I Became Famous After I Became a Parrot in the Movie Star's House - Chapter 120
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
The air is thick with a mix of flirtatious tension and the scent of alcohol, creating a dazed, tipsy atmosphere.
For a brief moment, Li Pu really does want to kiss him.
Looking at the young man’s full, smooth lips, Li Pu’s gaze darkens, but he raises his hand to press down on the other’s shoulder.
“You’re drunk.”
Li Pu’s voice grows hoarse as he swallows, the movement of his Adam’s apple betraying his struggle to suppress the impulse.
The young man’s black, lustrous eyes are unfocused, clouded with the dullness and confusion that comes with drunkenness.
But to Li Pu’s surprise, in the next second, the young man suddenly crashes into his arms, nuzzling against him at random and humming softly. “Hurry, kiss me~”
Bai Gaoxing’s fluffy hair becomes a mess from rubbing against him. His warm head slides from Li Pu’s shoulder to his chest and then slides lower, creating an odd tickling sensation.
Li Pu quickly reaches out to steady him, helping the nearly stumbling young man to stand upright, leaning against him for support.
But Bai Gaoxing remains restless.
As they walk, he bumps into Li Pu, craning his neck to seek a kiss, as if trying to make up for the two failed attempts yesterday and prove that he’s perfectly fine.
Li Pu endures it, tightly wrapping his arm around the young man’s waist and holding him firmly as they make their way back to the bar.
Despite this, the buttons on Li Pu’s coat are rubbed open, revealing the black inner garment underneath.
“I’m thirsty… I want a kiss…” The weak, yearning voice never ceases throughout the walk.
Under the teasing gazes of the bartender and the surrounding crowd, Li Pu speaks, “Please give me a glass of juice.”
The bartender quickly places a drink in front of him. “Your orange juice.”
Li Pu adjusts his position, setting Bai Gaoxing in a way that makes it easier to feed him, and brings the orange juice to Bai Gaoxing’s lips. “Drink a little.”
Bai Gaoxing leans on Li Pu, licking his lips, his half-closed eyes hazy. Through the flickering light, he tries to focus his eyes to see the person in front of him, but soon, the dizziness in his head muddles his thoughts.
“I want a kiss!”
Bai Gaoxing suddenly lunges forward. Li Pu’s arm wavers, and most of the orange juice spills out.
It spills onto Li Pu’s clothes.
Li Pu’s face darkens as he sets the cup back on the bar and picks up the boy, who has collapsed onto his lap. But the young man seems unaware of what he has done, gazing up at him with bright, expectant eyes.
Li Pu’s heart inexplicably stirs.
The next second, the young man nuzzles against him again, this time closer, the faint scent of alcohol in his shallow breaths, as he mumbles in a soft, syrupy voice, “Can I kiss you?”
Li Pu’s breath catches. Without thinking, he raises his hand to pinch Bai Gaoxing’s face to stop him, feeling the soft skin pressed between his fingers.
Squinting, he asks, “…Who am I?”
It’s too dangerous.
Li Pu suddenly realizes just how dangerous it is for the young man to be drunk in a bar.
The thought that the boy might say these things to anyone else stirs emotions in him that he has been trying to suppress, followed by a feeling of lingering fear.
He watches as Bai Gaoxing struggles for a moment, his brows furrowing in indecision, before he finally murmurs a name, one that makes him feel both relieved and wistful:
“Adonis…”
It’s the answer he had expected. Li Pu’s tense expression eases slightly, though a hint of disappointment lingers. He had been so anxious when he asked that question, his heartbeat nearly stopping.
At least Dabai still recognizes him.
Suppressing the disappointment, Li Pu prepares to push the boy back into his seat. But before he can, the next moment, Bai Gaoxing clings to him tightly, softly calling his name, “Li Pu… Li Pu…”
Li Pu freezes in place.
Bai Gaoxing rests his head against Li Pu’s chest, continuing to nuzzle, his mind filled with two figures—one from the play, Adonis, and one from the real world, Li Pu. The two shadows overlap, yet he can still tell them apart.
But deep down, Bai Gaoxing wants to answer “Li Pu.”
Bai Gaoxing pouts in grievance. The alcohol clouds his thoughts and loosens his tongue, but even in his dazed state, he manages to seize the moment to correct himself—to express his true feelings.
“Can we kiss now?”
“Open your mouth.”
“Oh.”
The cool, sweet orange juice flows into Bai Gaoxing’s mouth, and it takes him a while to realize that what is pressed against his lips is the rim of the cup. He thinks, There’s no way Li Pu’s lips could be this hard!
Bai Gaoxing, still in a daze, finishes half a cup of orange juice in a disjointed manner and quickly collapses back into Li Pu’s arms.
When Darren and Nitia return, they see the man standing next to the seat, with the young man leaning against him.
