Chapter 54 – The School Beauty Fight

Duan Yi felt as if he had been thrown into a giant steamer.

Everything around him was hazy and damp, the condensed mist clinging to his skin and seeming to melt into rivulets.

He began tugging at his clothes. He was only wearing a white short-sleeved shirt and loose casual pants. But his curled-up position made it difficult to remove the shirt. Sheng Yunze could only see him pulling at the collar, his hands clasped together, the silver bracelet on his left wrist catching the light.

Sheng Yunze’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He pressed Duan Yi’s hands down.

“Stop pulling.”

Tears blurred Duan Yi’s vision, his face flushed crimson. Soaked to the bone, he barely made out Sheng Yunze’s face. “Did you mark me?”

He instinctively reached for the back of his neck, confused as to why his heat symptoms hadn’t subsided despite the temporary mark.

Sheng Yunze’s eyes darkened. “I did.”

Duan Yi’s gaze drifted aimlessly. The omega’s pheromones gradually permeated the closed hotel room. The once-delicate milky sweetness intensified, weaving into a thick, fragrant fog.

“It doesn’t seem to be working…” Duan Yi’s teeth chattered, biting his tongue. The sharp pain momentarily cleared his head. “I want water… Is there any?”

For a long moment, Sheng Yunze’s mind went blank.

The Alpha’s possessiveness over his Omega was overwhelming. He was exerting most of his willpower to restrain himself from harming Duan Yi, which had slowed his movements considerably.

What should I do?

Was this level of heat a medical emergency requiring a call to 120, or a matter for the Omega Rights Protection Association?

Whether he took Duan Yi to the hospital or a quarantine facility, Sheng Yunze knew the best solution wasn’t one he could provide.

Two paths lay before him.

Either follow the glorious road of socialist progress,

Or tread the path of tears behind iron bars, the antithesis of that socialist ideal.

In the silent room, Sheng Yunze could hear his own heart pounding faster and faster.

Maybe… I should just mark Duan Yi.

The audacious, reckless thought surfaced in his mind.

He’s already mine. Why shouldn’t I mark him?

But marking a minor Omega was a grave matter.

Second High School’s regulations explicitly forbade permanent marking, precisely to protect underage Omegas from being exploited by unscrupulous individuals during their formative years, leading to irreversible consequences.

Once permanently marked, an Omega could only have one Alpha for life. While modern technology allowed for medical removal of the mark, the pain of cleansing it was a hundred times worse than childbirth and required no anesthesia. Each removal left permanent damage to the body.

Over ninety percent of Omegas will never have the chance to be marked again, effectively suppressing their reproductive instincts.

In short, inducing a heat in an underage Omega is a serious offense. If discovered and made public, there would be no leniency—only severe punishment.

Duan Yi’s current heat wasn’t yet at the point where he desperately needed to be marked in his reproductive cavity.

This was because he had already been permanently marked by Sheng Yunze.

However, Sheng Yunze couldn’t stay by Duan Yi’s side. His pheromones would only intensify Duan Yi’s heat.

Sheng Yunze rummaged through the minibar and found an unopened bottle of mineral water.

His hands trembled as he opened the cabinet, and he fumbled the bottle, sending it rolling onto the floor.

Duan Yi lay curled up on the bed. Sheng Yunze sat beside him, twisted open the bottle, and helped him sit up to take a few sips.

Omegas often become dehydrated during heat. Duan Yi gulped down the water too quickly, choking on it. He coughed violently in Sheng Yunze’s arms, his chest heaving.

“Easy, drink slowly,” Sheng Yunze murmured, his voice low and soothing. It almost sounded like he was coaxing a child.

If Duan Yi had been clear-headed, he would have undoubtedly teased Sheng Yunze about it later.

Unfortunately, Duan Yi’s mind felt like it was stuck in molasses. Everything around him radiated scalding heat, except for Sheng Yunze, who remained cool and comforting. Even the slightest touch was unbearable.

During the third feeding, Sheng Yunze took a sip himself.

He held the water in his mouth, kissed Duan Yi, and passed it directly to him.

With Sheng Yunze’s pheromones, the water tasted sweet and refreshingly cool. Duan Yi eagerly finished it, licked Sheng Yunze’s lips, and leaned in for more.

