Chapter 79: Ice Crystal Colossus Golem Raid Battle (Part 2)
***
“Hey, did you see that? The fireworks in the sky!”
“Ah, yes. It seems the World BOSS raid battle has truly begun.”
“What should we do, Guildmaster? Should we join in too?”
The seven members of the Silly Group Friends Guild, who had just finished assisting with clearing elite monsters, all turned their heads to look at the figures of groups of players rushing out from the nearby forest. The earth-shaking shouts surrounding them had completely enveloped them.
At this moment when almost everyone was responding to the call and heading to the battlefield, they found it difficult to hold back.
The risk of fighting a BOSS with such a giant form was high. If there was a chance to survive by keeping their heads down, no one would refuse to reap the benefits without effort. But now that everyone else was courageously charging forward, they couldn’t be cowards either.
The guildmaster, as their head, secretly gritted his teeth and tightened his grip on the large shield in his hand. With a single command, he led the guild members to join the charging formation, “Let’s go all in!”
“But! Everyone must come back alive. If the situation looks bad, retreat immediately. Absolutely no unnecessary risks!”
“Yes!” “Yes!” “Yes!”
At this moment, the few people who were riding horses out of the forest toward the snow plains along with everyone else showed a completely different appearance from their usual selves.
They all tensed their nerves, watching with the corners of their eyes the players around them who were racing forward against the wind and snow, gripping their weapons tightly as their heartbeats suddenly quickened.
This was no ordinary game battle, but a life-and-death struggle with hundreds of players participating and extremely high danger.
One wrong move, taking a direct hit from the BOSS, would mean certain death!
“Damn, this is really exciting…”
Although it was just a game, the feeling of surging emotions and adrenaline was completely real, almost like participating in some medieval territorial war as a member of the knight class.
Yezi, holding his magic staff in hand, had just prepared himself with a resolve to face death, his brows furrowed seriously.
But when he turned his head, he immediately saw a player riding a pig, holding a long spear weapon, actually moving faster than him. The figure quickly left him far behind and disappeared into the wind and snow.
“Damn it! How is someone riding a pig moving faster than me on a horse? I saved up activity points for so long, if I’d known I would have gotten a pig too, argh!”
At the same time, through the layers of snow mist.
Yezi also saw a group of players wearing dark green cloaks, forming a formation with strict order.
Each person was crouched down on their horse’s back to reduce wind and snow resistance, maintaining a steady distance between each other as they charged forward in an orderly manner, their gazes firm and sharp, just like well-trained soldiers.
Such an organized marching formation, completely different in momentum from irregular troops like themselves.
So this is what a large guild looks like… the Freedom Wings Alliance.
“Sasageyo! Shinzou wo sasageyo!”
At the front of the formation that resembled migrating wild geese, the leader of the Freedom Wings Alliance raised the long sword in his hand, pointing it toward the Ice Crystal Colossus Golem, shouting in a deep and powerful voice.
And with those few shouts, it actually sounded like he meant it!
Wait, did I transmigrate? The current situation is…
Cloaks printed with the Freedom Wings emblem, charging into battle on horseback in tight formation, a leader at the front shouting “offer up your hearts,” and the enemy is a super-sized giant!
I am… I am in the Survey Corps!
As he spoke, Yezi, riding his horse, unknowingly separated from his guild members and instead raised his magic staff, shouting “tatakae” as he joined the formation of players wearing dark green cloaks.
The Sacred Realm Expedition Corps, wearing pure white knight armor, charged at the very front. The swordsmen, clad in heavy armor and wielding greatswords or spears, were like a steel flood rushing forward.
Their blades reflected cold gleams in the moonlight, swinging with sharp sword energy that tore through the wind and snow. The lead knight roared, sweeping his greatsword horizontally, sending sword energy like a rainbow that cut through the ice wall standing before them, making snowflakes and ice shards explode in the air.
“The BOSS’s ice wall has been broken, magic formation, group one, group two!”
“Received.” The mages followed closely behind, wearing robes with staffs emitting colorful lights in their hands. They chanted spells while running, the glow at the tips of their staff growing increasingly dazzling, finally transforming into a torrent of magic surging toward the sky.
Fireballs fell first like meteors, exploding into a sea of scorching flames.
Ice spikes shot out next like blades, leaving trails of blue in the sky.
Finally, lightning descended from the heavens, electricity splashing in all directions, the rumbling sound making the snowy ground tremble.