“You guys… having an orange juice party?” Darren sniffs the strong orange scent, and with the dampness in front of Li Pu, he can guess what has happened.
“It was just an accident.” Li Pu adjusts his position, trying to make the young man more comfortable.
“Okay.” Nitia nods, then curiously asks, “Bai was looking for you earlier. What did he want?”
“…Nothing.” Li Pu pauses slightly, then pushes the fidgeting young man back into his arms.
“Li Pu, kiss kiss!” Bai Gaoxing raises both hands.
“Pfft.” Nitia suppresses a laugh as she sees Li Pu quickly push the young man’s hands back down.
“Wow, he’s really drunk.” Darren is amazed.
In the end, it is Li Pu who carries the unconscious Bai Gaoxing to Darren’s car.
…
The next morning…
It is over.
His life is officially ruined.
Bai Gaoxing lies on the bed with his hands crossed over his chest, staring blankly at the ceiling. He feels an overwhelming urge to disappear quietly from the world.
It is 10 a.m., and the memories of the previous night have started to trickle back, piece by mortifying piece.
Who is that ridiculous person who keeps pestering Li Pu for a kiss at the bar? And then, to make matters worse, begs for a hug once they get back to the hotel?!
Bai Gaoxing stares blankly at the ceiling, memories flashing in his mind, his expression momentarily twisted with embarrassment.
If only I hadn’t had that second drink!!!
But then, thankfully, a small wave of relief washes over him. He hasn’t outright confessed.
Bai Gaoxing clings to that small comfort, silently grateful for his self-restraint—even in his drunken state. His expression softens as he raises a hand to cover his face.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps breaks the silence. “Does your head hurt?”
A familiar, low voice makes Bai Gaoxing part his fingers slightly. Li Pu’s figure comes into view, standing at the side of the bed.
“No…” Bai Gaoxing’s voice is hoarse, and he can’t help coughing the moment he speaks.
Li Pu reaches out to help him sit up, and only then does Bai Gaoxing realize that the other man is holding a cup of water.
It is still warm.
Bai Gaoxing grasps the cup, the slightly warm temperature spreading through his palm. He hurriedly takes a sip but accidentally lifts it too quickly and chokes, “Pfft—! Cough cough cough…”
Li Pu’s hand pats his back twice, and the soft, fragrant warmth of his breath drifts closer, making Bai Gaoxing cough even harder.
It takes him a while to stop, and he forces his teary eyes to look at Li Pu. “I’m fine.”
Something deep inside Li Pu’s heart softens.
He bites his lip, stands up, and takes the food to the dining table. “Get up, let’s eat.”
“…Okay.”
Bai Gaoxing stares blankly at Li Pu’s back, unconsciously pressing his hand to his chest, his gaze flickering.
He thinks, The answer I got yesterday isn’t wrong.
…
Once he realizes his feelings, it becomes hard to view their usual interactions with the same mindset.
His eyes unconsciously follow Li Pu, quickly looking away before Li Pu turns around, wanting to be discovered, yet also wanting to keep it a secret forever.
Even an accidental touch makes him flustered, and he can no longer feel at ease.
Bai Gaoxing fiddles with his phone, but in reality, he zones out.
His heart races again, and heat spreads across his face.
Since it is love… the fluttering feeling when he is with Li Pu now makes sense, but this feeling is still too unfamiliar. He probably needs some time to fully understand it.
The realization deepens the next day on set.
Today, Frank arranges for an earlier filming session. The soft greenish light of dawn fills the space, and unlike before, the small room is quieter, with only two or three crew members around.
“How’s it going, Bai?” Frank’s tone is confident, as he has already heard some things from Darren and Nitia.
It seems like the young couple is getting along very well. He looks at the two people in the room with satisfaction. It is different from last time. Now, just by standing there and looking at each other, their eyes already convey so much feeling.
Especially Bai.
Frank’s gaze lingers on Bai Gaoxing with approval. Adonis’s feelings are meant to be deep and restrained—conveyed with subtlety—but Noah is entirely different. Noah is pure and unfiltered. His love burns as brightly and naturally as the sun, radiating warmth and vitality. It is so overwhelming, so constant, that people don’t realize its full depth until it is gone. When the sun disappears, leaving behind only cold and emptiness, the absence is devastating.
Noah is a boy who understands his feelings and is transparent about them.
Bai, on the other hand, has been confused just two days ago. Facing his beloved Adonis, he doesn’t know anything and can’t grasp it.
But now, the fog clouding Bai’s eyes seems to have lifted, and the sunlight pours in, brilliant and clear.
“No problem.” Bai Gaoxing answers firmly.
“Then let’s begin,” Frank says without hesitation.
The camera captures the scene in the room. The sunlight of dawn rises, illuminating the young man sitting on the bed so brightly that his white hair seems to glow.
