Perhaps it was because the disapproval in Ji Xu’an’s eyes was too obvious, Jiang Jiang understood that even if they really got married, they would only be a couple in name, and what’s more, Ji Xu’an didn’t want to marry her at all right now.

But it didn’t matter, as long as Ji Xu’an still admitted what she had said that day, Jiang Jiang would have a legitimate reason to care about her and, in turn, change Ji Xu’an’s attitude towards her.

Before, it was always Ji Xu’an who used her own words to block Jiang Jiang, but this was the first time she had been rendered speechless by Jiang Jiang.

The words about marrying her were said by herself, and Ji Xu’an couldn’t slap herself in the face. She also couldn’t use this to demand that Jiang Jiang not care about her, so she could only comfort herself in her heart.

It didn’t matter, no matter how much Xie Xiao tried to please her, she couldn’t be shaken.

Xie Xiao would eventually understand that everything she did was in vain.

Ji Xu’an waved her chin at Jiang Jiang indifferently, “Do whatever you want.”

After saying that, she turned and walked towards her room. Her straight and slender figure quickly disappeared from Jiang Jiang’s sight, leaving only a faint fruity fragrance that slowly dissipated in the air.

Jiang Jiang waited for Ji Xu’an to leave before calmly closing the door. She looked calm and composed on the surface, but turned around and completely exposed herself.

She had actually convinced Ji Xu’an.

Jiang Jiang clenched her hand into a fist and placed it on her heart, feeling her heart beating so fast, and even her legs were trembling, as if she was about to lose her balance.

Jiang Jiang remembered that Xie Xiao was still watching, so she quickly supported herself and found the white jade exquisite mirror from behind the desk, and then collapsed into the sofa as if all her strength had been drained.

“Xiao Xiao, I really did it!”

Jiang Jiang tried hard to maintain her composure, but the arc of her lips and the dimples on her cheeks still betrayed the little pride in her heart.

Xie Xiao covered her forehead, “You just have too much of a filter on her. She and Princess Huaining aren’t the same person. What are you afraid of her doing?”

Could Ji Xu’an really kill Jiang Jiang?

Xie Xiao admitted that Ji Xu’an’s aura was indeed difficult to resist, but it wasn’t enough to scare Jiang Jiang like this.

Jiang Jiang defended herself in a small voice, “You don’t understand.”

Even if Xie Xiao told her that this was a world where everyone was equal, the concept of hierarchy from the past had long been engraved in Jiang Jiang’s bones. Ji Xu’an also looked exactly like Princess Huaining, so it was difficult for Jiang Jiang to see herself and Ji Xu’an as people of the same social class.

That’s why Jiang Jiang was so excited after boldly refuting Ji Xu’an tonight. After all, she had never dared to think that she would have a day when she could make Princess Huaining speechless.

But Xiao Xiao was right, Ji Xu’an wasn’t really that scary.

Remembering the other party’s silent appearance, Jiang Jiang couldn’t help but laugh.

“OK, let’s just say I don’t understand.” Xie Xiao changed the subject, “I feel like you played this move very well today. Ji Xu’an has obviously loosened up a lot.”

Sure enough, no one in this world could refuse a well-behaved little beauty who was attentive to them.

If there was, it must be that the little beauty wasn’t licking thoroughly enough.

Jiang Jiang’s eyebrows curved, and small dimples appeared on her cheeks, “Fortunately, I didn’t mess it up.”

Although Ji Xu’an still warned her not to do any tricks on her, Jiang Jiang could see that Ji Xu’an wasn’t really angry.

If she really didn’t like it, she wouldn’t have drunk that bowl of sobering soup – Jiang Jiang smelled the scent of sobering soup on Ji Xu’an.

This meant that she could be bolder.

“Then are you going to make her breakfast tomorrow?” Xie Xiao asked.

Jiang Jiang shook her head, “If you use the same trick twice in a row, it won’t be as effective.”

