Chapter 2 L.2: Delighted to Hear and See

Although having learned that his new handsome roommate was named Pang Zaiyuan, on that very night, Ning Wenru still decided to be very brave and continue writing.

Because he was about to finish writing, for his consistent quality of being a bad apple, for not disappointing the readers who have followed until now, Ning Wenru decided that even at the risk of his life, he had to give it a try.

The dormitory environment was good, with four beds, the upper bed and a cabinet and table below. In the middle of the dormitory, there were eight desks. If writing at the table below the bed, because the back was facing others, it was very easy for others to see what was being written. Before Pang Zaiyuan came, when there were only Ning Wenru and Yue Weijian in the dormitory, Ning Wenru usually wrote at the desk in the middle of the dormitory, so that his back was against the wall, and he could clearly see the environment.

However, now that Pang Zaiyuan had come to the dormitory, Ning Wenru still needed to write about him as the Strong Bottom’s benefits—

Although the sitting posture wasn’t very comfortable, for the sake of his life safety, Ning Wenru cleverly discovered a new writing method. He put a small table on the upper bed, moved his laptop up there as well, and sat cross-legged on the bed to write.

After moving his computer onto the bed, Ning Wenru discovered another benefit: he could write while secretly stealing glances to admire Pang Zaiyuan, who could make even a closet gay come out, lying on the opposite bed.

Whether it was appearance, physique, or experience, Pang Zaiyuan seemed just like Ning Wenru’s favorite Strong Bottom from his writing had come to life. Every time he typed Pang Zaiyuan’s name, it was as if the character who had been fantasized and pondered countless times in the novel appeared before him. Ning Wenru couldn’t help but glance back at him while continuing to type, becoming particularly engrossed in writing, his eyes emitting a focused and excited glow. When typing the bonus section, Ning Wenru also wore a shy expression.

At first, Pang Zaiyuan was very sensitive to gazes, almost always meeting Ning Wenru’s eyes and asking if something was wrong, leaving Ning Wenru awkwardly stammering each time, extremely embarrassed. After it happened several times like this, Ning Wenru saw the corners of Pang Zaiyuan’s mouth curve up in a mysterious smile, as though his gaze no longer bothered him and he would no longer look back at Ning Wenru in confusion.

Thus, Ning Wenru boldly began to appreciate Pang Zaiyuan’s perfect facial features and body while blind-typing his words.

When Pang Zaiyuan’s eyes were covered, Chen Ruisheng clicked a clothespin onto his ear, emitting a crisp “snap”. Pang Zaiyuan seemed to recall the feeling from that day, biting his teeth together. Chen Ruisheng let out a soft laugh, his hand resting on Pang Zaiyuan’s shoulder, and whispered into his ear, “Don’t act so uncomfortable; weren’t you the one who wanted it? Be good and relax.”

Next, Ning Wenru wrote down the true feeling of poking his roommate’s arm today, then secretly took a peek at Pang Zaiyuan across the bed, carefully observed the lines of his arm, and thought about how to describe it. Pang Zaiyuan was clearly organizing the shoes under his bed at this moment, but it seemed like he had eyes on the back of his head. Seeming unable to bear it any longer, he suddenly turned around and looked at Ning Wenru, meeting his gaze head-on.

Are all people who have served in the military so sensitive to their gaze?

Ning Wenru guiltily diverted his gaze, and his typing speed also slowed down.

Pang Zaiyuan asked him: “Why are you always looking at me?”

Ning Wenru’s hand trembled, but even though he was now on the bed, he still cautiously and habitually saved and closed the document before giving a bashful smile and saying: “Nothing… just felt very embarrassed. Under your bed are all Yue Weijian’s sneakers, hope they haven’t bothered you.”

“It doesn’t matter,” Pang Zaiyuan said, his expression cold. He swept out all the shoes under his bed, then knocked on the desk in the center of the dormitory. Several cockroaches crawled out from the desk’s drawers and flew under Ning Wenru’s bed.

Ning Wenru was speechless.

Although it wasn’t his drawer, this was also his dormitory. Having discovered cockroaches by Pang Zaiyuan, Ning Wenru felt even more ashamed.

Pang Zaiyuan’s complexion was clearly not good either. His expression grew even colder as he asked, “Come down and open the lock. How long has it been since cleaning?”

Ning Wenru guiltily replied, “This is Yue Weijian’s drawer. I don’t have the key.”

