- Chapter 48 - The Reputation of the Sword Fangs Legion
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
That afternoon, when I went to the Adventurers’ Guild to guide a tour for rookie adventurers, I noticed the atmosphere in the guild was a bit different. Not only the newcomers but even the mid-level adventurers were looking at me and whispering among themselves. As I sat in my usual spot waiting for the meeting, one of the familiar mid-level adventurers approached me.
News travels fast. Well, with Vice-Commander Swiberry visiting me directly and Sara boasting loudly about it, it was only a matter of time before the rumors spread.
“Yeah, it’s true, they did invite me. I haven’t given them an answer yet, though.”
“Hey, can you recommend me to the Sword Fangs Legion? I’m confident in my skills.”
A recommendation. Hearing that, I was reminded of the reputation and brand of the Sword Fangs Legion, and it made me reassess my own position. I realized that I was in a unique position—connecting rookie adventurers with top-tier clans.
Although it wasn’t intentional, most of the new adventurers in this town used my tours. I kept detailed records of their adventures, including successes, failures, injuries, and deaths, along with the reasons for these outcomes. Accompanying them on their shopping trips meant I also remembered most of their faces, body types, and how they handled negotiations.
In other words, I had a wealth of data on which rookies were promising. This could be turned into a business opportunity. However, I wasn’t yet trusted enough by the Sword Fangs Legion to recommend personnel. That would have to wait for another time.
Having decided that, I turned back to the mid-level adventurer. I think his name was Paul.
“Paul, I’ve only had a brief conversation with the Sword Fangs Legion. I can’t recommend anyone yet.”
“I see… Sorry to bother you.”
Paul slumped his shoulders and left the table. The other adventurers who had been watching lost interest as well. The buzz in the guild returned to normal.
The reputation and brand of the Sword Fangs Legion were impressive. I’d definitely need their involvement in my shoe business.
