Chapter 150: One More Kiss Might Change My Mind~
***
“So sister, my chosen path is already so difficult, shouldn’t you help your little sister?” Ye Han stared at Xia Ruoming without blinking, looking pitiful.
“…If only your acting was a bit more convincing, I might have softened my heart right away.” Xia Ruoming deliberately put on a stern face.
If this hadn’t been far from their first meeting, Xia Ruoming might have really been fooled by Ye Han’s pretense of being pitiful.
“Then sister~ come give me a kiss, maybe after the kiss, sister might change her mind.” Ye Han’s tone was like that of someone spoiled, soft and gentle without much strength. Xia Ruoming had never seen Ye Han like this before, and surprise was written all over her face.
Ye Han slowly moved closer to Xia Ruoming, lifted her head to look up at her, her face getting closer and closer to Xia Ruoming. Xia Ruoming could clearly feel Ye Han’s warm breath on her face.
That warmth stirred Xia Ruoming’s emotions, and seemed to color her face with a touch of passion.
Seeing that Xia Ruoming hadn’t retreated, Ye Han directly pressed her lips against Xia Ruoming’s again. Although Xia Ruoming instinctively tried to dodge, it seemed more like hesitation, without any intention of completely avoiding it. After noticing Xia Ruoming’s wavering, Ye Han pressed her lips even closer, even actively trying to part her “sister” teeth.
When Xia Ruoming inadvertently opened her eyes and met Ye Han’s bright gaze, she realized she had been deeply kissed to the point of breathlessness, only then breaking free from Ye Han’s love-filled kiss.
Xia Ruoming stared at Ye Han for a long time before fleeing the scene with a flushed face.
For some reason, Ye Han felt Xia Ruoming’s gaze held some deeper meaning.
As Xia Ruoming left, Ye Han suddenly felt warmth in her shirt pocket. She reached in to touch it and discovered it was a laminated small card she had forgotten about.
The pattern on the card looked as if it had been painted with platinum paint, pure and sacred, while also gleaming brilliantly.
She also recalled what had happened the day the party ended…
…
…
“Welcome.” A voice like a clear, bright river came through, awakening Ye Han from her daze.
“Where is this?” Ye Han looked around puzzled, then looked up at the ceiling, completely unsure where she was. She only remembered that after the party ended, she couldn’t drive because she had been drinking, so she decided to take a walk, and in her unclear state, she somehow wandered into this shop.
The entire shop’s decoration was like those magic houses described in fantasy novels set in the medieval period, with lavender incense burning, this fragrance she loved most also helped relax her mind a bit.
After observing for a while, Ye Han still couldn’t understand what kind of shop this was. There was a crystal ball placed on the table, could this be a fortune-telling shop? Would people really believe in such things these days?
“Dear customer, those without destiny cannot come here. Since you’ve entered, what is it you seek?” An Jinrou sat behind the long table wearing a blue veil, and Ye Han couldn’t see her expression hidden behind it.
“May I ask, what place is this?” Ye Han asked.
“This is my little fortune-telling shop, normally there aren’t many visitors.” An Jinrou smiled gently, “My name is An Jinrou, you can call me An, or if you prefer, calling me shop owner is fine too.”
“Meow~” A cat’s cry came from somewhere, and Ye Han looked toward the source of the sound. A black cat was sleeping in the corner, as inconspicuous as a small lump of coal. If it hadn’t made a sound, Ye Han might not have noticed it.
Perhaps disturbed from its sweet dreams by their conversation, the black cat meowed several times at them.
“Quiet down, Gaoyue, we have a customer in the shop now.” An Jinrou gently scolded the black cat.
“Meow!” The black cat called out to An Jinrou again several times, seeming somewhat dissatisfied.
“Alright, alright, you prefer me to call you Mei, don’t you?” An Jinrou beckoned to the black cat, and it jumped directly onto her lap.
She stroked the black cat’s fur, and the cat appeared to be thoroughly enjoying it.
“Okay, Mei, we have a customer in the shop now, and I have important matters to attend to. Would you like to go outside and sunbathe by yourself?” An Jinrou stroked the cat’s head while whispering in its ear.
“Meow~” The black cat, as if understanding An Jinrou’s words, leaped onto the table, then landed in front of Ye Han, disappearing through the front door.
“Can An communicate with cats?” Ye Han asked curiously. She had rarely seen someone who could connect with small animals like this. If she could do the same, she wouldn’t have to see those people with hidden agendas every day, communicating with cats would be such a lovely thing.
She was also used to being held in high regard, so she didn’t address An as shop owner, but used the simple form instead, though An herself had said this was fine.
“All things have spirit, nothing is impossible.” An Jinrou didn’t directly answer Ye Han’s question, instead saying a philosophical statement believed by animists, “The customer hasn’t answered my question yet, what brings you to my little shop?”
“An just said this is a fortune-telling shop?” The curiosity hadn’t faded from Ye Han’s eyes; everything here was novel to her.
“That’s right, apart from fortune-telling, there’s not much else I can help customers with.” An Jinrou nodded in response, “Would the customer like to have their fortune told? Hehe, just joking, I only do tarot card readings. If the customer wishes for divination, I’m afraid I won’t be able to help.”
Ye Han nodded and sat down in front of An Jinrou. She had never seen a so-called fortune-telling shop in her life, only occasionally seeing fortune sticks and divination at some temples.
Even if it’s a scam, trying something new wouldn’t hurt. After all, she wasn’t short on money, how much could fortune-telling cost? Really.
An Jinrou stared at Ye Han’s face but remained silent for a long time, showing none of the joy of a rarely-opened shop receiving a potential big customer, but rather an extremely serious demeanor.
“What’s wrong, shop owner? Weren’t we going to do a fortune-telling?”
“Perhaps your fortune-telling results won’t be entirely accurate, customer. Do you still want to proceed with the reading?” An Jinrou said with furrowed brows, and Ye Han didn’t know what was troubling her.
“With fortune-telling, it’s normal if it’s not accurate, shop owner. Just do whatever you like, I don’t really care about such things.” Ye Han said carelessly.
“No… it’s not like that, customer. You have very powerful heavenly luck.”
