“Is it faster if I walk together with you, or was it faster the way we came before?” This large bundle was nearly half Ah Long’s height.

Hahaha… Yi Lehe looked at the bundle, then at Ah Long, and couldn’t help laughing out loud. “How could she have worn such a heavy dress?”

Ah Long wrinkled her nose, puzzled at first, then stared expressionlessly at Yi Lehe. “We have less than 90 seconds left.”

“I think you looked very beautiful in that wedding dress. It would be a shame to only keep the waistband.”

“Besides, we’re out of time now. We’ll have to wait for the next team to rescue us.”

After saying this, Yi Lehe suddenly seemed relaxed. “Protecting Ah Long is something I can still do.”

He had already sent the message to his team members.

“I think us dying here over a wedding dress would look even better. Weren’t we supposed to have some time left?”

Ah Long was confused. Sitting on the bed, she waited for Yi Lehe to explain.

“Alright, don’t be upset. I’ll tell you why.”

Ah Long nearly broke down. “Why is this recording again?” The familiar recording, the familiar beeping, followed by Ah Long’s own voice.

“This is what I said the day I was captured.” After a moment’s thought, Ah Long understood. “So that recording has been released.”

“So now I’m added to their target list.” Ah Long pointed at herself.

“And if The Ln City shares the plan with The Lm City, I’ll be unwelcome on both sides.” Ah Long was dazed. “When people encounter these situations, don’t they usually just make up random lies?”

“How come the kidnappers care about this sort of thing?”

“I estimate it’ll happen soon.”

Ah Long chuckled dryly. “They can’t possibly both come after me alone, right?”

“I estimate it’ll happen soon.”

“Are you gloating?”

Yi Lehe swore he had no such intention. He just found it amusing how much more familiar Ah Long had become with him, she even rolled her eyes at him now.

Ah Long couldn’t understand this kind of amusement. Not long ago, she had genuinely wanted to die, but Yi Lehe seemed to dance on the edge of death with complete confidence.

“But I didn’t say anything that serious either. Disputes like this only happen when you criticize their films, don’t they?” Ah Long felt like she had amnesia, she had no memory of it.

“Weren’t you livestreaming?” Yi Lehe pointed to the projector on Ah Long’s collar.

“Guess if I have the sound muted now?” Ah Long finally realized, “even if livestream services didn’t fully cover L Planet, accessing the internet was easy.”

And she had forgotten, wasn’t Yi Lehe also involved? “Couldn’t he have reminded me a little?”

Ah Long glanced at the stream chat. Everyone was either mocking her or calling her adorably foolish. She simply switched the sound to mute.

This drew protests from the viewers, but the decision was Ah Long’s. “If I say so, it’s so. She decided to let them watch another silent film.”

“Tell me, how do we stay in the hotel for 14 hours?”

Yi Lehe just smiled without speaking.

“What’s wrong now?”

He waved his hand. “They can read lips.”

Ah Long was stunned. Sighing, she said, “Surely The L Planet people can’t read lips too, right?” She promptly closed the livestream. A-Ba-A-Ba, she called silently in her mind.

She received a response from A-Ba-A-Ba. Good, it’s not broken.

“Let’s go to the underground floors first. We can’t hold out here.” Seeing Ah Long’s look of utter resignation, Yi Lehe finally offered some comfort.

This time, Ah Long learned her lesson. She asked nothing and simply followed Yi Lehe obediently.

Yi Lehe had offered to carry her on his back, but she refused. “If we’re not in a hurry, there’s no need to rush.”

Ah Long’s impression of Yi Lehe was changing rapidly.

Looking at the hotel slippers, Ah Long felt she could handle high heels better.

Looking down, she could see the tips of the slippers. A style she had hated at first, but now the best choice available.

The two walked quietly until they reached a fork in the corridor. Ah Long thought, “Crap, I forgot which way to go next.”

Yi Lehe, seeing Ah Long’s hesitant expression, pointed to the left.

“If you know everything, why make me lead the way?” Ah Long wanted to ask Yi Lehe, “Do you think you’re very impressive?”

But after witnessing Yi Lehe’s many shifts in demeanor, she felt this wasn’t the end of it. “I’m seeing less and less clearly what kind of person Yi Lehe really is.”

If Yi Lehe knew what Ah Long was thinking, he would feel truly wronged.

At first, when we weren’t familiar, of course I was polite and respectful. Later, finding Ah Long interesting, “I paid a bit more attention. Then, after learning about her livestream, I found her somewhat adorable.”

“This is just normal interpersonal interaction, changes are natural.”

But to Ah Long, it felt like three different Yi Lehes had appeared within a single day.

Meanwhile, Team 5412 had arrived at the bunker Ning Bai mentioned, a manor that looked nothing like a bunker.

Exchanging glances, they silently agreed, “We can pull something off here.”

Wang Xing openly checked the tracking device—jammed. He casually turned it off, looking somewhat worried.

Then, shielded by his teammates, he stealthily took out another device.

He continued communicating with the captain.