Xie Xiao thought so too, they couldn’t let Ji Xu’an form a habit, and really use Jiang Jiang as a nanny in the future.

After Jiang Jiang finally calmed down, she suddenly remembered that she hadn’t finished watching her “learning materials” yet, so she quickly sat up straight, staring intently at the TV screen, and continued watching with relish.

The corner of Xie Xiao’s mouth twitched. Seeing Jiang Jiang watching so enthusiastically, she couldn’t say anything.

This idea was still her own, although when she made this suggestion, Xie Xiao didn’t expect that Jiang Jiang would choose this drama among the many campus idol dramas at a glance.

Forget it, I have nothing to do anyway, so I should just accompany Jiang Jiang to watch for a while!

…

The consequence of staying up late to watch dramas was that although Jiang Jiang sat at the dining table before Ji Xu’an came downstairs the next morning, the dark circles under her eyes couldn’t be concealed, scaring housekeeper Chen.

“Xiaoxiao, didn’t you sleep well last night?”

Jiang Jiang resisted the urge to yawn, holding her breath until her eyes were red, with tears in her eyes, about to fall but not falling.

Housekeeper Chen thought she had been wronged. After thinking about it, the only person in the family who could make Jiang Jiang feel wronged was Ji Xu’an.

He asked Jiang Jiang, “Did the eldest miss bully you again?”

Ji Xu’an’s face wasn’t very good when she drank the sobering soup last night, and she might have scolded Jiang Jiang after going upstairs.

Housekeeper Chen’s voice wasn’t loud, but Ji Xu’an happened to walk to the stairwell at this time and heard this sentence clearly.

Her footsteps paused slightly. What, in the eyes of others, was I an unreasonable bad person who only knew how to bully the weak?

Housekeeper Chen didn’t expect that his words would be heard by Ji Xu’an. He was a little embarrassed, but he didn’t show it on his face.

“Eldest miss is awake, breakfast is ready.”

Ji Xu’an hummed, and when she walked in front of Jiang Jiang, she understood why housekeeper Chen would ask that.

Jiang Jiang didn’t have time to explain just now. Now, in front of Ji Xu’an, she was too embarrassed to say anything, so she just raised her eyes to look at Ji Xu’an and quickly withdrew her gaze, her voice soft, “She didn’t bully me.”

She thought Ji Xu’an would say something, but she didn’t hear the other party’s voice for a long time. Jiang Jiang had no choice but to raise her head to look at Ji Xu’an again, but unexpectedly met Ji Xu’an’s scrutinizing gaze.

The other party’s expression was a little strange, and Jiang Jiang couldn’t understand what it meant. The hands she placed on her legs were almost twisted into knots.

Why wasn’t she speaking?

She kept looking at me, could it be that my makeup and clothes today weren’t decent enough?

Ji Xu’an looked enough, and then slowly withdrew her gaze, picked up the honey water in front of her and took a sip, and asked, “Did you steal a cow last night?”

“Ah?” Jiang Jiang was stunned for a moment, and then her cheeks suddenly turned red, almost unable to lift her head from being teased by Ji Xu’an.

It was the first time she had come into contact with such wonderful things, which were much more interesting than the dramas she had watched before. If it wasn’t for the fact that she had to come downstairs for breakfast when it was dawn, she might still be sitting in front of the TV watching dramas.

Jiang Jiang felt very guilty about secretly staying up late, feeling like she had been caught doing something bad, and her palms were almost sweating with nervousness.

She moved her lips, “I, I had a nightmare last night.”

Lying in front of Ji Xu’an, Jiang Jiang endured great pressure, because Ji Xu’an’s eyes were too deep and dark, as if she could see through all her lies at a glance.

Putting down the glass in her hand, Ji Xu’an smiled noncommittally, “Oh, is that so?”

Before Jiang Jiang could breathe a sigh of relief, she continued, “I thought you were staying up all night watching dramas.”

