating, revealing a trace of malice and jealousy in his eyes.

Having both joined the Zhao Family Blacksmith Shop, Sun Feng’s talent was mediocre; after two or three years of hard work, he had barely become a prospective blacksmith. However, Su Hao was exceptionally gifted, capable of forging a Ten-Refinement Weapon in less than a year, which promised a bright future for him. This naturally incited immense jealousy in Sun Feng, leading him to take malicious action.

“Dao Ye, Hu Ye, let’s make our move together; this kid will definitely fetch a good price!” Sun Feng then added, showing a hint of respect to the scar-faced man and the man in gray.

The scar-faced man, known as Chen Dao and referred to as Dao Ye, had some notoriety in Crouching Tiger Town. People tended to stay away from him because he was involved in the slave trade, providing a means for those in hopeless situations to sell themselves.

Jealous of Su Hao, Sun Feng reached out to Chen Dao, informing him of a prime “merchandise” that would surely sell for a high price. After some consideration, Chen Dao realized that Su Hao had no relatives, and if he went missing, nobody would bother to look for him. Their interests aligned perfectly, leading to tonight’s events.

Taking advantage of the late-night storm, the three of them made their way here, and their intentions were all too clear.

“These bastards…”

Listening to the conversation, Su Hao understood that they regarded him as mere merchandise. Rage and murderous intent surged within him. What Chen Dao and the others were doing was no different from human trafficking, and they deserved to be tortured a thousand times over!

“Alright, let’s subdue him first.”

The bald, muscular man on the left said indifferently. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a damp cloth soaked with a knockout drug, capable of rendering a person unconscious within a few breaths if pressed over their mouth and nose.

“It’s best if you don’t resist; it’ll save you some suffering.”

The bald man took heavy steps towards Su Hao, threatening him, while the other two blocked the door, cornering Su Hao against the bed.

“Then… let’s kill them all!”

A fierce anger burned within Su Hao. Ever since he had crossed over, he had been at the bottom of society, striving tirelessly to improve his life and control his own destiny. He had always been kind to others, but now Chen Dao, Sun Feng, and the others wanted to sell him into slavery. Su Hao felt the only solution was to eliminate them all!

His eyes blazing with fury!

Faced with the approaching bald man, Su Hao suddenly sprang into action. He pushed off the bed, like a wrathful deity, propelling himself up with overwhelming strength, every muscle bursting with power, he lunged forward, his right fist compressing the air with a thunderous roar, trailing a series of afterimages as he charged ahead.

“What?”

The bald man’s pupils contracted slightly; he had been on guard for Su Hao’s counterattack. Yet, even with some preparation, facing Su Hao’s punch felt like standing before a Vajra charging at him. A sense of helplessness overwhelmed him as the heavy fist slammed squarely into his chest.

“Crack!”

At that moment, as the fist descended, the bald man felt a piercing pain surge through him, as if he had been struck by a giant beast. His sturdy ribs groaned under the strain, cracking from the impact.

“Boom!”

He was sent flying backward, crashing to the ground, his vision darkening as he opened his mouth to spew a mouthful of bright red blood, seriously injured and struggling to rise!

“Third Brother!”

Both Chen Dao and the man in gray were shocked.

At first glance, Su Hao’s physique was taller but not particularly robust, yet he had managed to strike the bulky bald man to the ground, bloodied and gasping.

Su Hao’s strength had not undergone a significant qualitative change since he had not yet cultivated the Vajra Fist, but achieving a small accomplishment in the Vajra Fist allowed him to concentrate all his strength into a single strike, which hit like an iron drill, unleashing tremendous killing power!

“Damn it! Kill him!”

Chen Dao snapped back to reality and yelled angrily. He hadn’t anticipated that this brat wasn’t just some sheep to be slaughtered but rather a fierce wolf. Yet, it was too late; he had to eliminate him!

“Kill!”

Chen Dao’s eyes gleamed with murderous intent. Having always been used to being reckless, he no longer cared about capturing Su Hao alive. He swung a short stick in his hand, dragging a shadow of motion, and aimed a heavy blow right down at Su Hao’s head.

This short stick was wrapped in iron; not only was it lightweight, but it also had a strong killing power. A forceful strike could shatter stone and split heads!

“Bang!”

But the moment Chen Dao raised his arm, Su Hao had already dodged in advance, causing Chen Dao’s swing to miss entirely, striking the edge of the bed and cracking its wooden frame.

Having cultivated his martial skills to a high level, Su Hao’s judgment in combat far surpassed that of ordinary people. Just like some fighting experts who can assess the next move of an opponent simply by observing their muscles and posture, Su Hao was in a similar situation.

He evaded the strike of Chen Dao’s short stick just in time. With his left fist tightly clenched, thumb tucked between the index and middle fingers, he forcefully struck toward the neck of the man in gray!

“Crack!”

The sound of a throat collapsing echoed, and in that instant, Chen Dao’s eyes turned bloodshot, his face twisted in agony. He felt a wave of suffocation wash over him, and his body fell limp to the ground.

Sun Feng felt a chill run down his spine as he watched this scene. The two men he had brought in had fallen so easily at Su Hao’s hands? In the darkness, Su Hao’s eyes glinted with a sinister light, making Sun Feng’s heart race with fear!

“A… A Hao, it’s a misunderstanding, it’s all a misunderstanding. Can we resolve this? I can give you money… a lot of money!” Sun Feng swallowed hard, forcing a smile onto his face, his voice trembling.
