Dear Readers,

Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.

In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Still, we’ve finally established the structure of the shoe sales and manufacturing team, or rather, the company.

I write the organizational chart on a large board so those who can read can understand:

Company Name: Shoe Sales and Manufacturing Inc. (Provisional)
Headquarters: Gorgoro Workshop, Leather Street
Shareholders: Kenji, Jilboa, Gorgoro, Gooljin
Issued Shares: 1000 pairs of shoes
CEO: Kenji
Directors: Kenji, Jilboa (Sword Fangs Legion), Gooljin (Inter-city Merchant)
Department Heads: Kenji (Brand, Manufacturing Management), Gorgoro (Technical Development), Anne (Public Relations), Sara (Sales and External Affairs)
Staff: Manufacturing Staff (Scheduled to hire 3rd district shoe craftsmen), Sales Staff (Inter-city merchants), Guards (Sword Fangs Legion)

The role of “guards” feels a bit out of place. As I write this, I wonder if people in this world can understand organizational charts. I show the chart to Sara, who is absorbed in eating white bread from the inn.

I doubt she can understand it without prior knowledge, so I explain it as something like a party for making shoes. Sara seems to understand the role distribution of the department heads.

“What are shareholders and directors?” she asks.

“Well, they’re like supporters or sponsors. When you become a top-tier clan, you have supporters like nobles or big merchants, right?”

Since Sara has never had supporters as an adventurer, I try to explain it in terms of farming.

“Sara, let’s compare it to farming. We’re going to plant crops that sell for a high price but are difficult to grow. To do that, we gather people with various skills. That’s the department heads and staff. Do you understand that?”

Sara nods in understanding, so I continue.

The visible parts are similar to the role distribution in an adventurer party, but the invisible parts are the issue.

“Well, we don’t have farmland. So we need to borrow it from someone who does. Also, if our crops are known to be delicious and sell well, bandits and wild animals might attack. We need people to protect us from those threats. Do you understand that?”

“So, that’s what Jilboa and Gooljin are for, right? I get that. But what about Kenji and Gorgoro?”

“The crops are very difficult to grow. Right now, only Gorgoro and I know how to grow them. The farmland can be anywhere, and the guards can be anyone. Unlike the farmland, we have the right to choose freely. So we can negotiate from a strong position.”

It seems Sara, who comes from a rural background, initially thought that those who own land are overwhelmingly powerful and that those who possess know-how have little corresponding rights.

Those with know-how have value and rights. Sara finally seems to understand this, her eyes widening as she exclaims:

“Kenji, this is an amazing system!!”

Yes, it’s impressive. I wonder if it’s okay to reveal it to the world.

“The number of issued shares represents the promise of how much crop will be produced. Shareholders will share the profits from the sale of the crops.”

“Yeah! I understand that!” Sara, still buzzing with excitement, answers loudly. “Look, my name is here!” She says happily.

It’s the first time she’s seen such a system, and finding her name among it is incredibly pleasing to her.

At first, she was skeptical of the organizational chart and prioritized eating white bread, but it’s amazing how quickly she’s become enthusiastic. With this explanation, it seems even people in this world might be able to understand it.
