However, as he tries to leave, I quickly stop him. It may suffice for influential people to simply express their wishes, but for practical individuals, actions must follow.

I need to gather the necessary information right then. “Lord Nicolo, may I ask you two questions? Would the Cardinal prefer something flashy or simple? Also, could you lend me the shoes he used before? This would save us the trouble of measuring his feet again.”

Father Nicolo appears uninterested in such tedious formalities and simply signals Deacon Michelino with his eyes to make the necessary arrangements before departing.

Once Father Nicolo and his entourage leave, the pressure that fills the church seems to dissipate, and the atmosphere lightens. However, in contrast to this shift, Deacon Michelino’s expression remains stern.

As an outsider, I struggle to understand the gravity of the situation. It seems momentous that a newly established workshop like ours is in charge of the Cardinal’s costumes.

“Is that so? Someone of low birth like me can’t really grasp how significant it is…” I muse aloud.

I can’t outright say that it feels unreal because I come from another world, so I signal silently to Sara, who stands nearby, to ask her. However, she too is just an ordinary farmer.
