Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 211
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
How do we reconcile the idealism inherent in the system for spreading the Church’s seal with the social constraints of reality?
In other words, what compromises can we make to ensure that the nobles and the Church do not feel threatened by our organization?
The actions and results required to achieve this depend not on theoretical discussions but on how we design the practical aspects.
Debate for the sake of argument may create divisions, but it cannot resolve contradictions.
We should start by focusing on what we can agree on first.
In this case, we begin with the structure of the Church’s departments.
The first person we need to align with to promote the Church’s seal is Deacon Michelino, who is familiar with the Church’s structure.
With that in mind, I address Deacon Michelino. “There are many points to discuss, but first, let’s focus on the practical aspects of the organization that will protect the reputation of the Church’s seal.”
Deacon Michelino seems to agree with this approach. “That’s right. By considering the actual organization and procedures, we can determine the necessary amount of funding and personnel. I would like to present a complete outline to Father Nicolo and seek his approval.”
Deacon Michelino’s intentions are clear. Father Nicolo must be very busy managing various tasks as the cardinal’s assistant. To demonstrate his value as a subordinate, Deacon Michelino wants to present Father Nicolo with a highly accurate draft that has been thoroughly reviewed.
“We discussed earlier the role of a judge, and if that’s the case, it might be beneficial to model the organization and principles after those of the judiciary. It may also be wise to place individuals with legal expertise at the center of the practical staff.” I suggest
When I suggest this, Deacon Michelino agrees but asks for more details. “I understand the skills required for personnel. But how many people do you think we need in the organization?”
The key to answering a vague question is to clarify the prerequisites and then narrow down the situation. In this case, I can relate the expected growth stage of the management department to the number of personnel.
“That’s right. A small number will suffice at the start. I’d like about three people from the Church. Any more than that might hinder our discussions. Ideally, I would like someone young and adaptable who has studied law. Together with this person, we will conduct the initial operations in this city alone. By accumulating various cases there, we should be able to establish a system with different mechanisms. In fact, there is already a similar system for managing these seals, which we can use as a reference.”
Deacon Michelino looks surprised when I mention this and tries to speak up, but then he hesitates, as if he has realized something.
“Yes, it seems you have thought of something. The Guardian Shoes that Deacon Michelino is wearing right now have the seal of the Sword Fangs Legion engraved on them. Aren’t you interested in how they manage the seals in this city?”
When I bring this up, Deacon Michelino nods firmly and says, “I would love to hear from those with more experience.”
