The Transforming Trees charged fearlessly toward the lizard creatures, swarming in groups.

When the ones in front died, those behind immediately filled in.

Watching the way the Transforming Trees fought, Mo Ling finally understood why their numbers kept dwindling.

They all ran to the battlefield to die-no wonder fewer and fewer were making it to the Great Hollow Tree.

Seeing the Transforming Trees being slaughtered one-sidedly, Mo Ling couldn’t hold back any longer.

He aimed the teleportation frame at the lizards and began stripping away their flesh.

When the chieftain saw the cubic voids appearing on the lizard’s body, he shouted excitedly, “It’s the Holy Relic!”

The fighting spirit of the Transforming Trees surged.

“Holy Relic!”

“Holy Relic!”

They shouted as they continued attacking the now-helpless lizards.

Mo Ling, looking at the stripped lizard meat, fell into thought.

“These aren’t creatures made of Theseus Cells.”

After killing so many Theseus Cell creatures in the containment zone, Mo Ling had gained experience.

When those creatures died, the Theseus Cells would gradually lose their disguise, and the corpses would become transparent, then quickly collapse.

But he didn’t see that familiar phenomenon with these lizards.

Even in the Great Hollow Tree, the area most affected by the anomaly, there were creatures not made of Theseus Cells?

What kind of place was this?

Before long, the Transforming Trees had cleared the battlefield and gathered in front of the cube, bowing down.

“Thank you, Holy Relic, for bringing us victory!”

“The Qifang Tribe has suffered so much at the hands of other creatures-thank you, Holy Relic, for saving us.”

……

As they spoke of their tribe’s suffering, the Transforming Trees sincerely expressed their faith to the cube.

Mo Ling was surrounded, staring blankly at the crowd of Transforming Trees filling his vision.

The chieftain’s face was full of anger. He stood up and spoke to his people with deep pain,

“We have waited for this day for so long. We cannot remain weak any longer.”

“I have a dream, a dream that one day, the newborns can walk to the Great Hollow Tree without fear, without danger.”

The chieftain’s words instantly resonated with the Transforming Trees, who raised their arms and poured out their emotions.

“Drive them out!”

The high spirits of the Transforming Trees left Mo Ling awestruck.

He had thought they were just carefree creatures, always thinking about becoming trees, so laid-back.

But he hadn’t expected that on the other side of the Great Hollow Tree, there was a tribe of Transforming Trees with a story like this.

The Transforming Trees lifted the cube and headed in another direction.

Their attitude toward the cube grew ever more reverent, and more and more Transforming Trees joined in carrying it.

Not only that, but a large circle of guards surrounded the cube.

Mo Ling took the opportunity to observe his surroundings.

As they passed through more areas, Mo Ling realized where his sense of familiarity came from.

This place was like a copy of the containment zone, with only a few subtle differences.

Mo Ling also instantly understood what the gravity change he’d felt during his fall meant.

He seemed to have come to an opposite world through the Great Hollow Tree.

Here, Transforming Trees are born from trees, and after passing through the Great Hollow Tree, their purpose becomes to transform into trees.

A sense of strangeness filled Mo Ling’s heart.

The cube was carried by the Transforming Trees to the territories of various creatures.

These were all natural enemies of the Transforming Trees, often blocking the way to the Great Hollow Tree and attacking newborns.

The Transforming Trees hated these long-time oppressors, praying devoutly to the cube.

“May the Holy Relic save us.”

It seemed they had made the cube into their last hope.

Mo Ling happened to want to explore this area.

As each enemy creature fell, the Transforming Trees erupted in wild cheers.

But Mo Ling looked calmly at the fallen creatures, full of doubt.

“Again, just ordinary creatures. Where did the Theseus Cells go?”

The Theseus Cells seemed to have disappeared.

Even the insects and plants were made of normal cells-this place looked completely normal.

Mo Ling had thought these enemies attacking the Transforming Trees were rampaging mutants affected by the anomaly.

But along the way, it seemed they were just normal creatures, attacking only because the Transforming Trees were so weak.

As night fell, the Transforming Trees’ campaign ended, and the cube was brought back to the tribe.

Every Transforming Tree wore an expression of irrepressible joy.

The chieftain stood on the stage, delivering a victory speech.

“Praise the Holy Relic!”

“All our enemies have been eliminated-only one remains!”

“The Cave Demon!”

The previously jubilant Transforming Trees fell silent at the name, exchanging anxious glances.

They whispered among themselves, clearly afraid.

Seeing his people so frightened, the chieftain quickly encouraged them, “The enemies we thought were so strong couldn’t last long before the Holy Relic.”

“The giant berserk lizards were hollowed out in seconds by the Holy Relic!”

“The elusive shadow beasts had nowhere to hide before the Holy Relic!”

“The swarming needle bees were wiped out by the Holy Relic!”

“The Cave Demon is nothing-we just have to believe in the Holy Relic!”

With each word of encouragement, the Transforming Trees regained their fighting spirit.

“All warriors, rest and recover. Tomorrow, we fight the Cave Demon to the death!”

“Tomorrow will be its last day!”

“Then, the road to the Great Hollow Tree will be clear!”

The chieftain finished with a promise.

Mo Ling listened to the chieftain’s rousing speech, full of admiration.

He really knew how to inspire people.

That day, Mo Ling helped the Transforming Trees eliminate many enemies, and they trusted him even more.

At night, they placed the cube on a grand altar, with guards protecting it tightly.

Around the altar were many wooden totem poles, all carved with the Qifang Tribe’s totem-a perfect square.

Mo Ling studied the totems, feeling more and more strange inside.

Why a square? How could it be such a coincidence?

From the moment he fell into the Great Hollow Tree to the “descent of the Holy Relic,” everything was so coincidental.

As he pondered, the chieftain walked up onto the altar.

He sent the guards away, wanting to pray to the Holy Relic alone.

Once the guards left, the always resolute chieftain suddenly slumped.

His round body deflated, turning listless.

He dragged his exhausted body to the cube, sat down beside it.

No longer rousing, he looked up at the sky with a blank face.

After a long silence, the chieftain muttered,

“Holy Relic, can you forgive me?”