“I didn’t,” Jiang Jiang stubbornly refused to admit, but didn’t dare to look Ji Xu’an in the eye.

Ji Xu’an chuckled and didn’t continue to make things difficult for her.

Ji Xu’an thought to herself that Jiang Jiang was just a little kid who had just turned eighteen. Even if she had some of her own little thoughts, they were so shallow that they could be seen through at a glance.

This absurd marriage should have been the idea of Xie Xiao’s deceased grandmother, right?

Of course, this didn’t mean that Xie Xiao was innocent.

However, perhaps because she saw the childish side of Xie Xiao, and thought that she was just a girl the same age as Xiaoyuan, Ji Xu’an didn’t seem to dislike Xie Xiao as much in her heart.

If the previous dislike was a hundred points, now… well, let’s barely reduce it to eighty.

After eating breakfast, Ji Xu’an was going to work at the company, while Jiang Jiang planned to go back to the bedroom to catch up on sleep.

Housekeeper Chen winked at Jiang Jiang. Jiang Jiang hesitated for a moment and followed Ji Xu’an, preparing to see her off at the door.

Ji Xu’an didn’t say anything. She didn’t turn around to look at Jiang Jiang until she reached the car door, as if she was sending away a little follower, “Alright, go back.”

Jiang Jiang remembered the TV series she watched last night, where people had to hug before parting.

However, her relationship with Ji Xu’an hadn’t reached the point where they could give a farewell hug, and Jiang Jiang couldn’t bring herself to be intimate with someone in front of a lot of people.

Ji Xu’an probably wouldn’t want to hug her either.

Jiang Jiang’s eyelashes were half-lowered, only staring at the pattern on Ji Xu’ans cuffs. Because of shyness, her cheeks were tinged with a faint blush.

“Will you…come back tonight?”

The soft and gentle voice floated into Ji Xu’an’s ears, and even her heart seemed to be bumped lightly by something.

Actually, when Xie Xiao wasn’t being a troublemaker, she is quite well behaved.

Ji Xu’an pursed her lips slightly, “Why?”

Her tone was very light. In Jiang Jiang’s ears, this meant that Ji Xu’an’s patience had run out.

“Um…there are some things I want to discuss with you.” Jiang Jiang didn’t say what it was, only stealing glances at Ji Xu’an with those still wet eyes.

Ji Xu’an was silent for a moment, “Okay.”

Jiang Jiang seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, and the excitement that was still uncontrollably overflowing in her moist almond eyes after trying to restrain it, “Then I’ll wait for you to come back!”

Ji Xu’an took a deep look at her, then turned around and got into the car, raising the car window.

Jiang Jiang watched the car drive away, and only after she couldn’t see it at all did she return to her room under housekeeper Chen’s admiring gaze.

The outstretched palm clearly had several curved fingernail marks. Jiang Jiang leaned her back against the door and took a deep breath.

She was really nervous just now, afraid of being exposed by Ji Xu’an in public, but fortunately, in the end, Ji Xu’an didn’t embarrass her as Jiang Jiang had hoped.

Whether it was because the other party didn’t see through her plan at all, or simply didn’t want to waste her breath with her.

Jiang Jiang couldn’t help but raise her hand to stroke the dark circles under her eyes. She deliberately didn’t cover up these traces, just wanting Ji Xu’an to see them.

Now, Ji Xu’an should be able to remember that I was just a naive little girl who was still in school, right?

She would neglect her body because she was addicted to playing, and Ji Xu’an really didn’t need to be wary of her.

Hopefully, after this, Ji Xu’an’s defense against her could be reduced a little.

Jiang Jiang cheered herself up in her heart. It didn’t matter, she would continue to work hard, and one day she would be able to make Ji Xu’an completely believe that she was just a weak and vulnerable orphan who could only survive with Ji Xu’an’s protection.

After all, pretending to be well-behaved and weak was Jiang Jiang’s forte.