He leaned forward, almost collapsing into Sheng Yunze’s arms, his hands resting on Sheng Yunze’s shoulders.

Sheng Yunze’s gaze was fixed on the silver bracelet on Duan Yi’s wrist, its shifting movements nearly blinding him.

It wasn’t just that the young man had never experienced such intimacy before.

Even if he had, he couldn’t resist the object of his affection throwing himself into his arms like this.

Reason told Sheng Yunze to push Duan Yi away, but his hands remained clamped on Duan Yi’s shoulders, neither pushing him away nor pulling him closer.

This was more difficult than any multiple-choice question Sheng Yunze had ever faced, so difficult that he stood frozen in place.

How did this happen?

Duan Yi’s rationality had been burned to ashes.

Panting, he squeezed out the last dregs of his mental capacity to consider how things had escalated.

When did things start going wrong?

From the moment Sheng Yunze began marking him.

What should have been a simple temporary marking to resolve the situation turned into a raging wildfire. Instead of being soothed by Sheng Yunze’s pheromones and smoothly navigating his heat, Duan Yi was directly ignited by them, his body erupting in flames.

This wasn’t right…

Duan Yi swallowed hard, his throat parched.

This wasn’t right.

Sheng Yunze noticed it at the same time. He quickly straightened Duan Yi’s shoulders. “Duan Yi, look at me. Can you hear what I’m saying?”

Duan Yi nodded weakly.

Sheng Yunze continued, “Your heat wasn’t just triggered early. Have you been exposed to any omega pheromone inducers these past few days?” He paused before adding, “Specifically, ones targeted at Alphas.”

Duan Yi blinked, confused. “I don’t know…”

After a long pause, he finally managed to speak. “The uniform… the uniform…”

Sheng Yunze’s eyes sharpened. “The uniform that girl gave you?”

Duan Yi nodded weakly. “I didn’t touch anything else…”

The same name flashed through both their minds: Scar.

This wasn’t the first time omega pheromone inducers had appeared at Second High School.

Within a year of their market release, the drugs had already infiltrated schools, where they were used to induce heat in underage Omegas. Three years prior, Second High School had been rocked by a major incident involving the inducer, an Omega had been forced into heat against their will, mated with an Alpha, and then jumped to their death from their own home.

The tragedy sent shockwaves through the entire Hang City university district. Every school launched massive internal investigations, living in fear.

Any student caught with omega pheromone inducers faced immediate expulsion. It was also during this time that crackdowns on early romances became particularly severe.

After all, omega pheromone inducers had initially been marketed as recreational drugs—illegal substances operating in the gray market.

As Sheng Yunze pondered this, Duan Yi’s brief moment of clarity ended. Driven by instinct, he kissed Sheng Yunze, straddling him and pressing their lips together. Even in this position, Duan Yi’s strength was failing.

Sheng Yunze held him close. “Don’t move.”

Something was swelling within him.

His rationality teetered on the brink. I’m his Alpha. It’s only natural that I possess him.

Sheng Yunze had too many reasons.

One excuse led to another, piling up until it felt like a grave sin not to act on Duan Yi.

The omega pheromone inducer triggered the rut in Alphas, while for Omegas, it acted as a potent aphrodisiac.

His lips and tongue felt parched, his throat dry. Each swallow felt like swallowing knives. Seizing the opportunity, he gripped Duan Yi’s waist.

Sheng Yunze’s pheromones began to leak out. Duan Yi wasn’t afraid of him, but the ice-cold grip on his waist made him flinch.

As if reassuring Duan Yi—or perhaps himself—he said, “Don’t move. I—”

His left hand, trembling slightly, lifted the hem of Duan Yi’s short sleeve.

His voice was strained, almost hoarse.

“I’m just looking.”

Before his second heat arrived, Duan Yi was alone in the hotel room, clutching his blanket and crying his heart out.

There was no real reason for it, and Duan Yi honestly didn’t want to cry. But when he woke up and didn’t see Sheng Yunze, his Omega instincts took over, forcing the tears to flow.

He felt ashamed even as he sobbed, but he couldn’t stop. The tears came like a dam had burst, unstoppable.

