Helping with Adventurer Party Management - Chapter 8
Dear Readers,
Due to a temporary website issue, starting around April 3, all novels started before January 2025 will be temporarily moved to the drafts folder for approximately 3–4 weeks. Unfortunately, this novel is included in that list.
In the meantime, I will be uploading the latest advance chapters to my Ko-fi account for my supporters. Regular updates will resume as soon as the site allows.
Thank you for your patience and support!
The next morning, while having breakfast on the first floor of the inn, Sarah, who had visited again today, asked, “How did it go with Kimberley and the others?”
Is she going out on a mission? Well, I guess she’s just curious for now.
“For a business dealing with poor beginners, it’s decent.” I handed her a copper coin, “Here’s the fee for this request.”
“Huh, why? Shouldn’t I be the one paying?”
“I said the reward was 3 small copper coins, right? I received 4 small copper coins as a service fee from Kimberly and the others. I’ll pay you 1 small copper coin as a referral fee for introducing them to me.”
“Ohh…” Sarah’s eyes sparkled somewhat.
“Well, if you come across other financially challenged folks who seem in need, bring them to me. Just like I did with Kimberly and the others, I’ll teach them party management first. It’s 1 small copper coin per person. Half upfront and half after. And one coin as a referral fee to the introducer after successful consultation.”
“Why is there an upfront fee for financially challenged and a referral fee after successful consultation?”
“There’s a reason for that. Financially challenged folks don’t have money at hand. They don’t trust me and I don’t trust them either, so it’s half upfront and half after. You might end up introducing unreliable folks. So, the referral fee is given after successful consultations.”
“You seem to be thinking about this a lot… Why are you doing something like being an adventurer? You seem to be educated.”
“Don’t ask. I’m a drifter, so I can’t do normal business in this town. You need to buy expensive citizenship to enter the first-class district.”
“Hmm…” Sarah nodded, but didn’t seem entirely convinced. She clutched the copper coin. “Alright, I’ll find more financially challenged folks to introduce!” she said, about to run off.
“Wait a second. I can only guide three groups a day. I’d have to adjust my schedule to do more than that.”
“What do you mean, adjust your schedule?” Sarah asked.
“That’s right…”