“Who’s talking about me?” Yue Weijian’s voice came from the door opening. He cheerfully opened the dormitory door, saying, “Oh! Freshman! Looking quite handsome, huh? Which department are you from? What’s your name?”

Pang Zaiyuan didn’t answer his question at all, but asked, “So you’re Yue Weijian?”

Yue Weijian nodded, looking puzzled, then smiled. “Even freshmen know me, I didn’t realize I was so famous, ha ha! But next time, you can’t call my name directly, you have to call me ‘Senior Brother Yue’, okay?”

Pang Zaiyuan coldly spoke, “It’s good that you’re back. Come here, see, the drawer, cockroaches. Over here, look under my bed, dusty shoes and your smelly socks, all webbed over. Now the dormitory needs a thorough cleaning. You, clear away the clutter on the floor.”

Yue Weijian saw his pile of web-covered sneakers, with socks that had been left for half a summer and smelled terrible placed on top, and scratched his head somewhat embarrassed. He said, “Ah, no hurry, they’ve already been left for so long anyway. I’m going on a date with my girlfriend later today, so let’s clean up tomorrow.”

“If you don’t clean it up now,” Pang Zaiyuan said, hands crossed, directly threatening, “I will throw you and your stuff out right away.”

Yue Weijian stared speechlessly, pointing at Pang Zaiyuan and saying, “What kind of obnoxious freshman are you? Who dares to throw a senior out?”

Pang Zaiyuan’s expression was icy, he said, “Don’t point your finger at me.”

With this casual remark, Pang Zaiyuan, at one hundred and eighty centimeters tall and with his fearsome presence, utterly overwhelmed Yue Weijian. Despite being a student-athlete, Yue Weijian was unable to match his imposing demeanor. Unwilling to look Pang Zaiyuan in the eye, he retracted his finger and turned to Ning Wenru, saying, “Wenru! Come, judge fairly. Don’t freshmen usually clean up in the dormitory? Know your place.”

Seeing them about to come to blows, Ning Wenru said, “Xiao Yue, cater a little to the bachelor fellows. Skip one date night, and let’s do a thorough cleaning today. Otherwise, when your girlfriend comes to the dormitory, you’ll open a drawer to show her treasures, revealing the crumpled cake you’ve hidden away for years. Then, ah, cockroaches!”

After hearing this, Pang Zaiyuan’s lips curved upwards, his face carrying a smile, before he immediately became serious again.

Yue Weijian also corrected himself: “It’s not that I’m not clean, but this fresh entrant is way too arrogant isn’t he?”

Pang Zaiyuan said coldly: “Your personal hygiene is too poor, affecting your classmates, I have the right to apply to not allow you to stay in the dormitory.”

Yue Weijian was about to speak when Ning Wenru rushed to say: “This senior brother is indeed too arrogant I’ll help you teach him a lesson, wait a moment.” Then, Ning Wenru got off the bed, hooked his left hand around Yue Weijian’s neck, and pulled him out.

Ning Wenru whispered softly into Yue Weijian’s ear: “He’s not a fresh entrant! He’s been a soldier for two years, two years older than you and me. He was personally taken over by the dormitory counselor teacher, the teacher even instructed me to take good care of him, in short, I’m the one who should protect him.”

Yue Weijian said with a sorrowful look at Ning Wenru: “… You claim to inherit his powerful capabilities? Just because he’s been a soldier he can be this arrogant? Don’t you think he was about to give someone a beating, why didn’t you help me?”

Ning Wenru said under his breath: “Are you sure you could’ve beaten him? I’m helping you too.”

“Tch,” Yue Weijian turned away from Ning Wenru, refusal to look, his entire face displaying discontentment: “Even if I couldn’t beat him, what could he possibly do? It doesn’t matter now, since he wants to stay in this dormitory, I can mess with him anytime.”

Ning Wenru drew back his hand and struck Yue Weijian’s head, saying: “Talk reasonably, the drawer is full of cockroaches, how can you still have the face? Hurry up and deal with it, if the cockroaches eat my notes—” Ning Wenru imitated Pang Zaiyuan’s posture just now, arms crossed, head tilted back, threateningly said: “From now on I won’t help you review for exams.”

“Holy shit!” Yue Weijian’s face changed, he cried out startled: “So cruel! You won, I’ll do it right away!”

Yue Weijian had obviously received severe threats. He wiped his face and walked back to the dormitory, apologized to Pang Zaiyuan saying: “It’s my fault for being untidy, I’ll start doing it right now.”

