Chapter 78: Ice Crystal Colossus Golem Raid Battle (Part 1)

***

“Su Xi! My daughter—!!!”

Calen’s desperate wail pierced through the snow and wind, reverberating across the snow plains shrouded in night.

The middle-aged man wearing Iris Knights armor stared with widened eyes, his pupils trembling violently as he fixed his gaze on the distant girl who had helplessly fallen to her knees, watching helplessly as the colossus swung its arm toward her.

When the thunderous vibration came through the ground and the rising snow dust flew toward him like a curtain, his facial expression instantly twisted in unbearable pain.

“No, no… Su Xi, no!!!”

Calen was momentarily suffocated, his entire body collapsing to his knees, his Adam’s apple trembling continuously as he stared in disbelief at the desperate scene before him.

Su Xi… his daughter, what kind of joke was this…

No, it couldn’t be real!

This must be just an extremely vivid nightmare, whether this death game or everything happening now, it had to be just a nightmare…

It was all his fault. His indecisiveness had created all these tragic outcomes.

Both his dear friend Lockias and his daughter Susie were sacrificed because of his inadequacy as a leader, his inability to make perfect judgments and plans, his failure to keep everyone alive…

Even so, he should be the only one to bear the consequences… he would rather die himself in their place!

No, don’t take away his daughter…

“Ugh, ughhhaaaaaaa—!”

Calen knelt in the snow, howling in unbearable anguish, the shield bearing the iris flower emblem falling to the ground as he grieved inconsolably.

When the Iris Knights members arrived behind him, they all witnessed the heart-wrenching scene, seeing Guildmaster Calen kneeling on the ground in despair. One by one, they were struck speechless with horror, standing frozen in place.

“Guildmaster Calen…”

Miss Susie… she had succeeded.

She had managed to deal excess damage at the last moment, attracting the BOSS’s aggro.

But because of this, she had lost any chance of escape, and at the moment the Ice Crystal Colossus attacked her, she had lost all ability to defend herself…

And without question, for a direct hit from a World BOSS like that, no one except the main tank player could possibly block it.

Which meant that Miss Susie had already…

“Wait! Look at what’s happening over there!” Suddenly, among the stunned Iris Knights members, someone shouted loudly, pointing toward the front.

Everyone’s gaze immediately lifted again, even Calen hastily looked forward in confusion and anxiety.

As if some miracle was occurring, an unbelievable scene was unfolding before everyone’s eyes, to the extent that some people thought they were seeing things and hurriedly rubbed their eyes.

Because they actually saw the Ice Crystal Colossus’s arm being gradually pushed up by some extraordinary force!

“What… what exactly is that…”

Calen’s lips trembled as he widened his eyes again in shock.

As the rising snow dust gradually dispersed, it was replaced by another opposing force with almost the same overwhelming presence as the Ice Crystal Colossus, a blood-red aura spreading outward like a crimson tide!

Under the cubic giant fist of the Ice Crystal Colossus, a white-haired girl in a black dress stood amidst the surging wind, her dress hem violently fluttering in the wind, staring intently ahead as she gradually supported the arm of the Ice Crystal Colossus with a blood-colored scythe.

“How is this possible? She’s actually blocking a World BOSS’s attack head-on!?”

“Wait, shouldn’t the World BOSS’s attack be over 5,000 points based on calculations? It’s been proven that only the main tank player could barely block a single hit!”

“Could it be? Did she use her own attack to offset part of the damage!? How high must her attack be?”

No one could block a hit from a World BOSS, this previous notion was now being shattered by the white-haired girl before them.

Given the enormous size difference between the girl and the colossus, seeing her gradually pushing up the Ice Crystal Colossus’s fist with just a scythe, even momentarily gaining the upper hand in presence, anyone witnessing it firsthand would find it incredible.

“What… is this power?”

The holy sword maiden in white robes sitting on the ground behind her was also too shocked to speak, looking somewhat dumbfounded.

Especially when, following Tilia’s angry shout, a flash of blood light passed over the Ice Crystal Colossus’s body, actually causing it to display a clear imbalance as it was forced back, its giant foot stepping backward before it barely managed to stabilize its body.

The World BOSS… had actually been forced to take a step back!?

“Crimson Moon Princess… it’s you.”

In Calen’s trembling gaze reflecting Tilia’s figure, he immediately recognized that familiar silhouette, and Susie was also safe under her protection!

