Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 54
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
What the children had in their hands was a slime core, something any novice adventurer could hunt.
In this world, slimes lurked in swamps and sewers, typically feeding on small birds and animals. However, those dwelling in towns occasionally attacked children, so they were exterminated upon discovery. In modern terms, they were akin to sewer rats.
Nevertheless, slime cores were processed into glue-like substances or used to increase the viscosity of dyes, making them a valuable commodity stocked in Leather Street workshops. The children were likely playing with them.
Seeing their perfect spherical shape and bounce, I thought to myself: why was I so fixated on reproducing rubber? I felt like smacking my foolish head. Even after five years since being transmigrated, it seemed I still hadn’t shaken off my modern world mindset.

Choosing elastic materials derived from monster parts, I used them in the heel and central part of the shoe to absorb impact. Once that direction was set, development progressed quickly. In this world, materials from monsters were more reliable in terms of supply and standardization than those from industrial sources. Adjusting for slight size differences was similar to sorting chicken eggs or oranges of uniform size.
Simply rolling over a toy with two holes allowed me to sift through the pieces, using only those that fell into the hole of exactly standard size. Non-standard items could be resold directly to the Adventurers Guild, minimizing losses.
Using slime cores as they were was rejected due to issues of blade resistance and durability. However, material processed by treating bird-shaped monster lungs and slime cores with chemicals and heat remained viable in terms of performance and price.
Bird-shaped monster lungs provided limited materials, making standardization difficult, but they demonstrated lightweight and high impact absorption. Compared to the lung bags, slime-processed cores were heavier but easier to standardize in size and more cost-effective. Using the former for high-end models and the latter for mass-market models would solve all material issues related to shoe manufacturing.
Now, I just need to find a reliable designer.
To prevent technology leaks, I carefully had multiple craftsmen assemble the parts, and we managed to complete a sample pair of mass-produced adventurer’s footwear. After a long while, I decided to visit the Sword Fangs Legion again.
