“Is there content that wasn’t written in many of the references?”
Ting Wan’s lips curved into a smile, though her exquisite face remained incredibly cold. “I should thank you… Thank you for the handkerchief you gave me. Jianyue has always been so kind.”
Chi Jianyue was pinned beneath her, her shirt collar disheveled, revealing half of her chest. Black lace delicately wrapped around her fair bre❤sts, their ample curves threatening to burst out.
“I’m sorry…” Her eyes reddened, offering only apologies, seemingly unaware of what the woman was doing to her.
Ting Wan’s hand slipped beneath the shirt, directly touching the soft, full mounds. “Why apologize?”
Their bodies, well-acquainted with desire, quickly responded to the fondling. Chi Jianyue’s cheeks flushed, matching the redness around her eyes. She looked pitiful, panting and trembling, “I didn’t expect it to be like this… I shouldn’t have investigated you without permission. I’m sorry…”
The computer screen glowed nearby, displaying a past she wished to forget. In front of her was the intoxicating scent of a woman, an endless sea of desire, as if two incompatible worlds had merged. One represented the past, and the other the present.
What had she done wrong? She had merely stumbled into her own world.
Ting Wan suddenly felt bored, retracting her hand to button Chi Jianyue’s shirt back up. Her long hair fell on both sides, her face engulfed in shadow, dim and indistinct.
“Now that Jianyue knows everything, she should understand the kind of person I am. Not as you imagined…”
The remaining words abruptly vanished in her throat as Chi Jianyue sat up, hastily embracing her, her arms exerting a force that almost merged them into one. Ting Wan’s hand still lingered on the buttons, pressed between the two.
Chi Jianyue fell into panic for no apparent reason. “Ting Wan…! I just wanted to know more about you. No matter what kind of person you are, I like you.”
The girl’s muffled voice came from her shoulder, pressing against her chest, where her heart beat vigorously.
Was this a confession?
Ting Wan stared blankly, as if the sound of her heartbeat resonated through her palm, creating a shared frequency.
“If you also like me… don’t push me away, don’t pretend with me.”
Chi Jianyue looked up at her, her eyelashes glistening with moisture, her earnest emotions almost overflowing. “The more I know, the more I will like you…”
All is silent.
Ting Wan has read many books, whether profound literary works or cheesy romance novels. She devours them all, hoping to compensate for what was missing in her past. But now she realizes that what is missing is simply missing. No sentence can express the tumultuous emotions inside her. She has never experienced such explicit affection before.
Despite her efforts to pretend to be someone others would like, she cannot change the fact that she is fundamentally a paranoid, insecure, and timid person.
Time and time again, she pushes Chi Jianyue away. Is it out of self-loathing or simply because she enjoys the other’s fascination with her, the relentless pursuit, and the complete display of affection without reservation?
Ting Wan is inherently despicable. She doesn’t love herself and doesn’t even know how to love someone else.
The beautiful illusion shatters, and the fool lost in the reverie awakens, still proclaiming her affection for her.
Ting Wan’s eyes narrow, the curve of her lips widening slightly. It is the posture of a victor.
She is a wicked woman, but it doesn’t matter.
“Jianyue, is this your final choice?”
The girl understands nothing, or perhaps she understands everything. When she sees Ting Wan smile, her eyes sparkle with hopeful anticipation. “I’ve only ever had this one choice.”
– Someone will eventually love her.
———–
Love can make people feel inferior, whether it’s an already proud Ojou-sama or someone like Ting Wan who appears to be in control. The true power lies in the hands of no one in particular; both individuals are torn within their own hearts.
Writing this, I couldn’t help but think of a famous quote from “No Longer Human”: “Cowards are afraid of happiness; they get hurt even by cotton. Sometimes, happiness hurts them too.” It seems to resonate with Ting Wan.