Thank goodness, so she was still in this world after all.

In an instant, his chest heaved violently, his facial expression becoming even more contorted as he raised the corners of his mouth with a crying face, desperately trying to support his knees to stand up.

“Come on.” Tilia murmured softly, her eyes darkening.

In the next moment, black wings spread, her figure transformed into a blood-red light streaking toward the Ice Crystal Colossus.

The white-haired girl’s speed was extreme, almost impossible to capture, leaving only a faintly visible trail of afterimages in the snow and wind. The blood scythe rotated in her hand, its blade cutting through the air, bringing with it dazzling flashes of blood light.

Her swinging movements were swift and fierce, each slash like lightning across the night sky, quick and violent, too fast for the eye to follow.

“Clang—!” The blade of the blood scythe collided violently with the colossus’s ice armor, the harsh grinding sound echoing across the snow plains as ice shards scattered in all directions.

Tilia didn’t pause for a moment; her figure darted at high speed around the colossus, her blood scythe swinging like a raging storm, its trajectory weaving a blood-red death web in the air. The blade flashed, relentless, fast enough to make one dizzy, like countless blood-colored lightning bolts striking the colossus simultaneously!

Finally, the blood-colored scythe was hurled forth like a spear carrying red lightning, directly hitting the Ice Crystal Colossus’s head.

“Roar—!!!” As the Ice Crystal Colossus roared in anger,

Her figure followed close behind the scythe, her legs tracing a crescent moon curve in the air, the tips of her high heels gleaming under the moonlight, a knight’s kick diving down, achieving the final combo hit!

Following the opening created by Susie’s Holy Sword Radiance, with the sequential breaking of body joints, and then a full-power attack on its weak point, the head.

The Ice Crystal Colossus Golem’s stagger was broken at this moment!

The World BOSS’s enormous body slowly fell backward before the players who had rushed to the scene following the firework signal, crashing to the ground with a thunderous sound.

“Hey, you’ve got to be kidding…”

Players still making their way through the forest widened their eyes in shock, their vision penetrating the trees to see that imposing huge body slowly losing balance and falling, eventually hidden by the forest.

What was going on? Wasn’t the plan just to stop the World BOSS?

They actually defeated it outright!?

What exactly happened at the frontline!

But regardless, it was time, right?

Looking at the firework signals continuously rising in the sky, after the Iris Knights, the Sacred Realm Expedition Corps and Freedom Wings Alliance, watching for the right moment, also launched their fireworks, serving as the bugle call for the general charge.

In an instant, the continuously rising fireworks exploded in the sky with multiple “bangs,” almost lighting up the entire night sky.

“Oooaaaaaahhhhh—!”

On the vast snow plains covered in ice and snow, the cold wind cut like a knife, whipping up flying snow everywhere.

As if heaven and earth were beating the war drums for this great battle, with the fall of the Ice Crystal Colossus, deafening shouts erupted from all directions. From the depths of the snowy forest, the tops of icy cliffs, the edges of frozen lakes, hundreds of players surged forth like a tide, converging from all sides, their momentum tremendous, like mountains crumbling and earth splitting.

“Chaaarge—!!!”

“Holy crap, mom I’m fired up in the game!!!”

“Attack! Attack—!!!”

Their silhouettes darted through the wind and snow, riding Snow Terrain Horses, riding Land-Running Birds, and some even riding Very Fast Running Pigs, all trampling the ice and converging toward the center of the battlefield, snow flying in all directions as it was trampled.

The previously quiet snow plains were instantly submerged in a sea of roaring voices.

“That huge monster has been knocked down!”

“Can they manage to hold it back if it stands up again…”

“The Starforgers, they seem to have also begun their assault…”

In the distance, watching the brave warriors continuously gathering like a tide, residents observing from the outskirts of Ice Snow City all felt a moment of anxiety.

Among the dense crowd, Ruby, standing at the front, leaned against the railing with her face full of unease as she stared intently at the snow plains battlefield where the fighting had erupted. Both hands tightly held her fluffy tail, her heartbeat suddenly accelerating.

And she had just seen Lady Tilia’s figure flying out there…

Ruby’s trembling hands clasped against her chest as she couldn’t help but close her eyes in worry and began to pray silently.

“Everything will go smoothly, Miss Tilia and the adventurers will all return safely.”
