In the modern world, I’ve done plenty of sales presentations to important folks. Besides, I have a firm idea of what to do with the Sword Fang Legion. So I spoke up.

“To cut to the chase, the Sword Fang Legion should become even stronger,” I said, catching Jillboa and Swiberry off guard.

I get it. They probably thought I’d talk about how to maintain combat effectiveness at low cost in such a disadvantageous situation. After all, I’ve been teaching that to rookie adventurers. Swiberry must have heard about my reputation in that regard and approached me.

But for a top clan like the Sword Fang Legion, adopting such a policy would be disastrous. The irreplaceable value of the combat prowess they’ve cultivated would be lost.

“You guys have become too strong to just operate around this city. That’s why you should be able to thrive in a much wider area. In another region, there would be broader lands you desire, stronger enemies to defeat, and battlefields to conquer. To achieve that, you need to become even stronger.”

In this world, because of the threat posed by monster creatures, cities often have the characteristics of city-states. Most adventurers live under the jurisdiction of these cities. Going to another region is almost like saying, “Be affiliated with another nation” in the original world.

That may be true, but is that even possible? Some people wonder.

“If we could do that, we wouldn’t have any trouble. A single adventurer might be able to work in another city, but at our scale, we can’t just move our base and find work elsewhere. Besides, we have relationships with the nobles who support us. We can’t just abandon them,” Swiberry frowned, dismissing it as mere theory.

I don’t like theoretical talk either, so I say:

“No, the Sword Fang Legion won’t be moving. They’ll come to a different city instead.”