Just as he was mentally vowing to never be an Omega in his next life, Sheng Yunze returned.

Two shots of Inhibitor prevented the next heat.

The first time, Sheng Yunze had managed to cope. But if Duan Yi were to fall into an even deeper heat, he would be helpless.

Duan Yi let out a pained “Aow!” but his voice was hoarse, making it sound more like a whimpering puppy than a proper howl.

Sheng Yunze lowered his head to tidy up, avoiding Duan Yi’s gaze.

Duan Yi sat silently on the bed, legs crossed, equally afraid to look at Sheng Yunze.

After an agonizing silence, Duan Yi felt the awkwardness growing unbearable. He needed to say something, or he’d want to crawl into a hole and disappear.

After a long pause, he finally managed to stammer, “…My legs hurt.”

Sheng Yunze’s profile became even more of a profile!

What had been three-quarters visible was now only a quarter.

Duan Yi: =口=!

Then Duan Yi noticed the usually aloof Sheng Yunze’s earlobes were flushed crimson.

Duan Yi felt like he’d discovered a new continent. Holy shit, no wonder he’s only seventeen. His skin is so thin!

He remembered how, over a decade of marriage, his husband’s antics had grown increasingly elaborate and his shamelessness boundless. Trying to coax a shy expression from that sadistic face had become harder than climbing Mount Everest.

Ah, youth, Duan Yi thought, indulging in a bit of old-man nostalgia. So precious!

Before he could dwell on it, Sheng Yunze turned around. “I bought the ointment.”

Without a word, he grabbed Duan Yi’s calf, which was peeking out from under the blanket—his sweatpants had somehow slipped to the floor.

Now it was Duan Yi’s turn to blush. He was about to say he could apply it himself when Sheng Yunze firmly gripped his ankle and tugged him closer.

Duan Yi found himself pressed against Sheng Yunze. Without argument, Sheng Yunze bent Duan Yi’s right leg at the knee. “Let me see.”

Duan Yi’s face flushed crimson, as if a sudden thought had struck him.

The ointment felt cool against his skin. Duan Yi hissed, “Why are you pressing so hard?”

Sheng Yunze’s brow twitched, his pale face faintly reddening again. His mind flooded with inappropriate, explicit images, and he impulsively pinched Duan Yi’s fleshy thigh in frustrated embarrassment. “Shut up.”

The inner thigh was red, swollen, and itchy. Duan Yi’s hand strayed toward it, but Sheng Yunze slapped it away. “Don’t scratch. You’ll break the skin.”

“But it’s uncomfortable!” Duan Yi protested, trying to lighten the mood and ignore the faint undercurrent of tension in the room. “I didn’t ask you to scratch it for me. Can’t I do it myself?”

Sheng Yunze childishly retorted, “No. This is mine.”

Duan Yi: =口=!

Sheng Yunze declared with calm authority, “From now on, anything you want to do to yourself requires my permission.”

“Are you insane?!” Duan Yi snapped. “Don’t try to pass this off as some Alpha possessiveness. Spare me the act—I’ve been an Alpha myself, you know!”

“Then you’re better suited to be an Omega,” Sheng Yunze remarked, suddenly remembering something. “Excellent performance.”

Duan Yi immediately understood what he meant, his face flushing crimson. “Oh!” he retorted fiercely.

“I need to get dressed.” Duan Yi stripped off his short-sleeved shirt, pulled on a sweater, and then put on his school uniform jacket.

His two straight, slender legs landed on the floor, his feet—slightly smaller than the average man’s—stepping onto the carpet. The arches of his feet were high, and his ten rounded toes glowed pink, shimmering softly.

Duan Yi squatted down, lifting his pants with two fingers, and said with a hint of exasperation, “I don’t think these fit anymore. What do you think, Secretary Sheng?”

Sheng Yunze tossed him a new pair of pants he’d just bought downstairs. The garment smacked Duan Yi in the face. He yanked it off, seething, How can my husband be so different in and out of bed? How can he be like this? Is there no law to restrain him?

After getting dressed, Duan Yi went to the bathroom to wash his face and, after a moment’s thought, rinsed his mouth.

