Despite Chi Jianyue repeatedly emphasizing that she didn’t want to be strong, Zhuang Xiao clearly didn’t believe her and insisted on taking her to “Garden” that night.
In fact, even before “Garden” became popular online, Chi Jianyue was aware of its existence. Being a local, she had friends in the circle of rich second-generation elites who were always up for a good time. However, in the past, she had refrained from going to such places due to having a boyfriend. So whenever someone invited her, she would decline.
She wasn’t too upset about it, but there was still a lingering sense of frustration. Zhuang Xiao was so insistent, so she agreed.
The two of them set a time, and Zhuang Xiao specifically emphasized that she should leave early to avoid traffic. Chi Jianyue took her time getting ready, and in the end, she left a bit late, completely losing her patience in the traffic jam.
In addition to her, a few other friends were also invited. Zhuang Xiao made a few phone calls and, seeing that Chi Jianyue hadn’t arrived yet, decided to start drinking first. She sent the address and asked Chi Jianyue to come over when she arrived.
“Garden” wasn’t hard to find. True to its name, the front of the establishment was adorned with beautiful flowers, indicating that the owner had good taste. It instantly dispelled Chi Jianyue’s biased view of seedy establishments.
As she pushed open the door and entered, Chi Jianyue was greeted by an incredibly beautiful woman. It was rare for Chi Jianyue to give such high praise to someone’s appearance. The woman was wearing a creamy white French-style halter dress, and her long black hair cascaded down her shoulder, shining like ebony under the lights. It added to her elegance and sophistication.
It was hard to believe that a hostess in a establishment like this could be so stunning.
“Welcome to ‘kilig’,” the woman greeted with a slight bow, her voice gentle and her signature smile back on her face. “If you’re looking for ‘Garden,’ it’s next door.”
Chi Jianyue’s gaze shifted away, and only then did she notice the sign that read ‘kilig.’ She had heard that there was a hostess bar similar to ‘Garden’ on Bahe Road, so she understood that she had come to the wrong place. Although her intention had been exposed, her face didn’t show any signs of embarrassment or frustration.
Even though it was embarrassing, the woman’s knowing expression made Chi Jianyue frown. Her inherent spoiled nature kicked in, and she expressed her dissatisfaction, “I haven’t come to the wrong place. What, you don’t serve female customers here?”
“Of course we do, please follow me this way,” Tīng wǎn didn’t say much more. There was no reason to drive away a customer. She personally led Chi Jianyue to a private booth.
She handed Chi Jianyue a damp towel and brought over a fruit platter and the drink menu. Chi Jianyue didn’t even bother to look at them and said, “Bring me the most expensive bottle.” After a moment’s pause, she added, “Put it on my tab.”
Although it was her first time here, Chi Jianyue still understood the rules of this kind of place.
Upon hearing her request, Tīng wǎn’s smile seemed to deepen even more than before. Her gaze towards Chi Jianyue was filled with interest.
Meanwhile, an excited bartender clapped his hands and announced, “A bottle of Louis XIII for Tīng wǎn Mama!”
A bottle of Louis XIII costs over thirty thousand. It wasn’t a common order, so the other hostesses in the establishment looked over, their expressions filled with surprise when they saw it was a female customer.
Chi Jianyue noticed the bartender’s address, unable to believe that someone so young was the Mama-san of the establishment.
Tīng wǎn called someone else to take over the reception duties and sat down next to Chi Jianyue, holding a tray. “As a first-time visitor, how may I address you?”
“No need,” Chi Jianyue awkwardly refused Tīng wǎn’s attempt to wipe her hands. She took the damp towel and said, “Chi Jianyue.”
“Jianyue…” the woman murmured softly, calling her name in a way that seemed unnecessarily ambiguous. Her eyes were filled with a mischievous glint, causing Chi Jianyue to inexplicably want to look away.
“It matches my name well, doesn’t it? Just call me Tīng wǎn,” she said with a smile.
