Chapter 47: Collective Expedition to the Snow Plains

***

First floor, Pure White Holy City Main District (Lv.0)

“Wait for our good news! As for that mere Ice Wolf King, we’ll aim to defeat it on the first day!”

“Hahaha, Captain, you’re exaggerating too much. To gather 25 people, we’d need at least five or six small teams, and we still need to find more people.”

“But don’t worry, if the situation doesn’t look good, we can just use 【Escape】 immediately. Thankfully someone discovered this skill.”

Groups of players stood on the teleportation array outside the main city district, wearing various equipment, waving goodbye to their friends who came to see them off. Under everyone’s expectant and admiring gazes, they teleported batch after batch to the snow region on the third floor.

Today was the day when the cold weather outfit could be mass-produced, and various guilds of all sizes launched a collective assault on the third floor.

Therefore, at the wishing pool at the bottom of the cathedral steps, there were particularly many players who came to make wishes today. They threw a Star Coin into the clear water of the wishing pool, devoutly closed their eyes with hands clasped, and prayed towards the direction of the cathedral.

“I wish for the brave players fighting on the frontlines of the third floor to return triumphantly, and hope that this death game will come to an end one day.”

“I hope to see my father and mother again, and hope that everyone can survive well.”

“Goddess, God, whatever deity, even if it’s a hermaphrodite. If there are so-called deities being worshipped in this world, if they can fulfill these wishes, even I, an atheist, might become a believer…”

At the half-month mark of the game’s progress.

The player community has begun to differentiate more clearly.

Even PVX players have joined the ranks of raising their life skill levels. After realizing that various recovery items and equipment could be crafted by themselves, they are gradually becoming backup forces for the frontline pioneer groups.

“Hemostatic Grass” around the first floor, a raw material for making Basic Healing Potions, could be seen being collected by large numbers of players almost every day. Various basic buff potions were constantly being listed and circulated in the trading hall in the main city district. For the first time, there was a hot market phenomenon in the game, and PVX players obtained game currency through this method to maintain their daily necessities.

In the tavern with a “PUB” wooden sign, at noon, people filled the scattered round tables.

Among them, a bearded man who seemed particularly enthusiastic about drinking spoke with great interest to several friends sitting opposite him: “Once the pioneer team breaks through the third floor, I’ll take my newly bought pickaxe and go straight to the Ice Snow Mine to dig for iron ore!

There aren’t many people who have reached Intermediate Mining yet, and you need to be intermediate to collect iron ore. I’ll definitely make a fortune then!”

“Wow, I was wondering why I always see you in one mine or another. So you’ve been mining all day long and actually reached intermediate level. So, what are you going to do with the money you earn?”

“That goes without saying, first get better equipment, then save money to buy a house in a town on the first floor.”

“Buy a house? What’s the point of buying a house in the game? The inn fees aren’t very high either, so there’s no need to spend tens of thousands on a house, right?”

The bearded miner, whose nose had turned red from drinking, immediately shook his finger, let out a hiccup, and continued, “Heh. You just don’t understand. Look at this game, does it look like something that can be cleared in a day or two? This is 100 floors, not 10 floors.

It’s possible we’ll have to live in this game for two or three years. Anyway, living is living, whether here or there. Living comfortably in the game isn’t bad either…”

This game obviously cannot be finished in a short time.

Rather than constantly worrying about how to get out alive, it might be better to simply buy a sunny house full of flowers on the first floor, find a stable income from a life profession, and just settle down and live peacefully.

The scenery in the game is so beautiful, and living a leisurely rural life is also a rare life experience.

The bearded miner’s thoughts were also shared by some other players with quite an open-minded attitude. Even more so, some people were already overwhelmed by their terrible corporate jobs in reality, and living in the game gave them a more real sense of being alive than reality did.

Even if they died, they wanted to live a life without regrets before that.

“When you put it that way, it makes sense. But all of this is based on the assumption that the pioneer players can make progress smoothly.”

“Sigh. I can’t help much, I can only dig more iron ore. I heard iron ore is one of the essential materials for crafting blue quality equipment. If the pioneer players need it, I’ll prioritize giving it to them at a low price…”

While everyone was chatting casually, a message on the World Channel was repeatedly highlighted and forwarded.

The message was also constantly confirmed by players currently pioneering the third floor, becoming the hottest topic during this exploration period and attracting many players to stop and check.

【Latest intelligence: Attention! Be cautious when entering the Wind Snow Area on the third floor. The situation has changed. An Ice Crystal Colossus Golem that wasn’t present during the closed beta has appeared. Its movement pattern is unclear. It seems to move for a while and then stop in place, but once someone approaches, it will get up again】

【After testing, this Ice Crystal Colossus Golem has very high magic resistance. Physical resistance is currently unknown. It’s best not to confront it】

【Reminder again! The target is extremely dangerous. Some pioneer players have already perished】

This latest battle information was posted by a player named “Nolan.”

“Everyone come look, it’s intelligence released by that Nolan!”
