Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 376
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
The report I submitted to the upper echelons of the kingdom through the Adventurers’ Guild—the one that also ended up in the hands of the Church and led to my acquaintance with Priest Nicolo—was the subject of this discussion.
I’d heard that it was being circulated among the higher-ups of both the kingdom and the Church, so I assumed it had gained some recognition.
But judging by their shocked reactions, it seems things have escalated far beyond what I imagined.
“Hmph! I helped write that report too, you know!” Sara puffs out her chest proudly.
At the time, the report’s creation coincided with the launch of the shoe business, leaving me severely short-handed. I had relied heavily on Sara’s help to complete it.
She must be thrilled to see something she worked on receive such high praise.
“Is it really that surprising?” I ask, curious about what exactly has them so stunned.
“O-Of course it is! That report is now being kept under strict supervision at the highest levels! People call it the Book of Divine Revelation or the Book of Heavenly Prophecy! I was only able to catch a glimpse of it from afar, but it was bound in a magnificent cover adorned with gold and silver. Not only that—it’s stored in a special chamber protected by magic!”
Claudio, having finally recovered from his initial shock, blurts out the explanation at a rapid pace.
“What the hell…” Now it’s my turn to be speechless.
When I submitted that report, I bound it with whatever scrap wood I could find for a cover.
I did tell Urbano, the guild official handling it, to swap out the cover for something more presentable… but still.
As I try to process this absurd situation, Paperino continues his explanation.
“I’ve never read the contents myself. However, I’ve heard that the Church’s higher-ups circulated and copied it at an unprecedented pace. It’s said to contain prophecies that will save human society, and that by following its guidance, we can reclaim this world from the monsters and return it to humankind…”
Rodolf, the noble, chimes in from the side. “I’ve also heard rumors back at my family’s estate. They say that whoever possesses this book can instantly amass great wealth. Supposedly, a certain Count’s house acquired a copy, and their fortune doubled overnight…”
The others share similar stories.
It seems that, among the elite, my report has become something of a runaway bestseller.
Not that I’ve seen a single coin in royalties.
At the same time, I finally understand.
That report I wrote… might very well be the first business book in this world.
To support adventurers, I had outlined the importance of understanding their actual conditions, protecting them, and utilizing them effectively to drive economic growth for the kingdom. I included numerical data, areas needing improvement, and potential economic projections—all without holding back.
At first, only a handful of sharp minds like Priest Nicolo grasped its significance. But now, its impact is gradually being recognized more widely.
In my previous world, bookstores were filled with an entire section dedicated to business books. The intense competition refined their content, clarity, and accessibility.
Naturally, since I’d read plenty of them, I structured my report the same way.
But in this world, where publishing is still underdeveloped, my report arrived as the first of its kind—A book that was easy to understand, backed by numerical data, and promised a roadmap to wealth.
Of course it became a bestseller.
Thinking about the trouble this will bring me in the future, I tilt my head back and gaze up at the sky.