When he emerged, he looked perfectly presentable, with no trace of what had just transpired.

Apart from the faint, lingering pheromones in the air, the hotel room was spotless and meticulously organized—likely cleaned by Sheng Yunze himself.

An unfinished exam paper lay on the table, making it seem as if he’d booked the room just to study.

Duan Yi pulled out a chair and sat down, his thigh still aching. He had to spread his legs slightly for comfort.

“You took the whole day off?”

Sheng Yunze set down his pen and touched Duan Yi’s forehead. “Your fever’s gone.”

Duan Yi let him touch him. Sheng Yunze grew bolder, pinching Duan Yi’s cheeks twice more, as if he’d become addicted to the sensation. His fingers brushed against Duan Yi’s lips, finding them surprisingly soft.

Just now…

Duan Yi stared intently at him. Sheng Yunze clicked his tongue and lowered his head to kiss Duan Yi’s lips.

After a moment, Duan Yi pushed him away.

“Why do you keep kissing me?”

“I don’t know.” Sheng Yunze realized his answer was inadequate and quickly corrected himself. “You seduced me first.”

Duan Yi was speechless. “Have you ever heard the saying ‘The lecher sees lechery everywhere’? School beauty, do you have some hidden kissing maniac trait?”

“I don’t know,” Sheng Yunze said, already pulling Duan Yi, chair and all, closer to him. He loved to tug people around, and his strength was considerable; Duan Yi nearly fell off his chair from the force.

Sheng Yunze kissed him again, his pheromones boldly patrolling Duan Yi’s body, slipping into every crevice they could find. Duan Yi gasped for breath, pushing him away.

Sheng Yunze’s hand pressed against Duan Yi’s gland, now marked with several of his own teeth marks.

Duan Yi obediently leaned over the desk, eyeing Sheng Yunze’s test paper. “Are you going back for Evening Self-Study tonight?”

Sheng Yunze played with Duan Yi’s hair. “I don’t know.”

Duan Yi: “=口=, is that the only thing you’re going to say today?”

Sheng Yunze paused. The feeling was strange; he simply wanted to stare at Duan Yi, with no desire to do or think about anything else.

“I’m going back,” Sheng Yunze said. “I have something to take care of tonight. Did you bring your inhibitor?”

The pheromones surrounding them were now so thick they seemed to overflow.

They were so close, it was as if they had a giant poster on their foreheads proclaiming, “We’ve done it.”

Returning to school would be grounds for immediate expulsion.

“I brought it,” Duan Yi said, sitting down. “But it’s broken. Do you still want it?”

Evening self-study had just begun at Second High School. Jiang Wangshu had barely settled into his seat when he asked Duan Yi for correction fluid.

This stuff had been extinct since high school. Duan Yi had somehow managed to get his hands on some, but he didn’t use it for correcting homework—he used it to modify his drawings.

Jiang Wangshu took the correction fluid and looked at Duan Yi, finding him a little strange. “Did you go to the hospital today?”

“Why? Of course I went to the hospital. Where else would I go?” Duan Yi replied, sounding a bit guilty.

Jiang Wangshu drank his Mrs. Taitai Oral Solution. “Nothing, just that you seem different from usual. What kind of hospital works miracles like that? You went in pale-faced this morning and came back this afternoon looking triumphant. You don’t even look like a spirited young man anymore—you’re a spirited young married man now! Our women’s group welcomes you, Xiaoduan!”

Hao Shanshan chimed in with a question, “Did you go to the hospital or Heaven on Earth Foot Massage City? Tell me, Dad—I won’t tell New Mother.”

Duan Yi: …

“Get lost~ Did you finish your homework? Let me copy it,” Duan Yi said, his “Get lost~” dripping with sarcastic mimicry of Sheng Yunze’s signature tone.

“Aren’t you going to ask Secretary Sheng for his homework?” Jiang Wangshu asked, turning his head. “Evening Self-Study is about to start. Why isn’t Secretary Sheng back yet?”

“He took today off too,” Hao Shanshan said. “What’s he up to?”

“Something at home, maybe?” Jiang Wangshu shrugged. “He didn’t skip Evening Self-Study, so he should be back soon.”

