Chapter 43: Feeko
***
“Wh-what maid?”
Tilia gazed confusedly at the green-haired girl in a cloak before her, and now she could clearly see that beneath that concealing cloak, Feeko was wearing a black and white maid dress.
Eternal Night Servant Maid Corps? What was that?
And the little girl before her looked no more than 12 or 13 years old, yet she claimed Tilia as her master?
Was it because of her identity as the Vampire Princess? After all, she addressed her as princess right away, but what kind of game setting was this? She hadn’t encountered any so-called maid servants during the closed beta.
“Ah, Princess, it’s normal that you don’t recognize me.”
“This is our first meeting, but I know you are our future princess, daughter of Queen Osivia.”
“Hehe, I’m the first among the maids to meet the Princess, it’s me, Feeko.”
Feeko seemed very happy to see Tilia, once again taking light quick steps toward her. Those blinking big eyes were full of respect and adoration, sparkling so brightly that Tilia felt almost embarrassed to maintain eye contact.
But this didn’t answer Tilia’s questions. Where on earth had this strange little girl appeared from?
“Wait, so you deliberately led me to this secluded place?”
“Yes, after all, there are too many eyes in town, which would interfere with my private meeting with the Princess~ So I was waiting for an opportunity, teehee.” Feeko smiled with her hands obediently behind her back. “The Princess’s perception is truly keen. I thought you wouldn’t be able to notice me for quite some time.”
“You intentionally gave yourself away to me, didn’t you…” Tilia narrowed her eyes.
This little one was definitely not as harmless and cute as she appeared.
Even when she was running away earlier, she had deliberately slowed down for Tilia to follow, not seriously trying to escape at all.
Whether because of the supposed princess-maid relationship or not, normally player or NPC names and levels couldn’t be seen directly, but Tilia could uniquely see this little girl’s level displayed right next to her name above her head.
And it shockingly showed 【Lv.84】.
An NPC at level 84, appearing in the beginner city area, claiming to be her maid servant, Tilia couldn’t help but twitch the corner of her mouth. She herself as the princess was only level 49.
If any combat were to be triggered, Tilia would probably be thoroughly beaten by this little maid.
“I’m sorry, but I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else, or I’m not the person you’re looking for… Allow me to object, I am not the most beautiful woman you speak of, nor am I your princess. I…”
“Ah, I understand. Princess, is this your first time being a girl? Don’t worry, everyone will teach you how to be a cute girl.”
“W-wait a minute!?” Tilia was greatly shocked, her face involuntarily flushing slightly red.
To think she even knew about that, what was going on?
Who exactly was this girl called Feeko? And who was this Queen Osivia?
“I know you must have many questions upon our first meeting, Princess, but I cannot explain everything to you at once. After all, I am not a Floating Island inhabitant, and my body cannot remain on this continent for long.”
“But, the other sisters with stronger adaptability should be able to stay for a much longer time. They will come to follow you successively in the future. Everyone is looking forward to meeting you, and several sisters seem particularly enthusiastic.”
Tilia blinked and held her forehead, then asked:
“Wait, let me get this straight. What do you mean by ‘cannot remain for long’… And what are Floating Island inhabitants?”
Feeko laughed charmingly: “Just as it sounds, after all, this is the domain of the Star Lord. Ah, was that pretty girl shopping with you tonight your favored consort? As expected of the Princess, you’ve already conquered a cute girl with your charm.”
“You mean Cross? No, no, no…”
“Princess Tilia doesn’t need to be modest. I’ll greet the Consort when I have the chance, but time is short tonight. You’re heading to the third floor next, right? Then you should beware of that bad little witch. Don’t let her lead you around by the nose.”
“She’s a bad one, our enemy.”
At this point, Feeko’s tone carried a warning, more like trying to convey some information to Tilia in advance.
“Little witch? You mean there will be some enemy?”
“Yes, the third floor… has already changed hands. Please be careful, I came this time specifically to warn you about this.”
“Oh my, I’m about to be discovered. I must leave immediately.” Sensing that her maintaining time was not sufficient, Feeko didn’t continue the long conversation. It seemed that just being able to meet the Princess once had already satisfied her wish. She took another step toward Tilia.
She tiptoed in her little leather shoes, and then gave a quick peck on Tilia’s cheek.
“Teehee, I’ve also claimed the Princess’s first kiss. They’ll surely be jealous. Then we’ll meet again, Princess — after seeing you in person, you really are beautiful! Looking forward to the day I can serve you fully with body and soul~”
Feeko placed her hands together on her chest, stepped back, smiled at Tilia, and then her form suddenly shattered into crystal fragments.
“Wait! Feeko! I still have questions…” Tilia was about to step forward to grab her, but that suddenly shattered form, similar to the death effect in the game, gave her a shock.
No, she shouldn’t be dead, just disappeared…
Strange, where did she come from? Wasn’t she an NPC in the game?
“What is all this about…”
Tilia watched as the small maid, whose behavior had been overly intimate, quickly disappeared before her. After a long while, she absently touched the slightly moist spot on her cheek with her finger.
She had met a strange little girl and been inexplicably kissed.
After standing there dumbfounded for some time, Tilia finally returned to the main street area, still completely confused. She only knew that what had just happened didn’t seem like any special NPC interaction or quest…
“Are you all right, pretty girl?”
The pharmacy sister who had seen her return again asked with concern.
“I’m fine… Oh, sorry, if you have Intermediate Healing Potions next time, I’ll come back to shop.”
“Yes, I’ll work hard to improve my alchemy level.”
Despite saying this, Tilia still bought a batch of Basic Healing Potions to take back, after all, tomorrow she would be exploring the Winter Snow Plains on the third floor with Cross. Although the effect was relatively weak, bringing more healing items was always beneficial.
Next, she browsed the equipment market for a while, and not finding any good equipment, she teleported back to the inn in Morning Dew Town.
Inn First Floor Lobby (Lv.0)
Many players gathered around wooden tables drinking and discussing going to the third floor, and among them were people enthusiastically planning how to defeat the third floor’s boss, the 「Winter Ice Wolf King」.
After the second floor boss was likely defeated by a small team, many people began to believe they could also participate in such glorious raids.
“Damn, I heard during closed beta, that wolf king would summon a wolf pack in his second phase, requiring at least 5 ranged DPS to handle…”
“They’ll definitely change the mechanics. Didn’t they change the second floor boss mechanics? During closed beta it was only 50% difficulty. The increased difficulty isn’t just in numbers, it will also affect mechanics.”
“I give up. Why am I spending money on drinks here listening to people who don’t even have cold weather outfits talk big about raiding bosses?”
“Ahem, well, it’s called planning ahead… if you could get us a few sets, I’d go kill that boss for you right away!”
Tilia, with her jumbled thoughts, didn’t stop to listen to their chat as usual, but walked straight through the lobby and up the stairs.
“Hmm? What’s this?”
However, just as she was on the stairs calling up the game system to check her inventory, suddenly, Tilia discovered that in her character’s passive talents section, a brand new but dimmed text had appeared — 【Eternal Night Servant (Inactive)】.
