The next day, Chi Jianyue woke up at home. The midday sun shone on her face, waking her up from her deep slumber, accompanied by a throbbing headache from the hangover.
Last night, Zhuang Xiao said he wanted to take her out for a drink to change her mood, and then… Chi Jianyue knows her alcohol tolerance well, so she probably had too much and was sent back by him.
However, she felt refreshed, and her clothes had obviously been changed. There was no overpowering smell of alcohol lingering on her body. When did Zhuang Xiao become so caring?
The sense of strangeness reached its peak when she saw the prepared breakfast on the table. Growing up together, Chi Jianyue knew Zhuang Xiao’s abilities in the kitchen. Not to mention making breakfast, even using a rice cooker could potentially set the kitchen on fire.
There was a bacon sandwich and a fried egg on the plate. Sleeping until noon, her stomach, ravaged by alcohol, began to protest. Without thinking too much, Chi Jianyue assumed that Zhuang Xiao had bought it and took a bite. It was then that she noticed a cup of honey water next to it, with a note underneath.
【I only found these ingredients at Jianyue’s home and made something random. Don’t mind it. Remember to heat it up before eating if you wake up, and if you have a headache, drink this cup of honey water.】
The handwriting was elegant and the strokes graceful. Chi Jianyue had seen it on a handwritten business card before. In this world, there aren’t many people who call her Jianyue.
She hammered her head in annoyance. She knew it! How could Zhuang Xiao be so thoughtful, changing her clothes, removing her makeup, making breakfast, and even brewing honey water for her… Wait a minute… changing clothes… She lowered her head and looked at the camisole nightdress she was wearing. Then Ting Wan must have seen everything!
Memories slowly came back. Chi Jianyue felt embarrassed at first, wondering how she ended up pitifully running to ‘kilig’ and saying those cringe-worthy words to Ting Wan. But… the results seem to be quite good, right? At least Ting Wan’s attitude towards her now is completely different from before.
However…
She frowned as she looked at the sandwich she had taken a bite of in her hand. What does “pet” mean?
Could this be a feeding?
Chi Jianyue was never one to let her mind wander aimlessly, unable to come up with an answer. So that evening, she stormed into ‘kilig’ to confront Ting Wan face to face and get some clear answers.
Ting Wan saw her with the same smile as always, as if nothing had happened, and there was no distance between them.
“Is your head still hurting?” she stopped Chi Jianyue from ordering alcohol, “You drank too much last night, so let’s have some juice today.”
Before Chi Jianyue could respond, Ting Wan arranged for the bartender to bring some juice.
“Does ‘kilig’ sell juice now?”
“Of course not. The juice is complimentary,” Ting Wan smiled sweetly.
Oh no, just being stared at by her like this made Chi Jianyue feel dizzy, as if her whole body was filled with pink bubbles.
She instinctively thought that she had received a response last night and felt pleasantly surprised. Dazed, she asked, “What you said yesterday… about being a pet…”
Ting Wan countered, “Did you finish your breakfast and honey water?”
Chi Jianyue hesitated, feeling confused, but nodded.
“You’re a good girl,” Ting Wan’s smile grew even more intense, her voice soft as she slowly said, “Has Jianyue ever had a pet? There are many little cats and dogs in the world, but not all of them are pets. Those who wander outside are either hunters or prey, all with sharp claws and fangs.”
“Claws and fangs can protect oneself, but they can also harm others,” Ting Wan said, discussing this topic with Chi Jianyue for the first time, with her own personal understanding. Chi Jianyue couldn’t help but be drawn in by her words.
“That’s why I only like pets, obedient and well-behaved, completely defenseless, exposing their belly to their owner, a pet that belongs only to me.”
Ting Wan looked straight into her eyes. “So, what about Jianyue? Will Jianyue be a little cat or a little dog?”
Chi Jianyue blinked, finally understanding.
So, the pet she mentioned was truly just a simple pet.
