Chapter 113: Encountering a Green Tea at the Hospital

Feeling bored at home alone, Song Shimu realized she hadn’t seen Sun Jiayi for a long time. So she brought bags of snacks to comfort her hardworking best friend who was working overtime.

The hospital was as busy as ever, with people coming and going, each face bearing exhaustion and anxiety.

While waiting for the elevator, Song Shimu unexpectedly spotted a familiar face—Bai Fan.

Yes, Bai Fan was also a chief physician at this hospital.

He wore a white doctor’s coat, his tall figure standing out. His jet-black short hair looked refreshing, and his cat-like eyes added a touch of liveliness and charm to his cool demeanor.

Seeing Song Shimu, he widened his eyes slightly in surprise, his voice clear.

Mrs. Lu, what brings you here? Are you feeling unwell?

No, I’m here to visit a friend.

Bai Fan nodded, and the two fell into an awkward silence. Bai Fan stared at the descending floor numbers on the display.

How are things with my little uncle?

Song Shimu looked up, curious about their situation.

The last time she saw them, they seemed to be living together. Had they reconciled and gotten back together?

The tips of Bai Fan’s ears turned shyly red. He avoided eye contact, glancing around nervously before lowering his head to stare at the toes of his canvas shoes.

His face showed a bashful expression, but he couldn’t suppress a smile, his tone obedient.

Brother Shen has forgiven me, and I’ll do my best to prove myself.

This demeanor was far from the clever person who had once deceived Old Sui and tricked Sui Xiying. Now he was just a shy boy in love.

That Shen Tangyu really had him wrapped around his finger. From the looks of it, they had wiped the slate clean.

After all the breakups and reconciliations over the years, and Shen Tangyu cutting ties with his family for Bai Fan, this outcome was quite good.

The elevator arrived, and Song Shimu and Bai Fan stepped inside, joining many other patients.

When A Jin returns, let’s have a meal together sometime.

Mm, okay.

Song Shimu got off on the third floor. Influenced by Shen Tangyu and Bai Fan’s relationship, her mood lightened a bit.

The door to Sun Jiayi’s office was tightly shut—probably because she was examining someone’s backside.

Song Shimu had to wait outside. After more than ten minutes, a man in his thirties came out, clutching his buttocks and limping.

He kindly told Song Shimu, Miss, this is the andrology department.

She’s here to see me, not for anal exams!

Sun Jiayi disdainfully removed her rubber gloves, repeatedly washing her hands with disinfectant. When she saw Song Shimu, her eyes sparkled with laughter.

What brings you here, Mrs. Lu?

A Jin is on a business trip, so I came to see you.Song Shimu brought in the delicious snacks she had brought and skillfully placed them in Sun Jiayi’s cabinet and drawers.

I knew it! Why would you suddenly remember your ‘Butt Specialist’ sister at First Hospital!

After washing her hands four or five times, Sun Jiayi shook her hands dry and walked over, pulling out a bag of chips from the drawer to munch on.

Didn’t Moyu participate in this military district competition?

No, he had a mission beforehand. He’s been gone for half a month, Sun Jiayi said nonchalantly.

When Zhai Moyu heard that Lu Zhijin was participating in the military district competition, he deeply regretted it. He said if he and Lu Zhijin fought together, they wouldn’t need anyone else—the two of them could win the championship.

Things going steady? When are you getting married?

Song Shimu hadn’t expected to encounter so much gossip during her hospital visit today. Her eyes sparkling with curiosity, she eagerly pressed for details.

Just because you’re marching into love’s grave yourself doesn’t mean you should drag me along.

That’s no grave—it’s our love nest! Song Shimu retorted indignantly.

As the two were bickering, the office door swung open after a knock.

Generally, no one disturbed Sun Jiayi’s office during lunch breaks.

Both looked up to see a young, pretty girl with long black hair and an innocent face, though her upturned fox eyes held a hint of amorous charm.

Wearing a faint smile, the girl was dressed in a gold-pink floral chiffon blouse paired with a white skirt that revealed her slender legs.

Hello, are you Dr. Sun?

Sun Jiayi set down her potato chips, her expression turning serious as she nodded.

Yes, may I help you?

The girl walked in casually, her demeanor calm as she shook her head and glanced around.

Nothing urgent. I just had some business at the hospital and heard Moyu’s girlfriend works here, so I thought I’d stop by.

Though she spoke lightly, both Song Shimu and Sun Jiayi felt an immediate discomfort, their feminine intuition kicking in.

Moyu’s never mentioned you. May I ask who you are?

Song Shimu eyed the woman with detachment, stepping up for her best friend. This was clearly a Green Tea!

The woman chuckled softly, crossing her legs as she stood in the middle of the office, casually smoothing her hair.

He probably wouldn’t bring me up. After all, we shared such deep feelings once, and I ended up hurting him.

Just as expected! That expression, those gestures, those words—she was undeniably a Green Tea!

Are you here to apologize then? Moyu has moved on from the past. There’s no need to revisit old memories.

Sun Jiayi watched her expressionlessly, her gaze steady.

Is that so? But Miss Sun, it seems you didn’t even know I existed, the woman said leisurely, a hint of pride in her eyes.

Why should I know you exist? Someone from the past ought to be forgotten, don’t you think?

Heh, but I’ve come from the past now, hoping to make up for the hurt Moyu suffered. The woman curved her lips, looking provocatively at Sun Jiayi.

If you want to be a homewrecker, just say it outright! ‘Coming from the past’—spare me the nonsense about making amends!

Song Shimu looked at the woman with disdain. Standing on moral high ground to criticize others’ feelings was indeed satisfying.

The girl’s face darkened. She let out a breath and sneered at the two.

Hmph, just you wait!

With that, she shot them a glare, turned on her heel, and strutted out.

Psycho!

Song Shimu cursed at her retreating back before turning to comfort her best friend.

Jiayi, don’t listen to her nonsense. Moyu probably doesn’t even remember who she is!

Sun Jiayi’s expression was vacant, her eyes dull, her tone calm yet tinged with uncertainty.

But she’s right—I really didn’t know she existed before. And— Sun Jiayi turned to look at Song Shimu, her beautiful fox eyes tinged with sorrow, Don’t you think she and I look somewhat alike?

Somewhat? The moment that woman walked in, Sun Jiayi almost thought she had a long-lost sister.

Song Shimu felt a bit flustered too, but she had to soothe Sun Jiayi’s emotions.

Not at all! You’re much prettier than her! Don’t overthink it, first ask Moyu what’s going on – he’s not that kind of person.

He’s on a mission outside, somewhat dangerous. I’ll ask when he returns.

Sun Jiayi lowered her gaze, her calm appearance belying the turmoil within. Her heart felt like a lone leaf floating on the ocean’s surface – unanchored and devoid of security.

As she distractedly tidied the desk, Song Shimu watched her with aching sympathy, when suddenly she heard Sun Jiayi murmur softly.

Mu Mu, don’t you think I’m somewhat ridiculous?

Sun Jiayi lifted her head, her eyes filled with broken light, a self-mocking smile playing on her lips.

Two relationships, both failed so completely. I’m like a fool, constantly being deceived by others.
