Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 31
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
Now it was my turn to show my cards.
“A reward, huh? How much value can you place on something intangible? In other words, I have to decide the price of the Sword Fang Legion’s future,” Jilboa said with a smirk on his refined face. “Swiberry, how much do you think it’s worth?” he asked.
Swiberry thought for a moment and said, “Three large silver coins, I guess.”
“What’s your basis for that?”
Three large silver coins! That’s ten times the size of a large copper coin, which is itself ten times the size of a regular silver coin, so three of those. My monthly salary is thirty large copper coins and three silver coins, so that’s ten times that amount. Quite generous, huh? As expected, the pay is good when you become a vice captain of a top-tier clan.
Thinking like this, I started calculating the money.
“Is it not enough?” Jilboa stared at me.
“I’m afraid that’s not enough,” I replied without hesitation. “Because you haven’t heard my proposal yet. Isn’t it fair to set a price after that?”
“Just hearing the proposal doesn’t guarantee I’ll pay, you know?”
“Chief Chef wouldn’t stoop to such dishonest behavior,” I retorted.
Adventurers and mercenaries are creatures who care deeply about their status and reputation. To become the leader of a top-tier clan, one must excel in swordsmanship, be strong in drinking and gambling, and have a reputation for generosity. Could there be any underlings willing to follow a boss known for being stingy?
Moreover, I’m now finding myself in a role akin to a caretaker for the city’s new adventurers. For better or worse, I’m in a position to spread reputation. Understanding that, he must have been teasing me.
Jilboa returned to a serious expression and said to me, “I promise to reward you generously in the name of Jilboa of the Sword Fang Legion. Now, shall we hear what future you speak of, Kenji?”
