Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 67
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
It has been ten days since I last visited the Sword Fangs Legion. It seems I’ve been wavering for quite a while.
As I walk alongside Sara towards the Second District, she remarks that I look much better today. In other words, I must have been in a bad mood for a long time. It’s been a while since the weather’s been nice.
The Sword Fangs Legion’s office in the Second District is even tidier than when I last saw it. There are flowers decorating key spots, though I have no idea where they are from.
“Wow, it’s nicer than I expected. I thought it would be a place with scarier-looking people,” Sara says.
Well, it used to be like that a while ago.
Inside the office, two or three young women dressed like city girls are cleaning and making tea while chatting with the Legion members.
“…Are you guys slacking off?” I ask Swiberry, who is busy chatting away.
“Well, don’t say that. We just got back from completing a quest yesterday. Recently, the morale of the members has been really high. Everything ended without any problems. By the way, how much will you sell those shoes for? How about two silver coins?”
“That’s actually why I came. Let me talk to the captain.”
With Swiberry’s guidance, I face Captain Jilboa in his office.
“How’s it going? Have you made up your mind?”
“Yeah. I was too soft in a lot of ways. So, first I want to show you my resolve and sincerity.”
“Hmm? I understand your resolve, but sincerity?”
“Let’s supply the first 100 pairs of shoes we manufacture to the Sword Fangs Legion. Each pair will be three large copper coins.”
“Huh?” Sara, who sits beside me, widens her eyes. We had discussed making them for just one large copper coin.
“That’s not a bad offer. But what’s the basis for the price?” Jilboa asks.
“We’ll prepare two sizes for the shoes. We’ll take everyone’s foot measurements and adjust them accordingly. Any slight size differences will be adjusted with insoles, which are like a carpet placed underneath. We’ll use a special type of reptilian lizard leather for the toes. This should significantly reduce injuries during combat. We’ll unify the color to match the Sword Fangs Legion’s colors. Do you have a design? We’ll add the Brigade’s emblem to all the shoes. This will make them exclusive to the Sword Fangs Legion. If any shoes get damaged, we’ll buy them back for five small copper coins.”
“I see,” murmurs Jilboa, lightly tapping the desk with his fingers. “Not bad. Exclusive shoes for the Legion. Kenji, you’ve come up with a good business idea.”
“We could even add griffon feathers to the Legion’s shoes,” I say jokingly.
“No, those should go on helmets. They’d get damaged on shoes,” he replies, deadpan.
Wait, he actually has them? This is what makes top-tier clans so incredible!
“But you’re giving in to my demands so easily. Are things going well?” I ask.
“Oh, yes. We’ve been receiving a lot of donations from merchants in the city recently.”
He has the skills and is becoming popular. There are likely many who want to get close to him.
For now, I’ll be introduced to a discreet leather craftsman.
