In Chi Jianyue’s world, it was difficult for her to discover, understand, and admit her feelings for someone. Even during her two-year relationship with Yang Yunsong, she had never said the words “I love you.” As she had mentioned before, they were together simply because it made sense, with no reason to break up. So when their true selves were revealed to each other, she was able to end the relationship decisively. The only thing that made her sad was Yang Yunsong’s final words, which made Chi Jianyue briefly question if her personality was truly considered bad in the eyes of others.

At that time, she hadn’t realized the subtle differences brought about by their social statuses. In reality, it was all due to the ridiculous pride of men. Nevertheless, she truly doubted herself and felt upset for a period of time.

Having grown up with the best resources and conditions, she naturally believed that she should be perfect and be loved by others. In a way, Chi Jianyue was a very narcissistic person.

But when it came to Ting Wan, a Mama-san whom she had only recently met, Chi Jianyue confidently and openly expressed her feelings. She had expected her friend to at least show some shock, but clearly she was mistaken.

“I thought it was something big. If you like her, then go for it. Although I did tell you that this woman is not ordinary, if you’ve finally realized your feelings and truly like her, then give it a try,” Zhuang Xiao, in contrast to Chi Jianyue, always approached life with a carefree attitude, believing that it was better to enjoy the present rather than hesitate.

Chi Jianyue didn’t quite agree with Zhuang Xiao’s casual attitude towards relationships, but that wasn’t the main point right now. The main point was…

“I like her, but she may not like me back.”

Zhuang Xiao, with a look of astonishment on her face, finally spoke up, “Ojou-sama, you could easily buy her for a night with money. Do you really expect her to like you?”

As soon as she said that, Chi Jianyue felt a pang of discomfort. This discomfort stemmed from her clear understanding that Ting Wan had only treated her as a guest last night.

“When I say I like her, it’s not just about wanting to play around,” Chi Jianyue replied earnestly.

Zhuang Xiao wanted to offer some advice, but seeing the determination in Chi Jianyue’s eyes and the disappearance of her previous confusion, she knew it was impossible to persuade her. She muttered with a tinge of bitterness, “I hope she doesn’t leave you completely broken…”

…

Under the night sky, Bahe Road, which was calm during the day, was now enveloped in a lively atmosphere. Since putting up the signboard for receiving female clients, “kilig” had attracted many new female customers. These young women, who had originally planned to visit “Garden” but changed their plans due to its full capacity, seemed to be keys that opened the doors to a new world that Lán Líng had never imagined.

The guests’ drink orders were directly tied to the staff’s commission, so Lán Líng had been more enthusiastic in her greetings at the entrance these past few days.

“Welcome to ‘kilig’—” Accompanied by the sound of the wind chimes at the entrance, Lán Líng bowed and, after seeing who it was, called out to the staff inside, “Ting Wan Mama, Miss Chi is here.”

Ting Wan was serving a group of female college students who were traveling together. They were curious about her job and bombarded her with questions. She patiently explained, but upon hearing Lán Líng’s words, she apologized and excused herself.

Ojou-sama stood at the entrance, looking radiant and beautiful. She didn’t move, just waiting until Ting Wan approached.

“It hasn’t been that long since we last saw each other, and Jianyue already misses me?” Ting Wan teased, deliberately speaking in an intimate and flirtatious tone.

As Ting Wan watched Chi Jianyue avert her gaze, she couldn’t decipher her own feelings in that moment.
