Zhan Chengyin was captivated by the sight of the glutinous rice and its flour—over five large bags in total.

‘This glutinous rice can be cooked down to a paste and used to reinforce the city walls!’ he thought.

He turned to Chen Wu and asked, “Do we still have any lime powder left in the storehouse?”

“Yes, General, it’s stored in the warehouse beneath the walls!”

“Transport all the glutinous rice and flour over there. Organize the men to start repairing the city walls!”

“Understood, General!”

Chen Wu immediately called in soldiers to move the rice and horse feed.

As Zhan Chengyin passed through the city today, he noticed that the citizens, despite their gaunt faces, greeted him with smiles. Even those too weak from hunger to walk were helping each other, lining up in the back alley to receive porridge.

There was no longer an air of despair—people’s faces were full of life again, their eyes brimming with hope.

The once dried-up pond in the general’s residence had been replenished with clear spring water today.

Where there’s water, there’s hope!

Everyone was fed, and with water to drink, even though the city was under siege, no one felt the weight of despair. They all had something to look forward to!

The soldiers’ morale had improved significantly, and with good reason: a notice had been posted in the camp today announcing that they would be served two meals a day, each consisting of one meat dish, one vegetable dish, and a bowl of soup.

The staple food? Steamed rice.

Not the thin porridge they were used to—actual steamed rice!!!

Most of these soldiers came from poor families and had never in their lives eaten steamed rice. Even a bowl of thin rice porridge was a luxury they only enjoyed yesterday!

Many of them lingered near the kitchen, their eyes gleaming as they watched baskets of cabbage and sacks of rice being moved in.

Now, even offerings like glutinous rice and horse feed were being delivered by the gods.

The horse feed was of such high quality, it seemed better than what the soldiers themselves were eating.

Zhan Chengyin felt a surge of satisfaction.

He ordered the stable hands to fatten the horses, with the aim of luring the enemy’s scrawny mares into the city. With a steady supply of mares, their army would soon have an endless supply of warhorses!

Half an hour later, more than ten bags of lime powder were delivered to the room. Unable to contain his excitement, Zhan Chengyin tore open the packaging to find the powder inside clean and refined, much finer and whiter than what the Great Qi Kingdom typically used.

With this lime powder, repairs on the city walls could begin immediately.

Just then, he received a note from Ye Mumu: 「I’ve bought a pedal tricycle, coal cinder, and charcoal. I’ll send you a video on how to use them via the tablet!」

Zhan Chengyin placed the tablet inside a flower vase.

Soon, Ye Mumu sent it back.

The tablet now featured videos on using a pedal tricycle and burning coal.

While Zhan Chengyin was studying the tricycle video…

Whoosh!

Several pedal tricycles suddenly appeared in the room with a loud crash.

Because the room was too small, the tricycles ended up twisted and folded in various ways.

He was amazed as he examined the fine craftsmanship and intricate design of the tricycles.

“Is this what the gods use to transport goods?”

The frame was made of fine steel, the cargo compartment of refined iron, and the body painted with a sleek blue lacquer.

It was truly a masterpiece of ingenuity!

When the other deputy generals heard that the gods had sent horse feed and glutinous rice, they rushed to the general’s residence in excitement. However, upon entering the room, they were stunned by the sight of the strange, folded vehicles.

None of them had ever seen anything like these tricycles before.

The entire frame was made of iron, with a spacious carriage that could hold many goods, better than a flatbed cart!

Zhan Chengyin pulled one of the tricycles out into the courtyard.

He took out the tablet computer and played the video showing how to operate the tricycle.

The soldiers, seeing this novel object that could even emit light, all gathered around, wide-eyed with amazement as they watched the little person in the video demonstrate how to mount, pedal, turn, and brake… teaching everything thoroughly.

Though intrigued by the tricycle, the soldiers seemed even more fascinated by the tablet.

Chen Kui couldn’t resist touching the metal surface of the tablet.