The three of them turned to stare at the back door.

Duan Yi’s heart skipped a beat. He couldn’t shake the feeling that whatever Sheng Yunze was doing was more complicated than he let on.

They had returned to school together, only parting at the gate. Duan Yi headed to his classroom, while Sheng Yunze walked toward the second-year building.

Unlike the deathly quiet of the third-year building, the second-year building was brightly lit and bustling like a marketplace. With less pressure than the third-years, few students bothered to focus on their studies.

The first, second, and third-year students were housed in separate buildings. The first-year building stood near the front plaza, the second-year building nestled between the other two, directly facing the third-year building. Elevated walkways connected all three.

Before Evening Self-Study began, students had half an hour for dinner and cleaning. Student Council members, tasked with uniform checks, strolled in groups of two or three, starting with the leftmost classroom.

Sheng Yunze’s appearance in the second year of high school caused quite a stir.

The third-year building was practically isolated, rarely visited by anyone. With the third-year students focused on preparing for the National College Entrance Examination, they rarely left their classrooms or dorms, having little contact with the first and second-year students.

Almost simultaneously, the girls from six or seven classes leaned out of their windows. “Holy shit!” someone exclaimed, and a flurry of excited chatter erupted.

“That third-year School Grass?!”

“Damn! A living school beauty!”

“Wait, Sheng Yunze came to the second year? Holy shit, I’ve been here for two years and this is the first time I’ve seen him! Damn, he’s even better-looking than in the photos!”

“Where? Let me see! Where is he?”

“What’s Sheng Yunze doing here?”

“No idea. Maybe picking up his girlfriend?”

“He doesn’t have a girlfriend!”

“I heard he does! Isn’t it Jian Qiao?”

“I think he’s really handsome…”

Several junior girls from the Student Council, who were inspecting uniforms and hygiene, stole glances at him. Using their official duties as an excuse, they followed him all the way to Grade 2 Class 7.

The girls in Class 7 who had been leaning out the windows instantly sat up straight. Sheng Yunze stood at the front door, and the classroom fell into an unnatural silence.

More effective than the Headmaster himself.

Perhaps this was the power of a handsome man.

The delinquent students in the back, who had been playing cards, simultaneously stopped and stared at Sheng Yunze.

The Class President, seated at the front, spoke up, “Um, Senior, is there something you need?”

Sheng Yunze’s gaze swept across the back of the classroom until he found Scar, slumped asleep by the window.

With a long stride, he headed straight for the back door.

The girls in the class stood up one by one, moving to the side. A boy called out, “Hey, what class are you from—”

In the next instant, Sheng Yunze kicked Scar’s desk over with a loud crash.

The boy’s voice cut off abruptly. He stared in horror at the scene before him and clamped his mouth shut.

The classmates flinched. Sheng Yunze had never lost his temper before, always maintaining the aloof, otherworldly demeanor of the Little Dragon Girl. His sudden outburst instilled a primal fear in their hearts.

It was only now that they truly realized he was an overwhelmingly dominant Alpha.

Scar jolted awake, barely managing a curse before Sheng Yunze, his face grim, seized him by the collar and dragged him from the back door to the front.

Sheng Yunze overturned countless desks and chairs along the way, the crashing sounds echoing loudly. No matter how Scar struggled, Sheng Yunze’s grip on his hand remained unshakable.

The students in the classrooms and hallways who witnessed the scene erupted into a frenzy, their excitement boiling over like scalding water.

Sheng Yunze slammed Scar onto the hallway floor, where he rolled twice before managing to stand. Being thrown to the ground in front of the entire grade filled Scar with humiliation and rage, his body trembling uncontrollably.

“Sheng Yunze! I’ll fuck your ancestors!”

Scar lunged at Sheng Yunze, but Sheng Yunze swiftly kicked him in the chest—exactly where Duan Yi had struck him before.

Scar howled in pain, collapsing to the floor, unable to rise.

Sheng Yunze hauled Scar to his feet, his face cold as he demanded, “Where did you get the omega pheromone inducer?”

He gave Scar a few moments to tremble before speaking slowly, “You can take your time to think. Just make sure you give me the right answer.”
