Chapter 64: It’s Just Applying Ointment!

***

This was a small and exquisite house.

The house had two floors with a total area of about 100 square meters. Upon entering, the words 【Owner: Tilia】 would appear before one’s eyes.

The first floor had almost nothing in it, just a large living room with a few old leather sofas, an old coat rack, and several wooden boxes piled in the corner, a completely empty scene that hadn’t yet been arranged or decorated.

The second floor, which served as the bedroom, had particularly refined interior decorations.

Firewood crackled in the fireplace, two wall-mounted lamps gently illuminated the room, a square carpet was laid on the floor in front of the fireplace with a rocking chair placed on it, and beside it was a carved wooden bed near the window.

The entire room was filled with a warm and serene feeling, quite like the coziness of a winter cabin.

Tilia’s footsteps came up the stairs to the second floor. The bedroom door was opened and then gently closed.

She glanced at the petite girl still sleeping peacefully on the bed, first checking the remaining fuel in the fireplace, seeing 【Remaining Fuel: 52%】, and then adding enough firewood to bring it to 【Remaining Fuel: 100%】.

During her time away, about 10% had been consumed.

As the heating equipment for the house, she needed the fireplace to maintain sufficient fuel to work properly.

Afterward, Tilia sat in the rocking chair beside the bed. The firelight from the fireplace quietly illuminated one side of her face as she watched Cross’s peaceful sleeping face, keeping vigil over the girl who might wake at any moment.

She observed her subtle expressions, occasionally reaching out to gently brush away strands of hair entangled on her face.

【Cross, Mage Lv.21】

【HP: 2,083/3,472 (60%)】

【MP: 320/320】

Because the weakened DEBUFF after severe injury was still in effect, her HP value wasn’t completely unrecovered, but rather the upper limit had been temporarily reduced. On the HP display bar, one could clearly see a section of gray virtual bars.

In other words, the maximum recoverable value now was 60%, and only after the injuries were completely healed would the gray virtual bars disappear.

“Let me apply medicine to Cross first, hopefully it will help.”

After Tilia sat quietly by the bed for a while, a string of light bell sounds rang out. She opened the item inventory in the game system interface, clicked 【Take Out】, and a potion with green fluorescence appeared in her hand.

Miss Ruby said it was for external use, so it was like an ointment or something similar.

Tilia examined the green liquid in the potion vial. As soon as she opened the wooden stopper, a herbal scent wafted out. However, this smell wasn’t unpleasant, but rather a fresh medicinal fragrance that was quite comfortable to the nose.

It reminded her of the musk cream used to treat shoulder and neck pain in the real world.

Tilia sat on the edge of the bed and gently lifted Cross’s blanket. Because the fireplace was providing heat, the room wasn’t cold, so there was no need to worry about Cross catching cold during the treatment, getting sick was indeed possible in the game.

The loli lying on the bed had already removed her equipment, wearing only thin white undergarments on her upper and lower body.

The girl’s exposed skin was as white and smooth as milk. Her petite, beautiful body now showed wounds on her slender waist and slightly undulating lower abdomen, like jarring cracks on a piece of white jade, making one feel distressed.

“Miss Cross, I’ll be a bit intrusive, sorry…”

Looking at Cross’s snow-white delicate body in just her underwear, Tilia tried her best to dismiss those involuntary improper thoughts. She poured a little of the potion into her palm and then gently applied it to the wounds on her body.

Don’t imagine Cross as the opposite sex, but rather treat her as a younger sister to care for, that way there would be no room for overthinking.

Although it was strange for her, now being a girl herself, to say “don’t view another girl as the opposite sex,” and also to exclude a sister from the category of the opposite sex would probably make sisters feel displeased too.

It seemed this reasoning wasn’t appropriate no matter what, so it was better to be cautious and not use it.

Tilia’s mind wandered to these boring attempts to psychologically justify herself while she carefully applied the medicine. Her fingers gradually turned pale green, and the potion gradually covered all the visible wounds on the body.

But soon she encountered the only small problem.

There was also a wound on Cross’s chest. Although her chest wasn’t as full as her own, it had begun to take shape with slight curves, and now the upper half of that rounded snow-white skin was shyly exposed.

If she were to apply the medicine, she would undoubtedly have to encounter the lower half as well, and not only that, she would have to touch it with her hands and apply several times.

Perhaps it would be better to get it over with quickly, pretending nothing had happened.

This wasn’t the time to be concerned about skin-to-skin contact.

“I’ll close my eyes.”

Tilia muttered to herself, not hesitating any further. She then slowly extended her hand, coated with ointment, toward those two snowy areas.

It was at this moment.

It seemed that some movement disturbed the girl sleeping peacefully on the bed, causing her to awaken from her slumber.

“Mmm…” Cross slowly opened her hazy blue eyes and looked at the white-haired girl beside her, who was reaching out with her hand, eyes tightly closed and an expression of difficult exploration on her face. For a moment, she still felt somewhat disoriented.

It was like waking up from a very long dream, that feeling of just emerging from a dream.

Cross’s eyelashes fluttered a few times as she looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings, not knowing where she was. But regardless of where she was, seeing Tilia by her side when she opened her eyes inexplicably calmed her heart.

Lying in bed, Cross weakly said in a soft voice: “Tilia?”

“Wha!? C-Cross, you’re finally awake!?”

The unexpected voice startled Tilia, causing her outstretched hand to suddenly freeze in midair. She saw that Cross had awakened and was looking at her with a confused yet gentle gaze.

Following that, seeing Cross awake, Tilia’s heart also lightened considerably.

She had thought Cross would fall into a dormant state of sleep and not wake up for a long time, like injured patients in comas in hospitals.

“Huh? Tilia, why am I lying here… ugh, so tired.”

Cross, who had just awakened, seemed to be somewhat confused about the situation. She tried to sit up from the bed but found that her whole body and limbs had become weak and powerless. She wanted to exert strength but couldn’t, feeling the powerlessness that comes after sleeping too long.

Tilia quickly stopped her attempt to get up.

“You were seriously injured before, so continue to rest for a while,” she said. “Don’t you remember? We were attacked by red-name players, you were injured and fainted, and you’ve been sleeping until now… about 14 hours.”

“Eh? That’s right. So I didn’t die after all…”

Cross blinked her eyes, also recalling what had happened before she fainted. Then she couldn’t help but turn her face toward Tilia and smile, “I thought I was already in heaven, and had even seen a beautiful angel sister just like Tilia.”

“I won’t let you die… absolutely not.”

Tilia silently clenched her fist resting on her knee.

Then, hearing Cross, who had narrowly escaped death, say such playful words upon waking, she couldn’t help but laugh despite her anger. She had been very worried about Cross’s condition, and her nerves had been extremely tense until they reached the main city.

This silly cute loli probably didn’t realize how close she had come to death, did she?

“I’ve made you worry, Tilia… I’m sorry.”