Ning Wenru followed in, took a broom and helped, saying while doing so: “There are still two years left in university. We’re all roommates, everyone should work together amicably and be good roommates, we’ll also be friends in the future.”

Yue Weijian’s face showed discontent, with an expression of who wants to be friends with him, but he still squatted down and cleared out all the wading shoes under the bed that had webbed up. Pang Zaiyuan paid him no heed, instead he raised a few tables, then climbed up in a few steps to the top, and disassembled the dusty fan from the ceiling.

Under Pang Zaiyuan’s command, Yue Weijian, threatened by Ning Wenru, sullenly rejected a date and cleaned all the hidden corners of the dormitory, including the ceiling, fans, windows and doors, bed bottoms, and tables and cabinets, once. In the evening, when he finally slept, Ning Wenru lay on the bed, satisfied as he looked at the three-person cleaning results, smelled the long-missing fresh air, hugged his quilt tightly, and rolled on the bed once.

Guys who can clean are so sexy!

Just now, Pang Zaiyuan’s forceful and efficient cleaning was incredibly cool!

When they first met, Ning Wenru did appreciate Pang Zaiyuan’s appearance and physique, but it only remained at appreciation, thinking that looking more often could be pleasing to the eye.

And roommate Yue Weijian’s appearance and physique were also good. When they first met, Ning Wenru also appreciated him quite a bit. Just looking at appearance and physique, he was also the type Ning Wenru liked to write about in stories as a strong bottom. Yue Weijian was a sports student, handsome and tall with a great build, also a campus heartthrob. But Ning Wenru just didn’t feel anything towards him because Yue Weijian was too messy. Returning from playing sports covered in sweat, smelly socks and underwear not washed for a month, all of these greatly deducted from his attractiveness.

Because, compared to Yue Weijian, Ning Wenru felt he liked clean and cute girls more.

But Pang Zaiyuan was different.

Indeed, those who have been soldiers have excellent hygiene habits. I heard that the barracks are so clean that there won’t even be any cockroaches or mice. If we could live together in the future, it would surely be very comfortable, and there would be no need for him to tidy up the house much.

Ah, but still, don’t think too much. Since writing words, Ning Wenru has found that his imagination always expands more and more. We’ve only met a few times, yet he’s already fantasized about a lifetime. Holding the quilt, Ning Wenru rolled around some more, then faced the opposite bed and took out his phone to provide some cover, stealing a few glances and jotting down a few fleeting inspirations before falling asleep.

The next morning, at 6 a.m. Ning Wenru heard Pang Zaiyuan getting up and washing, and he opened his sleepy eyes blurily. Once he clearly saw the scenery before him, Ning Wenru couldn’t fall asleep anymore.

Because Pang Zaiyuan directly took off his nightgown in front of Ning Wenru, and put on a vest athletic suit, showing not even the slightest bit of hesitation about exposing his seductive and appetizing figure to his roommate. Those sturdy pectoral muscles, those eight solid abdominal muscles, and those two lines extending downward like mermaid tails, all gave Ning Wenru a great feast for the eyes, and he was greatly amazed.

But Pang Zaiyuan seemed to have a keen sense of others’ gazes. With just a lift of his eyes, he met Ning Wenru’s gaze. Ning Wenru’s writing inspiration came again, and he felt somewhat guilty. Facing that clear-eyed look, he could only say the daily greeting: “Good morning.”

“Good morning,” Pang Zaiyuan politely replied, turned around to pack up, and said: “Did I disturb you? I’m going for morning exercise, you can continue sleeping.”

Ning Wenru nodded, buried his face in the quilt, and rolled to the wall while hugging the quilt.

Only when hearing the sound of Pang Zaiyuan closing the door and leaving did Ning Wenru stick his head out from the quilt. With eyes filled with excited light, he got off the bed and opened the computer. His hands moved swiftly over the keyboard, making papapap sounds.

Taking advantage of this great opportunity, he had to write words!

Pang Zaiyuan went for morning exercise, while Yue Weijian was still snoring loudly. Ning Wenru seized the opportunity, taking this time to swiftly write words, putting the inspiration brought about by observing Pang Zaiyuan changing clothes into his writing.

