Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 266
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
“Yes, I have indeed received the specified number of pioneer shoes.”
In a room inside the cathedral, I obtain a signature on the parchment from Deacon Michelino, and the delivery process is officially completed. The young members of Father Nicolo’s faction will likely handle the rest.
Finally, I can relax.
As I let out a sigh of relief, Deacon Michelino says, “Still, you manage to meet the deadline well. Father Nicolo is particularly pleased.”
In response, I puff out my chest and reply, “Yes. Everyone in the workshop really works hard.”
Deacon Michelino nods deeply and says, “Now, we can work with more leeway. This is truly helpful.”
It’s not uncommon, but just in case, I have been informed of an earlier date than the actual delivery date. If I fail to meet the schedule, I face reprimands or price negotiations.
Well, it’s something that often happens. Capable people always hedge against timeframes.
I understand that in my head.
However, recalling the harrowing times leading up to the delivery, it’s natural for my smile to stiffen a little.
Perhaps sensing my mood, Deacon Michelino seems a bit flustered and says, “A-Anyway, about the next delivery, I think it would be best to allow for a bit more leeway. Once the cardinal’s unveiling is complete, it’s certain that more orders will come in. I recommend starting production early.”
The church is spread throughout the entire kingdom, so it’s certain that the demand won’t be limited to just this town.
His opinion that we should anticipate future demand and produce accordingly is correct.
“I greatly appreciate the advice, but the problem lies in where to store the manufactured pioneer shoes. Also, we need a system to manage orders and payments. If we can’t solve these two issues, even if we produce in advance, the shoes might get damaged, they might not fit the sizes we made, or payment might not be received.”
Regarding my concerns, Deacon Michelino says, “I think the church can manage the orders and payments.”
Originally, the church is wealthy. To what extent? They are rich enough to lend development funds to the count who governs this town.
Handling payments related to a mere shoe business shouldn’t be an issue for them.
Moreover, they have a plethora of young people skilled in clerical work, so they can easily handle the administrative tasks related to payments.
The power of a large organization like the church is truly impressive.
I wish we had such capable young people in our company.
Sara has been doing a good job, but it would be much easier if we had someone educated to assist with clerical work beneath her.
“By the way, is it difficult to provide a place to store the manufactured shoes?” I ask about the point Deacon Michelino hasn’t addressed.
His response is, “If there are no orders in advance, how can you decide what and how many to produce?”
Hearing that, I realize that Deacon Michelino believes that it is impossible to produce shoes that should be perfectly tailored to foot sizes without first receiving orders.
He is likely only considering temporarily holding orders of about 10 or 20 pairs, which is why he hasn’t expressed a particular opinion on storage space.
In response, I say, “If we have a storage place, we can produce and deliver 1,000 or even 2,000 pairs in advance. And they will be shoes that fit the sizes perfectly.”
But Deacon Michelino’s eyes widen in surprise, and Sara gives me a suspicious look.