“He really looks like an angel.” Frank adjusts the camera, giving a voice of admiration.
The prelude progresses slowly and warmly, and everything goes as smoothly as the last time. But when Adonis leans forward, the atmosphere in the room once again becomes tense.
However, this time, the only people feeling tense are the filming crew.
Bai Gaoxing watches the handsome man approach him, his lashes trembling, his eyes filled with the image of the man.
He smiles and lifts his head to meet the man’s kiss, gently pressing his warm lips to the man’s.
The moment their lips touch, they both pause for a second.
Bai Gaoxing’s eyes widen, feeling like an electric current surges up his spine to the top of his head, and the corners of his eyes immediately turn a deep red.
Even so, he doesn’t forget to continue his movement, wrapping his arms around the man’s neck.
What should have been a brief kiss spirals out of control when Noah, unable to resist, pulls Adonis closer.
Adonis is deeply afraid of losing Noah, so much so that in this brief moment of happiness, he is willing to forget everything and use his body to feel Noah’s presence, to warm him with his own.
Noah’s body is cold. His temperature is lower than most people’s, which makes Adonis feel fearful. He places Noah’s bed by the window, hoping more sunlight will warm him.
The man’s kiss is fierce yet sweet, a blend of passion and sorrow. Bai’s trembling eyes soften, his expression melting into something bittersweet as if the weight of Adonis’s love presses against his very soul. Beneath the surface of Noah’s bright gaze lies hidden grief, a quiet sadness masked by his bravery.
But unlike Noah—who chooses to conceal his fear of separation and embrace love even in the face of death—Bai makes a different choice.
When their lips part, Noah cups Adonis’s face, his eyes sparkling with love.
“Okay,” Noah says softly, his voice filled with affection. “You should rest now.”
The boy leans in to kiss him again, and the man kisses his palm before laughing playfully. After a moment, the boy sees the man off as he leaves the room.
Once he is gone, the smile on the boy’s face gradually fades, leaving only the serene calmness that follows a snowstorm.
He hugs his knees and sits at the edge of the bed, gently closing his eyes with a sigh.
Sunlight spreads across him, but it feels as if he is sitting in an unseen shadow.
The scene ends, and the room falls completely silent.
Frank rubs his eyes.
“That’s a bit… beyond what I expected,” he says.
For this kissing scene, he wanted to depict a deeper layer of sadness beneath the happiness, and at first, he worried that the boy wouldn’t be able to convey that sadness. But now, the sadness is almost too much.
So much that it is suffocating.
Frank doesn’t have time to adjust his emotions. He walks to the bed, where the boy hasn’t moved for a while, wondering if he has gotten lost in his emotions.
“Hey, Bai, are you okay?”
“No…” Bai Gaoxing’s voice is hoarse, offering a light smile. “I think it was a bit too intense.”
The boy’s eyes, the corners of his lips, and even his cheeks and neck are visibly flushed, with a faint pink hue spreading to the collar of his shirt.
Oh—maybe Li had kissed too hard. Frank catches on quickly and, without hesitation, says bluntly, “The last scene was great, but I want to shoot a few more takes for comparison. You’ll have to do it again.”
“…?”
After reshooting three or four more takes, Bai Gaoxing is completely spent. He collapses into the quilt and refuses to move.
He buries himself deeply in the blankets, curled on his side, trying to hide his intense reactions under the pretense of feeling “cold.”
“Alright, alright, you’ve both worked hard.” Frank announces the break, clearly pleased with the progress. He praises them generously and leaves the room with the equipment.
Bai Gaoxing, still trembling slightly on the bed, feels a shadow fall over him.
It is Li Pu, standing by his bedside.
“…” He turns his head, trying to calm his racing heart.
Now, only the two of them are left in the room.
After a long pause, Bai Gaoxing sits up nervously, hurriedly pulling on his clothes and shoes. His movements are stiff, his balance faltering slightly as he moves.
Li Pu reaches out to steady him, but Bai Gaoxing quickly dodges, startling both of them.
“No!” Bai exclaims, flustered. Then, realizing how abrupt he sounds, he softens his expression, curving his lips into a smile to dispel any misunderstanding. “I-I just need to go to the bathroom! Go ahead!”
Before Li Pu can say anything, the boy darts out of the room like a gust of wind.
It feels less like a simple exit and more like an escape.
Probably because it is an escape.
Li Pu stands there, watching the direction Dabai has fled. His emotions are a tangled mess—confusion, a faint trace of joy, and something he can’t quite put into words.
Maybe… this scene had felt a little too real.
Unconsciously, Li Pu raises his hand to his lips. The soft, lingering sensation of Bai’s touch is still vivid.
In the moment they shared earlier, he saw something in the boy’s eyes—a flicker of something warm, something tender.
It is as if… Dabai likes him, too.
