Why My Sponsor Going Crazy Sending Me Money? - Chapter 10
The livestream chat erupted into heated discussion.
[“I think the Jing family’s service is terrible—why are they so aggressive?”]
[“Exactly! Ah Long was even willing to pay extra, but she ran into awful people.”]
Jing Mingchu had witnessed everything, from the wedding dress viewing to the conversation between the two, and he even recognized Jing Shaoning’s voice. Ever since Jing Shaoning stopped working as his assistant as frequently, his intelligence seems to have dropped significantly.
Jing Mingchu let out a light chuckle and slapped his pen onto the desk. “Contact Shaoning.”
His assistant, who had also seen the entire incident unfold, silently mourned for Jing Shaoning in his heart.
The room fell silent for a moment, the assistant not even daring to breathe loudly. Then, Jing Mingchu’s voice cut through the stillness.
“Was your communication with Ah Long… effective?”
The phrase “was it effective” masked all of Jing Mingchu’s emotions, sounding like nothing more than casual conversation.
But Jing Shaoning was terrified. Jing Mingchu rarely used such phrasing, unless he was questioning himself. In an instant, Jing Shaoning realized. Ah Long had been livestreaming their conversation, and Jing Mingchu had been watching the entire time. ‘I’m dead.’
In that split second, Jing Shaoning had already drafted his own epitaph, “Another victim of Jing Mingchu’s wrath.”
But death wouldn’t solve anything. He still had to clean up this mess, otherwise, even if he died, Jing Mingchu would drag him back to life.
“I’ll apologize immediately and fulfill all of Ah Long’s demands,” Jing Shaoning stammered.
Satisfied with the promise, Jing Mingchu ended the call without another word. Without looking up from his documents, he said, “Delay this afternoon’s meeting by 20 minutes. Go monitor Jing Shaoning and see how he handles this.”
The assistant clicked his tongue inwardly. He’s using “Jing Shaoning” instead of “Shaoning”, his mood must really be foul. Still, orders were orders. The boss had only given a 20-minute grace period.
Meanwhile, Ah Long was still reading the chat’s praises for the wedding dress, especially its gemstones. Heh, seems everyone agrees with me. Another call came through. The same person again? No one ever contacts Ah Long this frequently.
She stayed silent, waiting for the caller to speak first. “Hello, I’m Fang Cu, a representative of the Jing Group. I’m here to address the inappropriate notice you received earlier. Due to our employee Jing Shaoning’s poor attitude and the misinformation he provided, you had a very unpleasant experience. We sincerely apologize. Ah Long, we’re deeply sorry.”
Ah Long recognized Jing Shaoning’s voice.
He sounded sincere, but she remained quiet. “Your trip will proceed exactly as you requested. Additionally, we’ll refund the entire cost. We apologize again for the inconvenience. If there’s anything else you need, just name it, we’ll make it happen.”
Finally, Ah Long responded coolly, “Just stick to the original plan.”
“Understood. We’ll ensure you receive exceptional service. Have a wonderful experience.”
Ah Long had already formed an impression of Jing Shaoning, a petty opportunist, probably the one behind that shady transportation fee. To most people, his behavior would qualify as fraud.
But those who could afford these services didn’t care about the money, and those who couldn’t would never encounter it.
‘What a sleazebag.’
Ah Long decided to erase him from her memory entirely. Soon, this whole ordeal would fade like passing clouds.
Livestream Chat Reactions:
[“Jing Group handled this well, but what about punishing Jing Shaoning?”]
[“Punish him? He’s a Jing, probably some young master forced to apologize!”]
[“Ah Long’s too kind. I’d demand they fire him!”]
[“She got a full refund—let it go.”]
[“Since when does Ah Long care about money?!”]
Seeing the argument brewing, Ah Long intervened, “It’s resolved. I’m satisfied with their response, so drop it. No more fighting. Besides, we’re about to depart. Didn’t you all say Planet L has been acting strange lately? Spam the chat with details.”
For the rest of the pre-launch time, Ah Long researched Planet L’s anomalies. But most comments were hearsay, except for one from someone who’d already left.
‘Ugh, Bamboo Livestream’s so lazy, not even covering the whole universe. Guess I’ll have to investigate myself.’
News reports only mentioned tensions between Planet L’s two nations (A and B), now on the verge of cutting ties. Mysterious planet. I’ll figure it out when I land.
Time flew, and soon Ah Long, now glamorously dressed, boarded the aircraft, livestreaming the entire process.
The audience was mesmerized.
[“Ah Long, BURN THOSE T-SHIRTS!”]
[“BURN THEM!!”]
Ah Long ignored the spam, but her confidence soared. I look like a goddess. Even this ship feels unworthy now. The entourage, all in black suits and sunglasses, barely registered in her mind.
But then, instead of transferring to a commercial flight, a private Jing Group starship awaited, emblazoned with their sunflower emblem.
‘No way. Do I owe them money now?’ She dismissed the thought.
‘If they’re this rich, they won’t miss my pennies.’
Livestream Chat:
[“Jing Group flexing HARD!”]
[“That’s their personal ship! They’re really apologizing!”]
[“New respect for Jing Group (but Jing Shaoning’s still trash).”]
Jing Shaoning, watching the stream, seethed. Yeah, I messed up! But I’m not the family disgrace! (Unbeknownst to him, this was Jing Group’s first-ever public scandal.)
Jing Mingchu had approved the private ship, knowing it’d raise eyebrows. Now everyone will ask, Who is Ah Long? His mother, having grilled his assistant, called to “casually” inquire about his sudden interest in a livestreamer.
“I’ll visit tonight,” he said flatly.
“Prepare your questions, no guarantees I’ll answer everything.”
The assistant, sweating under Jing Mingchu’s gaze, stammered, “Sir, I only shared your schedule, that’s allowed, right?”
“I didn’t forbid it,” Jing Mingchu replied, amused.
“Just… mind the boundaries.” The assistant fled, internally screaming. His vague warnings are TORTURE!
Ah Long slept through most of the 4-day journey. Oddly, her viewer count rose, fans mesmerized by her “sleeping goddess” aura.
Jing Mingchu never closed her stream. And as Planet L drew nearer, the mysteries, and the real drama, were just beginning.
