Just a few days later, Ojou-sama returned to “kilig,” much to Ting Wan’s surprise. She thought that the previous encounter would scare her away for good.
“Don’t you have class tomorrow?” Ting Wan naturally took a seat next to Chi Jianyue with a glass of wine, as if it was her duty to entertain her.
“No class in the morning,” Chi Jianyue replied without looking up from her phone. Zhuang Xiao found out that Chi Jianyue had gone to “kilig” and frantically messaged her, urging her not to be impulsive. It would be so rude if the place was indeed a legitimate business.
Chi Jianyue: It is indeed a legitimate business. Isn’t it good to abide by the law?
Zhuang Xiao:… Ojou-sama, please wait a moment. Let me inquire with someone and I’ll let you know.
Putting her phone down, Chi Jianyue turned her head. Ting Wan gazed at her with a meaningful look, her lips curved into a gentle smile, showing no signs of dissatisfaction with being ignored.
“Chatting with your boyfriend?” Ting Wan offered her the glass, and Chi Jianyue accepted it. “Just a regular friend,” she replied.
Ting Wan made an ambiguous sound in response.
There were noticeably fewer customers in the shop on weekdays compared to weekends. Chi Jianyue looked around at the hostesses who were intimately drinking with their clients and remembered the scene of Ting Wan being hugged before. She asked, “What time do you close?”
“We close at 2 o’clock in the morning at the latest, sometimes we close earlier,” Ting Wan smiled. “Why suddenly interested in the operating hours of ‘kilig’? Is Jianyue planning to stay out all night?”
Chi Jianyue’s gaze met hers directly. “What about after two o’clock?”
Ting Wan’s smile remained unchanged. “What about it?”
Chi Jianyue didn’t have the patience to continue beating around the bush. Her purpose for coming to “kilig” tonight was not for drinking. She straightforwardly said, “I want to buy your time after two o’clock, Ting Wan Mama.”
After serving in the nightlife industry for so many years, Ting Wan couldn’t possibly misunderstand the meaning of that sentence. Similar words were something she had to hear from new customers almost every time. However, she didn’t expect to hear them from Chi Jianyue this time.
A message notification sound came from her phone, and Chi Jianyue saw Zhuang Xiao’s message pop up on the lock screen. Her expression stiffened for a moment.
Zhuang Xiao: I asked around, and “kilig” doesn’t engage in that kind of business… Luckily, I inquired beforehand for you, Ojou-sama. There are other ways to show interest in someone, no need to…
The rest of the message was hidden, but it no longer mattered. Ting Wan smiled at Chi Jianyue and replied, “Alright.”
…
“Ting Wan Mama, Miss Chi ordered a few more bottles of wine before leaving just now, this…” Lán Líng marveled at the extravagance of wealthy people.
Ting Wan, on the other hand, remained calm. “Just keep them for now. I have something to attend to, so I’m leaving early today. We’ll settle the bill tomorrow. Please take care of the shop.”
Lán Líng was surprised by her response. After all, Ting Wan was always the model employee, always the first to arrive and the last to leave. Leaving early had never happened before, so it must be something important. “No problem, Ting Wan Mama. Don’t worry.”
It was only midnight when Ting Wan stepped out of the doors of “kilig.” It was the first time she walked on Bahe Road at this hour, observing the bustling crowd passing by, a stark contrast to the quiet emptiness she was used to when leaving work.
She walked all the way to the intersection, where a white sports car with a parking ticket on it had been waiting for a while.
As Ting Wan approached, the car window rolled down, revealing Chi Jianyue’s exquisite face. Ojou-sama glanced at her and then quickly averted her gaze, trying to mask her unnatural expression with a forced sense of normalcy.
“Get in the car.”