Yesterday’s intensity had not caused any impact on Pang Zaiyuan; on the contrary, Chen Ruisheng could see that Pang Zaiyuan seemed even more refreshed. He watched Pang Zaiyuan stretch lazily, the lines of muscles on his body stretching accordingly, his chest muscles spreading open into a smooth diamond shape. When Pang Zaiyuan turned back and noticed Chen Ruisheng’s gaze, he raised his eyebrows, moved his left chest muscle, causing a small pink spot to jump along. Even the red marks covering his abs seemed to be beckoning to Chen Ruisheng with a finger wave.

Chen Ruisheng let out a low, hoarse sound: “Heh, Senior, are you trying to seduce me? Wasn’t last night enough?”

Pang Zaiyuan turned and got down on one knee, his knees pressing against the young Chen Ruisheng, and laughed disdainfully. “What, you can’t last a whole night?”

*…】

Ning Wenru was typing up these contents while still feeling a bit shy. He would occasionally lift his head to glance at Yue Weijian, confirming that Yue Weijian was deeply asleep, unaffected by the sound of his typing. Clamping his legs together, he continued to type with determination.

Perhaps after seeing Pang Zaiyuan in person, the blurry images in his mind had turned into a realistic reality, making Ning Wenru’s imagination even more vivid. The morning erection had yet to subside; as Ning Wenru typed up these contents, for the first time, he experienced the feeling of typing while “hard”.

This excited state lasted for a full half hour. Ning Wenru had just finished typing this section and was about to go to the bathroom to properly “recede” when, at that moment, Pang Zaiyuan unexpectedly returned so early.

Morning light filtered in through the leaves outside the dormitory. Pang Zaiyuan’s body, having just exercised, was covered in gleaming sweat. The neckline of his dark blue basketball vest was soaked with sweat, clinging closely to the porcelain-smooth skin below Pang Zaiyuan’s collarbone. Pang Zaiyuan strode towards Ning Wenru, his movements swift, his young and fiery body rapidly approaching Ning Wenru, momentarily causing Ning Wenru to forget to close the document.

When Pang Zaiyuan placed a bag of buns on the table, next to Ning Wenru’s hand, Ning Wenru only then realized he had been holding something. Immediately afterwards, Ning Wenru suddenly woke up, his whole body shivering with a startle, and his hand trembled as he quickly closed the document he had just been secretly typing.

“Your breakfast,” Pang Zaiyuan said concisely.

Ning Wenru confirmed that Pang Zaiyuan’s expression was completely normal, and that his gaze was fixed straight ahead without deviation, before slowly exhaling a breath. He asked, “Why did you bring me breakfast?”

He opened the bag again, and saw that there were seven or eight buns inside. Each bun was different; it seemed that Pang Zaiyuan didn’t know what Ning Wenru wanted to eat, so he bought one of each kind. Ning Wenru lifted his head to say thank you, “Thank you, so many, how much?”

The corners of Pang Zaiyuan’s lips curved up in a smile. This hint of a smile brought a warm vivacity to Pang Zaiyuan’s originally cold features, like a snow lotus blooming atop an iceberg. Ning Wenru’s heart thumped loudly, and he heard Pang Zaiyuan say in a deep, attractive voice, “I heard you want to protect me.”

Pang Zaiyuan’s deep voice slowly spoke out, sensuality reaching its peak. Ning Wenru touched his chest, nodded reflexively, and after a moment of relaxation, joked, “Then tomorrow I want to eat taro congee with lotus bun.”

“Okay, then, I want to borrow your notes to review. You eat breakfast first, and give them to me later,” Pang Zaiyuan said, took off his undershirt, entered the bathroom, twisted the towel, and wiped himself.

“Okay.” Ning Wenru glanced furtively while stuffing his mouth with buns.

Just having become infatuated with men, if Pang Zaiyuan had looked at his computer screen, he would definitely have seen his name! Pang Zaiyuan kindly brought him breakfast, yet he continued writing this stuff, even getting more into it…

In addition to feeling uneasy, he suddenly felt very guilty.

Ning Wenru had considered replacing “Pang Zaiyuan” with another name in his danmei novel. However, what Ning Wenru wrote was not only danmei focused on romance, but also included fantasy elements. Within the name “Pang Zaiyuan” lay the mystery of his backstory, where one small change could set off a cascade of consequences, making any modifications extremely difficult.

It should be fine, right? The novel was almost finished, with only a few more interludes to go. Normal straight men wouldn’t read danmei novels anyway, and with his wit, he could seize opportunities to hide and write. Pang Zaiyuan didn’t seem like Yue Weijian, who would snoop into others’ secrets. As long as he was careful, he could definitely get through this unscathed.
