Nothing happened that night.

Although Chi Jianyue got drunk, she woke up alone the next day, and her body, as usual, clearly indicated the fact that Ting Wan hadn’t done anything.

The door creaked open from the inside, revealing Chi Jianyue’s slightly melancholic face. Ting Wan saw her and smiled, saying, “I wanted to let you sleep a little longer. I didn’t wake you up for breakfast. I’ve prepared lunch, it’s on the dining table. I made some soup, remember to have a warm bowl for your stomach later.”

Chi Jianyue had her long straight hair curled, with the ends resting on her shoulders like a crescent moon. She was wearing a champagne-colored vintage French shirt, paired with a matching skirt. She looked charming and elegant, as if she was ready to go out.

“Are you going to work so early today?”

“I have some things to take care of.”

“If you need anything, just send me a message. I can leave work to pick you up.”

Ting Wan shook her head. “It’s okay.” Before leaving, she couldn’t resist her curiosity and asked, “Why did you suddenly want to drink last night?”

Chi Jianyue felt guilty and didn’t answer. Ting Wan asked again, “Do you remember what happened after you got drunk?”

As the time approached midnight, most of the buildings around her had their lights turned off, and it was quiet all around. Chi Jianyue sat in the living room facing the balcony, which provided the best view of the activity downstairs.

The residential buildings in this area were not very tall, with the highest one being only six floors. Ting Wan lived on the third floor, so when she heard a car sound from downstairs, Chi Jianyue quickly put down her computer and walked to the balcony.

Looking down, she could see everything happening at the bottom of the building from this height. A black Mercedes stopped downstairs. First, a well-dressed man got out of the car. He gently placed his hand on the roof of the car and opened the door. Then, a graceful woman stepped out from the passenger seat. The two of them stood together and talked for a long time. The woman had a gentle smile, wearing high heels that made her half a head shorter than the man. When she spoke, she had to tilt her head slightly and her gaze was focused. It was a scene of an attractive couple.

Chi Jianyue stared blankly for a while, emotions swirling in her chest, unable to describe the mixture of feelings.

She turned around and switched off the lights in the living room, returning to her room. Even though no one noticed, she felt embarrassed for the first time.

Ting Wan seemed to sense something and looked up towards the direction of the balcony.

“Thank you, Mr. Lu, for bringing me back. It was originally supposed to be a farewell party for you, but in the end, it became a trouble for you. I’m really sorry.”

The two of them had been standing there for a while. When Ting Wan returned, she noticed that the lights were on in the house. She thought that Chi Jianyue might still be awake, waiting for her, and her mindset couldn’t help but change. After a few polite words, she bid farewell to the man.