The entire snow plain was illuminated by the light of skills, creating a colorful light screen composed of various elements, like a magnificent fireworks display.
“Ice torrent coming, shield wall ready!”
Upon receiving the knight commander’s order, the knights in the second row raised their pure white shields, forming an impenetrable mobile defense line. The moment a magic circle appeared beside the Ice Crystal Colossus, they managed to withstand the magical torrent.
The mages immediately repositioned themselves, forming convergent magic circles in groups of five. Glowing arrays of various colors emanated from beneath their horse’s hooves, launching colorful magical torrents back at the colossus.
“That figure, and those black wings… is that the Crimson Moon Princess?”
“How is Miss Susie… No, now is not the time to think about that.” Louren, the ranged captain of the Iris Knights, furrowed his brow and quickly shook his head before turning to those behind him.
“Hey, everyone, orders have changed! All of you aim at the ice wing familiars around the Crimson Moon Princess, and assist her in defeating the BOSS with all your might!”
The archers took position on the snowy hills, drawing their bows with arrows nocked, their gazes like eagles locked onto the minions that appeared after the BOSS was activated.
Arrows flew through the air, drawing silver trails of light, piercing through the wind and snow, shooting straight into the enemy formation, bringing down all the ice wing familiars. The sounds of arrows breaking the air and explosions echoed together.
“Hmm?” Circling in the sky, Tilia was about to raise her scythe against the minions beside the BOSS when she noticed a dense rain of arrows flying sharply from behind.
She noticed the other players on the ice cliff, gave them a glance, and immediately seized the opportunity. While the archers were clearing her path, she charged directly again toward the Ice Crystal Colossus Golem that had risen from the ground.
Beside the colossus’s head displayed an exaggerated 10 bars of HP value.
After the first round of attacks, the first HP bar had finally been barely emptied, and the BOSS, now activated, had stopped moving and no longer posed a threat to the town. What remained was how to fight it to the death on this snow plain!
But the Ice Crystal Colossus Golem, having entered a combat state, clearly began to demonstrate its battle mechanics.
“ROOOOAR—!!!”
It let out a terrifying battle cry, locking its target on Tilia in the air, judging her to be the most threatening player target, and began its attack.
Tilia’s figure was nimble, darting through the air to avoid its swinging arms, then following its body upward, soaring straight to the sky. Gripping her scythe with both hands, a trail of blood-red light flashed through the air as she struck the colossus’s head once more.
The Ice Colossus Golem’s entire body was being bombarded with brilliant radiance from all sides. After taking this hit, its massive form staggered back another step.
But just as Tilia was about to continue her pursuit.
Suddenly the colossus opened its mouth for the first time, and while roaring, a tremendous ice storm immediately swept forth.
— 【Fury of the Blizzard】!
“Wh-what?” Tilia’s eyes widened as she stopped her dive at the fastest speed, but still couldn’t avoid it in time.
Her body was immediately assaulted by the ice storm. Even though she tried her best to block with her scythe in front of her, the HP value in the upper right corner was visibly decreasing to 70%, while the cold status in the BUFF column was continuously stacking, instantly turning into freezing.
Even with the effect of an external cold-resistant coat, she was frozen in such a short time!?
“Damn it, my flight status is about to be canceled…”
Tilia suddenly felt her body sink, falling downward with an irreversible trend. She tried desperately to adjust her posture, but the falling damage would probably…!!
“Tilia!” A jade-green light flashed through the air.
A deer spirit with a body like emerald jade, carrying a petite girl on its back, made several consecutive jumps left and right in the air, catching Tilia’s falling body.
Tilia looked with surprise at Cross’s small face filled with panic.
And at that instant, the Ice Crystal Colossus Golem’s movements suddenly accelerated in a short time, completely changing from its previous sluggish appearance. It clenched its fist, concentrating a fierce blizzard, and rushed toward them with a thunderous roar!
Not good, the BOSS’s attack! Tilia immediately gritted her teeth, her eyes turning completely crimson.
“Danger!” Just as they both widened their eyes, watching the oncoming fist, when both of their breaths seemed to stop.
A purple figure left afterimages in the air as Calen, wearing a leader’s robe, raised the Iris Shield in his hand and instantly flew in front of them. Roaring with all his might, he unleashed a shield pressure like an overwhelming avalanche toward the incoming ice fist!
“ORAAAAAAAAAAAH—!”
