The seal person attacked by the white eel visibly began to shrink.

His originally somewhat fierce seal head quickly became cute.

The clothes on his body gradually became ill-fitting, wrapping around him.

After the changes stopped, the seal person crawled out of his clothes. At this point, he looked like a six or seven-year-old child, with the seal head on top also very childish.

Not only that, he stared blankly at his surroundings, completely unaware of what had happened, looking foolish.

However, the white eel was still not finished. After a rapid turn, it rushed toward the seal person again.

A nearby companion quickly reacted, rolling over to carry away the still-dazed seal person, causing the white eel to miss.

But the white eel was simply too fast. After turning a corner, it chased after the two again, about to hit the companion’s back.

However, because it had attacked the seal person, this white eel had already transformed into transparent form, and because it caused too much commotion, it became a target for everyone.

Just as it was about to catch up to the two, it was hit by flying wooden spheres and trapped inside.

The companion carrying the seal person ran far away without looking back.

Only after confirming that the white eel behind him had been caught did he set down the young seal person in his arms with lingering fear.

Seeing this scene, Mo Ling felt a chill of fear.

Being attacked once turned him into a child, what would happen with another attack?

No wonder these pseudo-mermen had shown such fearful expressions before.

The companion looked worriedly at the little seal person and took out several Immortal Wood spheres from his pocket.

“Play with these, don’t run around.”

The little seal person blankly took the spheres, squatted on the ground, and began playing with them, very obediently.

After sighing, the companion returned to the hunting team.

As the number of white eels increased, the speed of throwing bait began to fall behind. Although most would gather at the bait boxes, more and more slipped through the net and began rushing toward the crowd.

The more cautious they were, the slower the hunting speed became.

But they were unwilling to be treated as “expendables.”

This was destined to be a hunt requiring sacrifices.

These creatures were simply too dangerous.

The pseudo-mermen had long known this.

Mo Ling instantly understood that the bait wasn’t just the rotted food thrown into the sky, even the “hunters” themselves were bait.

Only after the white eels attacked and transformed could they be caught.

No wonder they had cared so much about the Great Chieftain’s opinion before, because having anyone do this job meant accepting this kind of “sacrifice.”

A vicious cycle…

To free up hands to deal with these fish that slipped through the net would slow down the baiting speed even more.

“Be more careful, ensure your own safety first!” After such an ordeal, the pseudo-mermen became even more cautious.

“Need to help out.”

After understanding all this, Mo Ling decided to contribute.

Although he couldn’t do other things, protecting these pseudo-mermen was still easy.

“First, let’s see if teleportation works on these creatures.”

Mo Ling controlled the Cube to fly above the crowd, aimed at those white eels trying to attack the group, and activated teleportation.

Most of these white eels hadn’t managed to grab bait and were covered in fossils. Like sharks that had seen blood, they were extremely fierce.

One white eel was just about to rush into a pseudo-merman when Mo Ling collected it.

The pseudo-merman instinctively raised his hand to block but found that the white eel that had just charged at him had disappeared.

He looked around in surprise until he saw the Cube in the sky…

Mo Ling crouched by the bed, using a tree branch to poke at the gel-like corpse spread on the ground.

The white eel had instantly transformed as soon as it entered the Cube, becoming transparent and dying on the metal floor.

“Feels like jelly when touched, soft and squishy.”

The tree branch in Mo Ling’s hand created a depression in the gel-like skin. After lifting the branch, the depression quickly recovered.

“I don’t know if the dead corpse still has that strange ability.”

Mo Ling didn’t dare touch it with his hands, only tried with the branch, but the branch showed no changes either.

“I can’t figure it out.”

The battle outside was raging, so Mo Ling had no mind to study this creature’s characteristics. He turned and threw the corpse out, continuing to look at the next one…

Thus, all the pseudo-mermen present discovered a strange phenomenon:

When white eels rushed toward them, they would disappear, and shortly after, a transparent corpse would fall down.

Some pseudo-mermen tried throwing Immortal Wood spheres at these corpses and could actually absorb the corpses into them, so some people quickly began “corpse collecting.”

Mo Ling extended his vision to cover each pseudo-merman’s side and began concentrating on protecting them.

After watching for a while, Li Luo also snapped out of it and began helping with the baiting.

While throwing, she suddenly thought of something and looked at her wrist.

A purple bracelet was quietly lying there.

She grabbed the cord end and pulled hard. Silk threads instantly shot out, weaving into layers of overlapping purple gauze that flew into the air.

However, as soon as the purple gauze appeared, it rushed toward the Cube in the sky.

While flying, it also expanded, tightening the silk threads, aggressively trying to wrap around the Cube.

Here we go again?

Mo Ling in the Cube was startled once more.

“Why is it attacking me again?” Mo Ling was somewhat speechless.

Fortunately, Li Luo quickly called it back, “Little Purple, come back!”

Hearing Li Luo’s call, the purple gauze quickly made an emergency stop, turned a corner, and flew back…

Under Li Luo’s repeated commands, the purple gauze finally understood its duty and began using nets to roll bait up into the sky and scatter it down.

This was much more efficient than the previous baiting method.

Soon, all the white eels’ attention was attracted to the bait falling from the sky, and the pseudo-mermen’s pressure was greatly reduced.

They could finally throw out Immortal Wood spheres with peace of mind.

After the speed caught up, the ground was soon covered with spheres trapping white eels. Mo Ling and Li Luo’s participation had obviously helped them greatly.

However, at this time, the number of white eels was also becoming increasingly large. They continuously surged up from the platform’s edge, crowding together like an inverted white waterfall.

But now the capture speed had caught up, and they were managing easily. Mo Ling even began studying the white eels’ transparent corpses in the Cube again.

He also secretly collected several Immortal Wood spheres that had missed the white eels and fallen to the ground.

These spheres could still function in the Cube, absorbing the white eels’ transparent corpses into them.

Holding the spheres, Mo Ling also felt that strange suction force, like holding a magnet.

But no matter how long Mo Ling worked at it, he couldn’t understand the spheres’ principle.

These wooden spheres were simply too simple and unremarkable. Aside from their material, there might be nothing special about them.

Just as Mo Ling was puzzled, the pseudo-mermen outside had already begun wrapping up.

“About enough! The cages are almost used up.”

“What about the others?”

“Used up!”

“Last bit, almost used up…”

Everyone looked toward Jeff. He also quickly scanned the ground, and after confirming these spheres met the requirements, he raised his hand to signal everyone to stop.

“That’s enough!”
