Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 60
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Kenji returns to the inn with a stern look on his face, and Sara greets him in surprise.
“Hey, Kenji, how do the sample shoes go? Do people not like them?”
“No, they love them. Maybe a bit too much.”
“Then why are your brows furrowed?” she asks, pointing to her own forehead.
I ignore her question and ask, “Sara, can you count?”
“Uh, yeah. Ever since I started getting paid for introducing tours, I keep track. I have to write down who I introduce and who pays me, or else I can’t remember.”
“How well can you write?”
“Well… I can manage people’s names and item names.”
“Alright, Sara. Starting tomorrow, you’ll join the novice adventurer tours. I’ll pay you an extra copper coin a day.”
Sara currently earns two copper coins a day from introductions, so an extra coin is a big deal. Unlike tasks outside the town, there’s no risk to life or wear and tear on equipment.
As expected, Sara stands up with sparkling eyes, then asks suspiciously, “It’s a good deal, but what’s with the sudden change?”
I answer casually, “Oh, it’s because I might die soon.”
Sara’s eyes widen, and after a moment of shock, she suddenly hugs me, tears streaming down her face. I drop the shoes I’m holding, taken aback by her unexpected reaction. After a while of patting her back, Sara, sniffling, says something surprising.
“Hey, let’s go back to the countryside. With the money we have, we can buy livestock and a farm. Let’s become farmers, okay? I’ll go with you,” she says.
Wait a minute. My hometown doesn’t exist in this world. And do you sound like some kind of Enka singer?
“Calm down, Sara. It’s not actually dangerous. I’m talking about being prepared. Besides, if you think about it, you’re more likely to die hunting monsters outside of town. Also, I can’t be a farmer with the condition of my knees.”
“But you’re doing something risky, aren’t you?”
What kind of person does she think I am? A mafia member or something?
“It’s about the shoes. Things go so well that I might end up clashing with some bigwig nobles or merchants. Plus, I’ll be tied up with the shoes for a while. That’s why I want you to take over the tours for novice adventurers. Of course, I won’t just throw everything at you right away. We’ll do it together for a bit until you learn the ropes. I want you to prioritize this over taking on quests. Are you up for it?”
Sara wipes her tears and says with a smile, “Of course! I’ll earn a ton of copper coins!”