Back with Ah Long, she watched Yi Lehe lay out tactics. Blinking, she bit her lower lip hard. “I have this feeling of being kept in the dark, playing like a fool.”

After Yi Lehe finished, Ah Long stated her decision: “I’m not involving myself in anything anymore. I’m going to sleep right here on the floor and not wake up until the rescue team arrives. You decide the rest yourself.”

Ah Long’s attitude wasn’t uncooperative, it was just that following Yi Lehe was too mentally exhausting. Everything seems calculated. “It’s possible that The Lm and The Ln City both wanted to target me because of Yi Lehe.”

Without waiting for Yi Lehe’s response, Ah Long found a corner, lay down, and immediately fell asleep.

Perhaps from days without proper sleep, the moment Ah Long leaned against the wall, an overwhelming fatigue washed over her. Within seconds, she was truly asleep.

Yi Lehe approached Ah Long and carefully draped his jacket over her.

A pang of guilt struck him. “If I hadn’t been so engrossed watching the livestream replay, we wouldn’t be in this situation. We could have left directly.”

“My fault for not checking my surroundings while watching the stream.” Ning Bai had been sitting behind him, eyes closed, and had also heard Ah Long watching The Sorrow of Beiheze and expressing appreciation.

In Ning Bai’s view, Ah Long was trying to play both sides. But on L Planet, film was their most sacred faith. There was no room for dual allegiance. The Red Sky was ten thousand times better than The Sorrow of Beiheze.

Ning Bai believed that only true immersion could allow one to feel the comfort art brings to the soul.

Thus, he developed the idea that those who didn’t understand art deserved to be hanged, and that person was Ah Long. Ah Long must be hanged.

One could say Ah Long was suffering an undeserved calamity. Everything happened by chance, yet it was pushing Ah Long toward the guillotine.

Yi Lehe had just finished watching Ah Long’s stream when Wang Xing asked, “Captain, did you have some dispute? Why did Ning Bai storm out angrily?”

Yi Lehe didn’t know either and was still wondering, until he watched Ah Long’s entire stream and understood what had happened.

He stood up with a sigh, inwardly smiling bitterly. “I truly didn’t know L Planet’s relationships were so complex, they could come to blows over a film. It’s just a single comment; why elevate it to clan sentiment?”

That’s what he thought, but he still called for reinforcements, without a second’s hesitation.

“Wang Xing, if because of me, you were hunted by an entire planet, what would you think of me?” Yi Lehe slung an arm over Wang Xing’s shoulder, recalling Ning Bai’s expression, and revealed a kindly smile.

“Is there such a good thing?” Wang Xing thought. “Maybe just kill him?” But facing the captain, he couldn’t speak his true thoughts, or he’d be put through brutal training.

“I might… want you to handle it yourself?” Wang Xing felt the suggestion he came up with was excellent. “I’m a genius. This perfectly measured flattery, combined with trust in the captain’s abilities.” He gave himself a mental thumbs-up.

Yi Lehe, in his panic, actually followed Wang Xing’s advice, leading to everything that happened afterward.

Seeing Ah Long really intending to sleep, Yi Lehe breathed a sigh of relief internally. “It would be best if we could just leave directly. If Ah Long found out, who knows what would happen? It’s good she’s asleep.”

His fingers lightly brushed the dark circles under Ah Long’s eyes, then quickly withdrew. He sat beside her for a while, listening to her steady breathing. After some time, he finally decided to get up and deal with the situation upstairs.

The surveillance he had set up showed about twenty people had entered Galaxy Hotel and were systematically searching floor by floor for them.

“First, deal with these people.” Yi Lehe stretched and prepared to go out and fight.

Before leaving, he pulled some items in front of Ah Long to block her from view. Even though he had set up many defensive devices at the entrance, he was still worried.

Ah Long slept dreamlessly. When she woke up, Yi Lehe was beside her. At some point, she had leaned against his leg.

“Hello there!”

This smile was Yi Lehe’s most sincere one since his mistake, showing two rows of white teeth, clearly displaying his happiness.

Ah Long first sat up, then asked Yi Lehe,
“How long did I sleep?”

“Not long. We can leave in about two more hours.”

Ah Long scrutinized Yi Lehe’s expression. “He doesn’t seem to be speaking sarcastically, but it sounds strange no matter how I hear it. Eleven hours seems like a lot.”

“Forget it. I’ll sleep a bit more. If we can leave, just wake me up.”

Unable to handle Yi Lehe, Ah Long could only sleep. She didn’t even want to talk.

Yi Lehe had a bellyful of words he wanted to explain to Ah Long, but she closed her eyes after speaking, giving him no chance.

The words at the tip of his tongue had to be swallowed back down.

Leaning against the wall again, Ah Long fell back asleep.

Yi Lehe frowned, looking pitifully aggrieved as he glanced at his own numb leg. “It would be nice if Ah Long could keep sleeping on it.”

Things didn’t go as he wished. Until departure, Ah Long remained leaning against the wall. She even heard the sound of their teammates finding them before he did.
